  1. I'm a girl and nowadays I wear one of these three brands:

I totally love my APC Cure (Narrow). I would have gone for New Cure, but the store was sold out and I'm happy with what I got. I don't like it when my jeans are too girly, I'm past that low-waist phase and, thus, the APCs are perfect. Classic no nonsense jeans.

I also have Acne Hex (two pairs) and Hep. Though the fit is amazing on both models (the first with a rather high waist and tight, tapered legs and the second slightly roomier with a low waist), the denim is not all that. Plus they are twice as expensive as APC.

..but I'll continue buying them because they make my butt and legs look good.

Cheap Monday on the other hand, is about half the price of APC. You get what you pay for, quality wise, but they're great for a while.

Beware that both the regular and tight style vary a lot in size depending on the wash. Tight raw and stonewashed are about the same, but overdyed black is significantly smaller. Stupid me, I bought without trying them on first, and they fit me like lycra leggings. Some might be into that style, but I feel a little too exposed.

  2. pics of the fit on those?

Nope. Had to photograph them while she was at work and I couldn't bring myself to put them on (they'd be waaaay too short on me and probably not work wonders for my ass.. haha). I think they were a 595 or something.

On her, they fit like a regular straight grown-up jean. With some extra room around the hips and a medium rise.

  3. haha at first i thought they were your mothers 52 year old jeans and i was like DAMN, but then i figured out you meant your mom was 52... sweet fade, were they raw or onewash or just somekind multiwash? how dark were they originally is i guess what i meant

They were dark, onewash I guess. Definately not raw.

And she's been washing them pretty much all the time.

  4. These are my 52 year old mother's weekend jeans. She's in scrubs most of the time so these have been worn occasionally for work around the house and in the garden and washed frequently for the last 5-6 years. It doesn't show in the photos, but they are paper thin in the faded areas.

(They are of course some lame Levi's model for older women, but I like the wear)

I wear my jeans a lot harder, they always rip before I get anywhere near this overall fade. Not sure about the honeycombs (in a non-honeycomb stripe pattern) on just one leg though. As far as I can tell, her knee movement is the same on both sides.

  5. I have New Standards and I found it hard to bike or even walk uphill in them at the beginning because they were so tight in the thighs and knees.

They do loosen up a bit after a while, but it was not until after the first wash (3 months in, had to do it, got birdshit on them...) that they became comfortable. Now they're easily my favorite jeans, even though they were a pain to wear in the very beginning.

  6. Since I've posted questions about APC sizing in this forum too, for the ummpth time according to regulars, I thought I'd post measurements that are used as reference on Azalea's website:

    New Standard, size 32

    Actual waist: 35.5"

    Front rise: 11"

    Back rise: 14"

    Inseam: 36"

    Knee: 18"

    Leg opening: 16"

    New Cure, size 32

    Actual waist: 33"

    Front rise: 10"

    Back rise: 13,5"

    Inseam: 34,5"

    Knee: 16"

    Leg opening: 15"

Rescue, size 31 (NB: different size)

    Actual waist: 36"

    Front rise: 10"

    Back rise: 14,5"

    Inseam: 36"

    Knee: 19,5"

    Leg opening: 18"

This could be wrong for all I know, but at least it's good for comparison.

  7. I always wonder what would happen if you put a pair of jeans (or a t-shirt for that matter) up on a flagpole. I sometimes walk past these old, "worn" flags that have been exposed to the elements for several years, and they always look so thin and great. Anyone tried that?

  8. Servo2000:

I ordered from the European store, there could be differences between them I guess.

What happened was that first I ordered the wrong size, and sent them an e-mail to size down some more. Never got a reply.

Then my credit card expired, and I had to write again to change to the new one. Still no answer.

But then I received the jeans a couple of weeks later, in the right size and charged on my new visa. So, apparently they don't communicate very well, but they'll do everything for you. And not let you know that they did it.

  9. Was it the whole button, even the part that's attached to the jean fabric, or just the movable outer part that Acnes have nowadays?

Because that part flew off mine a couple of months ago and I took them back to the dealer (I'd had them for just a few weeks), and they said that it was a fabrication error on some new Acnes and then replaced the button with a new one. Just like that.

Apparently, the company in Sweden shipped extra buttons because this was a common problem for new Acne owners.

    Good luck!

  10. I ordered a pair of New Standards from APC online (the European site) two weeks ago.

A few days before I did, I contacted them via mail with a general question, but I never got any reply so I just went ahead and ordered. Unfortunately, I did that before I read all the posts about sizing here, so just a few orders after the order was confirmed, I contacted them again to let them know I had to size down one size.

Last week, after nothing had happened, I had to contact them again because I got a new VISA, but again... nothing.

As I said it's been more than two weeks since I ordered now, and I still haven't heard anything apart from the automatic order confirmation. On their website it says that processing an order could take as much as a month, but is normally done within a week. So, I guess they still have time, I just find it very strange and somewhat unprofessional that they haven't contacted me at all.

Anyone with ordering experience from the European online store? Did it take this long for you too?

Maybe it's just me being impatient. I'm just so excited about getting these new jeans, I want them fast! icon_smile.gif

my local ladies have been laughing at me for wearing skinny clothings.. they said a guy shouldn't dress like that but they do admire my courage for wearing those skin tight clothings..

  12. Dunno if you've done this already, but go to

    http://www.whyred.com/fallwinter2005/index.html

And click 'jeans' to see both black and other Dees (in the women's section).

They also sell them at Bubbleroom where they have provided photos from different angles

    http://www.bubbleroom.se/frontbrand.asp?intBrandId=40

Here you have to click the arrow in the top right corner (or below) about four times to get to the page with Dee Black.

You can also see the cut, albeit in yellow twill at

    http://se.zoovillage.com/store/productdetail.asp?CategoryID=0|0&BrandID=127&DisplayItemID=20249&Position=1&ListType=1

I have both the Hex Cash and the Dee raw, both great jeans. It seems to me that the Dee has a slightly lower rise (just a wee bit), and they're both tapered and tight.

  13. I have tried to search the different APC threads for info, but although there's plenty on the sizing issue, I haven't found exactly what I was looking for. I'm a girl (5'9", normal build) and I usually wear W29 in most jeans (W28 in my Acne Hex Pure, but they stretch). When I measure my favourite pair, Acne Hex Cash size W29/L32, the waist has now stretched out to 32" and is perfect.

I've just ordered the APC New Standard in unwashed indigo, size W29, but I still have time to change that. A little confused after the information overload here at Supertalk, with almost as many different suggestions as there are posts, I have to ask: should I go for W28 instead?
