  1. kix, I'm liking those a lot... how do they compare to your skulls? I feel like RRL slim fit and skull 5010 have a very similar cut, but I wonder how the denim compares (I've only ever handled RRLs)

and unlike some people here, I am a pretty big fan of the decorative stitching

  2. whoa momma... I love Paul T LVC photo threads!!! +rep for you sir!

And your idea about wearing 1955's tight is intriguing... I suppose that that was how all the greasers wore their jeans, huh? (i.e. undersized, high waisted and shrank to fit those suckers) I thought I was done with anti-fit jeans, but I just might give that a try if I can find some 1955's on the cheap. maybe at the upcoming SuFu Swap meet in BiG?

  3. ^I'm sorta glad I didn't know that it existed when I visited... I know I would've blown some cash that I needed to spend on the gf :)

  4. This date has been changed to coincide with another event planned this same evening.

    presumably the DD+1 debut...

btw, denimheads who are planning to attend this:

bring in some denim that you'd like to swap or that you'd just like to show off to people who will care!

  5. DD's should be sold with the ringring seal of approval...

Those take5xDD 501's are lawsuit heaven... and it make me want them more, lol

Too bad I never look good in anti-fit jeans

And the pocket bags are denim? CRAZY

  6. I hope by the RR on the waistband, they're not talking about RRLs... those are probably my fave American produced jeans.

Although, if this means that RRLs are "mysetriously" going to find their way to eBay at bargain prices I won't mind too much...

  7. new album is alright, but it didn't tickle my indie-hipster bone as much as Turn on the Bright Lights...echoing someone else's earlier comment, I wouldn't mind if they made a whole album that sounded like "untitled" from Turn on the Bright Lights

They're a pretty good band, but it's more their image and mystique that attracts people to them ( at least for me, it is)

  8. well, Duckdiggers are not the type of jean that you beat hard into the ground everyday (like APCs or Samurais)... I feel like they age very gracefully, like a fine oak cabinet. People who buy Duckdiggers probably prefer to patiently watch the indigo change hue on their long walks through a fine trail in the woods...

(i.e. I'm totally talking out of my ass and we're all lazy)

There's a pic in the Lightning Denim Guide Vol.2 that shows just how damn blue duckdiggers get after washing and wearing them for what I'd estimate is about 2 years... again, lazy / don't have a scanner at home so who knows when I'll post that up :P

  9. hmmm, can't really see the contrast (if there is any) maybe try outdoors?

Also, did you get your true size in the 1950's? I sized up 2 for my 1920's and they're a great "comfy" jean for just messing around in (I usually rock it more streetwear than vintage style)... I've being toying with the idea of getting the 1950 in my true size and wearing it around as sort of a more traditional jean

  10. Such are the ways of the Digger Appreciation Society, indept information seems to be difficult to get hold off and you'll need an "in" to fully understand the magnificense of these overalls.

But oh my, when you've obtained a pair!

You will be awed beyond belief by these jeans and they will exceed all expectations!!!

    Quoted for truth.

Hey, can we make one of those fun sig-banners that everyone else on the site has? I wonder how many people there are in the Digger Appreciation Society?

Once it gets sunny out again, I'll take some proper pics of my 1920's...they're beautiful, but I anticipate that their true beauty won't show for another half-year to a year or so...even after three or four hot washes, they're still darker than my once-soaked RRL Slim Fits(!)

  11. atm, i'm so add with my jeans that I don't think I could ever wear a pair that hard for three years... hat off to Tony for his persistence.

Also, I'm realizing that even though slim fits look better on me, straight cut vintage types seem to age much, much better (just because the extra material creates tons of creasing, especially lap fades)

  12. GF

The look on her face when I gave her my anniversary gifts

The belt loops on my RRLs ( there's a tiny little loop on the bottom of them for me to loop stuff onto... more jeans should do this)

    My promotion at work

    Fine French Wine

    Fresh Pasta

French Tea from The Mariage Freres

    Summer Haircuts

My new black captoe oxfords from Italy

Hot Dogs from Super Duper Weenie

    Sunshine until 9PM
