  1. Brown, maybe? Brow is the only Ivy I've never met anyone from. And the shit is in RI.

One of my English teachers in HS went to brown. Spent 25-35 becoming a millionaire and then decided he wanted to teach English. Great guy.

  2. Hmm, I really can't confirm any of the bad experiences you guys had. I guess I give off the "understated but rich looking gaijin" vibe that shopkeepers like so much. While I agree that most sales staff spoke English only to the level of basic communication, they were really trying their best to be helpful. In one random store somewhere in Harajuku that had BW sneakers and a bunch of other authentic mil stuff, the guy called his other shop and had a worker from there come over just to get me something I wanted in a size they didn't have stocked. That's service.

  3. Prop? Thats mean...

that was taken back when we used to hang out (obviously we don't anymore) I told her she should get out of the shot because where the picture was ending up; the people don't care for her there. But she said "fuck em' babi!" and stuck it out.

    She is so confident.

Does anyone else get this post when they try to quote poly's OP?

  4. First off, it's a shame that the lighting on the pictures isn't perfect, because it makes it difficult to judge the fabrics and details, especially with most of the pieces being black.

I agree that while the ensembles look quite good, I don't see very many pieces being too wearable. But I'll reserve my judgment on this one as I'm sure someone on here or on szg will pull it off.

  5. just recieved them today, ill take pics later, becuase my uncle just died yesterday and his funeral is going to be on my graduation day plus i have to help my aunt buy his and her spot and dam, anyways they fit nice but the denim looks kinda weed strains sticking out plus they were as stiff as a cardboard due to soaking them? i wish i could have seen what they looked liked pre soak, anyhow they are nice, pics to come soon

    wow, that's pretty harsh...

anyways, I'd be willing to pay 15 for the belt if everyone else does too, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to wear it every day.

edit: for the shipping costs, I'm not able to say how much they will at this point because I'm unsure if I'll be in Austria or England (or maybe even somewhere completely different, but that's unlikely) by then, but probably between 30 to 60 euros is what it will cost to get them from Vienna to Chicago depending on how fast, and I haven't checked out the UK rates yet but they should be similar.

  6. It would probably be too difficult to implement for H&M, but if they could do it reasonably then I'm sure they'd get fucking hella rich.

It wouldn't be THAT difficult considering the amount of money they would get...

All they would have to do is

    1) Stop varying their sizing so much OR take measurements of everything they sell in every size

    2) Open an online shop

  7. I do think that once a garment is put onto a person, the fit, whatever it may be, is of utmost importance. While it is true that a garment enhances the person who wears it, the person should also enhance the garment. This is done by having it fit well and combining it with other garments in some way. If the issue is looked at from the side of the clothes and not from the side of the wearer, it is better to not wear a piece at all if it doesn't fit well because the poor fit will only detract from the true qualities of the garment.

I think streetwear is a much clearer example for this topic than most other aesthetics, simply due to the amount of hype there is for various pieces. People aren't looking for a well-fitting t-shirt, they're looking for a certain t-shirt by a certain designer/brand. And yet, even though these people are so particular about their clothes, only few end up looking good. On this board, off the top of my head, A.L., MilSpex, termitezee, 78, sXXXe, and only a few others, manage to successfully wear streetwear clothing in a way that is visually pleasing to those who do not generally follow that particular aesthetic. I think what these people are able to do is determine the ideal fit for these various pieces that they are wearing that make them look much better than other people wearing the same clothes.

  8. I'm not in Vienna right now but Chegini has a sale right now where all S/S '07 Dior tees (and a bunch of other stuff including Undercover, Ann D, etc.) are 50% off. If someone is there right now they might be able to do a pickup for you. Or call them and they might ship overseas, who knows. I don't have their number on hand but I'm sure you can find it somehow.

  9. How can you say that when you`re paying for your own health insurance AND a whole bunch of other peoples coz they dont work as hard/aren`t as talented as you? If you lived in America you would have a whole lot more money in your pocket after tax, you would still pay for your private insurance and I would bet it would be of a higher standard than in Austria aswell.

While I hate to get into a debate about class separation, let's just say that with the exception of a few people who intentionally disable the system, everybody should have the right for decent healthcare.

As for the standards of private healthcare, while I don't know just how good it is in America, it could hardly be better in Austria. I got through a meningitis (had about 3 hours to live when I arrived at the hospital), spending about a month in a private room with 24/7 service, and just about anything else I could think about. I have never had to wait in line for any of the routine stuff either.

I am aware that I would have more money if my country had the same system as America, but I'm willing to pay the extra money for living in a country that is governed closer to my political ideals.

  10. - making a huge breakfast when i have time... it's just such a great way to start a day and even if its not as good as at a restaurant, it just feels so much better

    - ex-girlfriends that aren't bitches... i cheated on this one girl a while back and we broke up, but we still meet as friends. I think I'm the only guy who doesn't mind hearing "we can still be friends"

    - going to sleep slightly drunk... that tingly feeling throughout the body is great

    - taking a bus somewhere and being there 30 minutes early and just walking around the city aimlessly for those 30 minutes

    - the 3 or 4 days in a relationship where you're not actually "together" yet but both know it and just feel great

  11. I live in Austria, and while I have private medical/health insurance, I hear from just about everybody that our public medical system is very good. In terms of drugs I'd say we're on the same level as just about every other developed country. Some of the over the counter stuff isn't as easy to get, but I'd say that's a good thing.

Our taxes are progressive and yes the highest bracket is pretty fucking high (50%). Still I'd say the system is better than the American one, especially for the working/lower/middle class.
