  1. As much as it pains me being a huge Ande-fan, I'm selling my Grifters. They're just too big on me.

They are a size 80cm/31.5" with a 36 length. After one hot wash, no detergent, the waist measures 32" and the inseam 35.75.

They fade fast, but have only been worn for about 20 days, over a long period of time. The last 6 months, the jeans have been in my closet, not folded properly. As a result of that, they now have some vertical creases.

The creases look more faded in the photos than in real life. The flash probably highlighted them. They are, however, noticeable, but I truly believe they'll disappear with some wear and a soak. The jeans are still very dark.

Asking $ 90 plus shipping, which will vary depending on your location. I'm in Norway. PM.

  2. If I can't bike in my jeans, I can't wear them. Every weekday I bike to uni and back (>1 hour total), and I won't stop doing that. I need the excercise and save the environment, and that 40 minute ride really helps me wake up in the morning. I do wash pretty frequently though, because I have to, but it's all worth it.

Funny you should ask about this.. On November 10th we're releasing the SEXIH03 jeans.

They're jeans we've designed from the ground up to be worn by cyclists.

This sounds perfect Kiya, consider me a customer.

  3. Thanks for your help, Cameland. I guess it's hard to find something with a leg opening that's less than 7, so it doesn't have to be. Anyways, it depends on how loose the thighs are, even 8-9" would give the impression of a real taper if the jeans are wider on top.

I "stole" two photos from Whyred and Wester/Tresbien Shop just to give an idea.

(Rolling is apparently very big among Swedish fashionistas.)

  4. I'm looking for a very tapered - but NOT skinny - quality jean.

I want the top and the thighs to be comfortably loose fitting, and the hem to be as small as possible, preferably around or less than 7" in a size 30 (kind of like Julian Red Detroit, but not quite).

It doesn't have to be selvedge, but it has to be raw.

I've been searching this forum and the online stores (Self Edge, Context, Blue in Green), but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Now, does that jean exist, or should I just buy a regular cut and have them tapered at the tailor? Help is much appreciated.

  5. I need help from a swede!

Can anyone tell me the best shops to buy Julian Red in Stockholm?

    Going there soon, you see.

I'm particularly looking for their female line, but anything will do.

  6. I just picked up two pairs of New Standards in 29; one blue, the other black.

For comparison I measured them both when I got home from the store, so this is pre-wear, pre-soak, pre-everything:

    Blue

    Waist: 16"

    Thigh: 11,5"

    Knee: 8,5"

    Hem: 7,5"

    Lenght: 34,5"

    Front rise: 10,75-11"

    Black

    Waist: 15,5"

    Thigh: 11,25"

    Knee: 8,25"

    Hem: 7,25"

    Lenght: 34,5"

    Front rise: 10,5"

The black NS are as you can see about 0.5" tighter all through the leg and 1" in the waist. The denim also feels a little bit thinner and softer.

I normally wear a 28 in the regular blue NS, but I decided to go for a more relaxed fit (they are still slim enough, don't worry). I'd say that the black ones fit somewhere between a blue 28 and a blue 29, but closer to a 28.

  7. I just got my first pair of KMW Rockers ordered online. I LOVE the jeans, and the construction is hands down the best I've ever seen (being kind of a newbie, I only have experience with APC, LVC and Ande Whall in raw denim).

I wear a 29 in New Standards/New Cures and ordered the KMW in 31x34. I have to say I should've gone with a 30. My problem with APC are the tight thighs - the waist, ass and rest of the legs have never been an issue.

Since the Rockers have slightly more relaxed thighs they fit a bit baggy. Anyways, I have a lot of superskinny denim - I guess it's time I got something more comfortable.

It looks like they're going to be a hard nut to crack. Have worn these new babies 24x7 the last week, and I know breaking jeans in is a long process, but these don't have any sign of wear at all. Not even in the crotch where I always get bike wear almost immediately. Will def post pictures when the time comes.

  8. Sorry, it took me some time to get back with info.

I have New Standards in 28, and regular, non-stretch New Cures in 29. These fit me so tight in the thighs (but a little big in the waist) that I went for 29 in the stretch version as well. The waist is kinda too big, but the fit is still nice. I guess I could have bought 28 instead. My regular waist is close to 31.

    Hope that helps.

  9. Julian Red Hoboken Black Bullets, sz. 32, for sale!

Worn once to a !!! concert, looks brand new. No wear.

Great jeans, but the fit is weird on me. I'm selling these to buy a pair of Californias.

    Price: $ 130 shipped internationally.

    I use PayPal.

    Measurements

    Waist: 16,5" accross (42cm)

    Inseam: 35 1/4" (90cm)

    Leg opening: 6,5" accross (16,5cm)

  10. I just read through the whole thread, so I think this is a legitimate question:

Does anyone have the rise measurements of the California and the Hoboken? On the Denimbar site it says that the former is med-low and the latter is low. I would really like to know the exact measurement. Thanks!

  11. So the old cures are identical to the new standards except from the knee down and the new cures are overall tighter?

I have both the new standards and the old cures in 28, and the o.c. are definately tighter even above the knee. I also have new cures in 29 and they are way tighter in the thighs and knees, but comfortable in the waist.

  12. thanks, mandel! so 30" is pre-stretch?

Well, not entirely pre-stretch, just right after a wash. I think the waist measured about 29" when I first got the jeans. Between washes it stretches to about 31-32" (I guess).

  13. mass:

I just washed my New Standards in size 28. They are worn and stretched for 8-9 months now, but right after a wash they shrink back some and then they stretch out again fast when worn.

    -waist: ≈30" (almost 15" accross)

    -thigh: 22"

    white_giraffe:

I forgot to measure the New Cures last night. Sorry. These jeans have been soaked once and worn for 5 days now, so I guess they've stretched a bit.

-waist: 33,5" (probably due to the fact that I have to wear the jeans low on my hips because they're so tight around the knee that I can't pull them up properly)

    -thigh: 21"

    -knee: 15"

    -calf: 13,75"

Hope that helps. If not, let me know.

  14. hey can you take some measurements of your new cures? i want to get some but will have to order online :( i will be very grateful!

Yes, I can do that, just give me a couple of hours.

I've worn them for three days, so I guess they've stretched a bit though. I measured the waist before the soak and before putting them on and it was exactly 30".

  15. So, I picked up a new pair of new cures while on vacation in New York last week. I already have two pairs in size 28; the new standards (slim but loose) and the regular cures (tight). I decided that I didn't want something painfully tight and went with a 29.

(No trying on in the store, that's kinda no point with A.P.C. because they're always too tight at first anyway.)

The first thing I did when I got back home was a cold soak to get some of the starch out. Now, the waist and upper thigh are looser than both the new standards and the cures. The thing is that the jeans are so damn tight around my calf, knee and lower thigh that I can't pull them all the way up. I can wear them though, all the buttons are buttoned and they look fine, just sit lower on the hip, but I'm IN PAIN.

I have bruises, blisters and even one open sore on the back of my knees. I can hardly walk up the stairs of my appartment building or bike or squat because they're restricting knee movement.

Any advice on how to stretch the knees a bit without actually wearing them? I've tried pulling in opposite directions with my bare hands, but that didn't work.

I'd really like to keep'em, because they look damn good. And will probably look better when I can pull them up (I'm a girl, so I don't like that tight saggy look too much).

  16. This happened to me when I ordered from APC and I was concerned, as you are, so I e-mailed them. I was told they had shipped the 2 days after I had placed my order (which was on a sunday). I think the order status feature on the website is just not taken care of properly.

I received the jeans before they had even changed the status on my order to "shipped". And that was after an e-mail about sizing down one, which they did, but never replied to or confirmed.
