  1. Today I saw an industry expert who told me a little more about what's happening with LVC.

Whatever else happens, I'm looking forward to lots of new intriguing items.

didnt want to quote the whole thing again but great news!

Am I reading into Paul's post that LVC might do some (purposely) non-authentic selvedge jeans. I'd love to be able to buy some Japanese style combinations of vintage elements. For instance a 66 style jean with hidden rivets on the back pockets and decent arcs (I hate 66 arcs but like the cut). I love the vintage repro's and wouldn't want them to go away but I'd really like to see them also treat selvedge jeans like a living, evolving, thing for modern bodies without getting as far out as the Levi Red engineered stuff.

you just described my ideal pair of levis. 66 cut (button fly of course ) hidden rivets, proper arcs. heres hoping.

  2. i agree. pound for pound ande makes some of the best stuff on the planet with his own hands.

even at the higher price you are getting your monies worth and supporting a true artist and gentleman to boot.

  3. Cultizm contest has started! So it's time to post some fit pics of my 1947 555 Valencia!

Before the pics here are the measurements for those interested!

    Tag size is 30x38 (I'm 5'8'')

    Pre-soak:

    Waist: 29.25''

    Leg opening: 8.25''

    Inseam: 37"

    Knee: 8.75''

    Rise: 11"

    Back rise: 15.5"

Post-soak (one hour'ish hottest tub water, hanged then worn till dry when still damp but not dripping):

    Waist: 28''

    Leg opening: 8''

    Inseam: 34"

    Knee: 8.5''

    Rise: 10"

    Back rise: 13.5"

    Fit Pics Post-soak:

Love the fit of these jeans, a little diaper butt IRL but that's fine.

Quite a different fit and roomier feel than my other jeans in rotation now (PBJ 007 w28, Dukes w29[could have done 28] both skin tight at first but 1" looser everywhere now), as the 47' i can pinch around 1'' anywhere post soak.

At first I thought ordering 38" would be too long and need a hem but I guess it turned out great.

Now all i need is a pair of boots to match them (maybe a belt too!).

    Comments?

    P.S.

And if anyones interested in the pre-soak fit picks, its at the very bottom of page 588 or here: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?p=2040056#post2040056

perfect iconic fit you have there. THE jean if you will.

Following all the fuss about 201's last week, I thought that a look at my brothers 201'a might be of interest. I bought them for him in December 07 and I can assure you they're genuine ... at least that's unless Libertys in London's been selling fakes. They're a size 32 32. Not sure how many times he's washed them... not many

    perfect vintage fade!

and PAUL. finally checked out your iggy book. fantastic. man after my own heart you are. i remember when i first joined up and you schooled me on a pair of the now famous thai fake 501s.

oh and just a hint about flasher cards, if they are advertising something that isnt even present (hidden rivets for example) its probably a good indication there is something up!

    My Tweeds....

I like how they are coming along. The color is best represented by the lap picture. The tweed yarns are really popping out.

These have enjoyed a room temp soak and a room temp hand wash with bronners at 4 months. They are currently riding on 5 months.

  11. jack, pj ladd is alright... but for me, i care alot more about style than tricks. i dont care how hard the shit is, or how big it is, if it doesnt make me want to go skate i dont give a fuck. most of the guys on the team just bore the shit out of me. shecklers style sucks, rogers style sucks, prod is so fucking boring... etc...

    agreed. boring as fuck.

and danny is a homophobe jock p.o.s.

    just give me gonz

  12. whats the next series directly after batman year one? read it, and i dont want to stop haha.

"the long halloween" was written to follow up on the events after year one. it concerns the fall of the mob (carmine "the roman" falcone) and the rise of the freaks in gotham city. it also has a sequel "dark victory" which ties up harvey dents story.

the tone is quite different than year one however. if you liked year one and want more like it there is unfortunately very little that compares imo.

but i would lead you towards a series called "gotham central". it revolves around the gotham city police force and batman plays a very minor role, popping in from time to time. in relies heavily on the more realistic "crime drama" vibe that year one had and the art is very grounded. one of the better stories involves the joker getting captured on purpose on xmas eve after going on a sniping spree. it is collected in a trade called "soft targets" in which "the dark knight" film borrowed from heavily.
