NEW BONCOURA JEANS! This week we have three new Boncoura jean models, one of which was designed and produced exclusively for our stores. The Self Edge exclusive jean is a new high-rise wide leg model made of their signature 15oz pure indigo dyed selvedge denim. We also have wide leg work pants made of a lightweight indigo denim and the Z model jean which is their straight tapered fit made of their 15oz denim. STUDIO D'ARTISAN 45TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION JEANS We have two very special limited edition jeans this week for Studio D'Artisan's 45th anniversary. First we have the TRIPLE SELVEDGE jeans, made in limited numbers for their 45th anniversary. They’ve modified their vintage denim looms to produce an unusually narrow fabric, measuring only 20cm to 38cm wide as opposed to the normal 80cm width of selvedge denim. This enables them to make a jean with three selvedge IDs running down the inside of each leg; triple the selvedge to triple your pleasure. To produce this jean they also reproduced the original yarn used to produce the first SDA jean ever made forty-five years ago, the “D-01”. These are produced in SDA’s classic straight leg fit and are exclusive to Self Edge. Truly a one of a kind jean. We also have the HINODE AWA NATURAL INDIGO jeans, also a limited model made for their anniversary collection. These are produced of a 15oz slub yarn cotton with a natural indigo warp and akane vegetable dyed weft. The natural indigo warp yarns were dipped 30 times with long oxidation periods, an anomaly for natural indigo as normally natural indigo yarns aren’t dipped in the dye bath for this long of a period with this made dips. This technique mixed with the akane vegetable dyed weft yarns creates one truly unique jean. These are produced in SDA’s classic straight leg fit. 3SIXTEEN NEP DENIM CHORE COATS & COTTON TWILL FLANNELS Chore coats from 3sixteen have landed at all stores. These are made of a short staple “nep” cotton fiber Japanese denim and finished with 3sixteen branded YKK hardware and bar tacked pockets. We also have 3sixteen’s Black Cotton Twill crosscut flannel from their new winter collection. THE FINE CREEK SHINKI HORSEHIDE MARIANA JACKET The Mariana jacket from Fine Creek is back. This model is made of a Shinki Tannery vegetable tanned tea-core dyed 1.5mm horsehide custom made to Fine Creek’s specifications and is 100% cotton gabardine lined, perfect for year-round wear. Fine Creek makes some of the most beautiful horsehide jackets we've seen. These are made using a vegetable tanned Japanese horsehide from Japan's famed Shinki Tannery, which ages in a fairly fast manner, and dyed using a "tea core" style method. The quality of stitching is as good as it gets for a leather jacket, and we've not seen many jackets age as well as these do. Depending on the panel they'll use a different type of stitch thread and thread count to achieve puckering in certain areas for added character. INTRODUCING WERKSTATT MÜNCHEN - STERLING SILVER WITH LIFE Werkstatt München, now at Self Edge! We’re happy to announce we’ve started working with Germany’s Werkstatt München to bring you a collection of hand-made sterling silver jewelry. This is a line we’ve been quite familiar with for twenty years and are excited to finally bring them into our stores. The collection is produced in Werkstatt’s own studio in Munich Germany out of .925 sterling silver, complete with in-house designed and produced clasps and hand-stamped (not cast) hallmarks. Similar ones are coming back made of a chrome-tanned suede cowhide in both black and indigo, the main difference is the new ones have a 2021 Vibram sole and they removed the instep strap. We're getting them in both black and tan in January.

We’ve been working with Mexico City’s Hermanos Koumori crew for five years and thought it was time for us to come together to bring you a co-branded collection of t-shirts, shorts, hats, and stickers. This collection was produced with original in-house designed patterns and cut, sewn, printed, and garment dyed in a workshop in Mexico City. There's a bit of misinformation here.. The margins are not what you think they are. Some of the lowest margins internationally are Samurai, PBJ, and Fullcount. More importantly, It's not the international retailers doing this, it's the international distributors/agents. Take it from someone who's spent two decades working with Japanese denim brands; it's ALWAYS the distributors, not the retailers, which are behind these types of sales policy changes.

That's funny because i think the exact opposite. I think chunky or large boots look ridiculous with small leg openings or tapered jeans but look great with a jean with zero taper or a traditional straight leg.

So... where do i start?
