still love it every time though...
  2. This board is seriously going to shit fast. I think it's the fashion world in general that creates the problems we're having here. Too many people, too many opinions and no matter hard somebody tries to say "You're outfit looks bad" in a nice, constructive way...you still up saying "I'm sorry, but I think your outfit looks like shit". It's just how it goes I guess, some people are thrilled at what you're wearing, some people aren't. But as a general rule of thumb, I guess just not saying anything would be better than opening one's mouth and running the risk of looking like an idiot. I'm not trying to preach here, just offering an opinion.

    Back to WDYWT:

    Polo

    Gap

Levi's (Which are coming along nicely after about a month and a half of consistent wear. Pictures don't do em' justice though)

Some old shoes I picked up last year at AE for 9.99, comfortable as hell.

WYWT is not an appropriate place, to say discuss whether you like supertalk or not,

feel free to create a thread in supertrash, but stop trying to derail the thread.

I've been checking out all the great advise for months know, this is a great place to read and post...well this might be a stupid question....

I just got a pair of earnest sewn hemmingways and thier way too long (or I'm just short) but either way they well need to be hemed so should I wash them first or get them hemed with allitle extra length?

    thanks

    --- Original message by Luca5446 on Feb 19, 2006 09:33 AM

Sorry, I'm not up on Earnest Sewn stuff, but are theses Dry?

Anyways, if their unwashed they're definitely going to shrink a considerable amount, like tg76 said, you're going to have to take that into account.

Now there's no real way to tell how much the jeans will shrink so don't go overboard with the hemming. Too much and you'll be ready for the flood upon washing them. Too little and you can always re-hem them.

Please, I haven't touched NikeTalk in ages. This is literally the only forum I find myself in daily.

And my bad for the mispelling, I'll try and remember not to spell anything incorrectly for your sake from here on out.

Lose some weight and it'll fit better.

Alright bud, It's pretty rediculous that you're 15 years old trying to lose weight. There's no need to like a fucking Dior Homme model. They're butt ugly.

And now you're telling other people to lose weight? If I knew you personally I'd be worried you had some sort of eating disorder.

If I were this guy, I might go up a size...I wouldn't fucking bother with Jenny Craig.

Just spoke to a salesman in a shop which sold them earlier this year. He told me the owners decided to take them off the shelves because they sold out TOO FAST!!??!? Hordes of 13 year old girls came in and ripped 6-7 pairs and occupied the fitting room for hours.. Not exactly the clientele they hoped to attract.icon_smile_big.gif

now THAT is some wierd shit...
  8. Well, first of all, don't be taken aback at the amount of "Niketalk Hate" that runs around these boards, but Welcome to SF.

I highly suggest lurking around the board a bit more before asking these sorts of questions. Ironing your Levi's is not going to make them look any better...and please, don't listen to the Niketalkers when it comes to denim, it's called "NIKE" talk for a reason, and that reason is shoes, not Denim.

What you're going to want to do with your STF's is starch them and wear them. Naturally. It's that simple. Go to Fred Meyer or if you don't have a Fred Meyer hit up your local Safeway, check the laundry isle for Niagara Spray Starch (Heavy). Use it as often as you like.

    Ironing = Bad

    Starch = Better

Just wearing the shit out of your Jeans = Best.

    Cheers.

  9. The bottom/hem looks amazing, what kind of kicks are you wearing these with...almost looks like they've been walked on...like you were wearing flip flops or something.

Anyways, shitty about the crotch...I too am questioning the quality of these.

What about turning a straight leg into a boot cut? Can it be done easily? What about selvage outseam?

--- Original message by losangeles on Feb 15, 2006 04:48 PM

Nah, unfortunately, in trying to turn a straight leg jean into a bootcut jean, you're asking for more denim, chances are the amount of extra denim in the inseam and outseam (that bit of extra stuff that's sewn together to form the seem) that would be required to go from straight to boot just isn't enough...

One would think you'd have to add denim and doing that is beyond my knowledge.

yeah im pretty sure the ones in the pic i posted are Levi's...i saw another pic of him at a performance where the back pocket was showing, it was the Levi's logo but slightly different from the one today (the arcs look smaller and were white i think)...so I'm guessing they're LVC? Could be some Japan repro company but since i'm not familiar with those i can't call it.

--- Original message by Fade to Black on Feb 14, 2006 07:44 PM

Yeh, even the Sugarcane logo is similar to the Levi's arcuate. SOO many japanese repro co.'s out there.

take them to a good tailor, they should be ok.

if you want to keep the selvage outseam, which im'assuming you do, it'll be harder, longer and more expensive to do, plus it'll end up a bit off if you taper from the inseam.

    --- Original message by nairb49 on Feb 14, 2006 08:35 PM

He didn't mention that these were selvedge denim. Taking the outseam in a bit from the knee down should not be hard, or expensive for a tailor to do.
