@jkbrwn Whole fit is awesome! New type 1 is killer. the NB trainers also look great with jeans - super timeless look. Tried some on myself in person and did really like how comfy they are but in the end had family members in Asia who were getting some Onitsuka Tigers for themselves and asked if I was interested. Having never tried them myself it was hard to pass up! I'm sure they'll be less comfy but still probably better than my converse or Red Wings as I get the upgraded comfort pair with more support. Hope Mother Nature isn't too harsh on you guys out there!

I'm increasingly convinced after this pic that one of the best ways to rock double denim is to introduce a nice pop of colour elsewhere, like that great yellow hat. Love the fit.

@Cold Summer great fit! I think it was mentioned elsewhere as well that the lower rise compared to the s40s really makes them a very versatile pair while maintaining the quirkiness TCB is known for. Looks like you nailed the sizing and the inseam too. Glad you’re enjoying the denim, it’s got just the right amount of character for me and it has a unique hue to it - it’s dark like my 30s but has a bit more of a reddish/purple tinge to it. Excited to see how it fades! and hard agree that the BR chinos are simple but just fantastic to wear

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Thicolas Rage replied to minya's topic in superdenim
@jkbrwn @Broark @oomslokop Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll pop over to some local shops and try on the NB/Asics kicks you mentioned in person - I've seen them worn but never actually put them on myself. First time seeing Karhu as well and they seem great, very unique profiles. @ATWM If I could I would just rock boots in the winter and converse/birks in the summer, but I'm slowly starting to accept I have criminally high arches and likely need something with arch support to compensate. That being said, I haven't worked up the nerve to try barefoot shoes yet (although I am seeing more and more pop up) so maybe I've got it all backwards and have yet to be converted over to their benefits. -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Thicolas Rage replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Anyone have any recommendations for good runners that pair well with denim? Love wearing my Red Wings and flat soled sneakers but all the walking on hard surfaces is starting to catch up to my shins and I’m craving something more comfortable. -
@jkbrwn hahaha right? The stitching is quite wonky in some spots, especially the end of the sleeves. I have to really wonder just how ‘unskilled’ the workers really were and how much of it is leaning into the imagined charm of the aesthetic. @Cold Summer thanks! Just grabbed the BR chinos to be able to wear with my jackets and not always rock the Canadian tux and love them so far. Hope you enjoy the jeans, post some pics!

Late 40s jacket arrived in today. Super crispy still and in need of breaking in but very happy with the shorter fit compared to my 20s and all the ww2 detailing! The denim has a bit of a redder hue and is simple but hairy. Wrestled with getting the cinch back to buckle properly a bit but looking forward to wearing this practically daily going forward.

Ahhh, I had seen the photo with the doggo when they had the dog coat reversed to show off the lining - cool to see the flip side! Would love to see more photos
-
@blooming Looking forward to seeing some fit pics, especially of a full tux!!! @julian-wolf Beautiful doggo - you have to elaborate on the jacket! Is this a self-made project or something TCB sells as is?
-
Great snag, from what I could gather all the shops were having trouble getting any late 40s stock because of their popularity and probably only got one or two pairs of each size! They are selling out super quick, it seems any 'war model' is an incredibly hot commodity within Japan (similar to how the warehouse DSB ww2 model jacket that released in late december instantly sold out as well). I grabbed the jacket myself (I think the model in the photos is probably wearing my jacket as I got the same size hahaha) and just looked on the site and anything smaller than a 42 is already sold out completely. I'm excited for a TCB jacket where the pattern hasn't been altered from the original, should be a little shorter and nice and roomy around the shoulder and arm holes. Bears is selling them significantly lower than any other site as well...crazy that free shipping is included too.

I had no idea the cliffs were actually man-made - very cool and impressive tidbit of information! Lovely pics

@yung_flynn the sleeve measurement of my size L sits at 58.5cm. Deluxeware has it clocked at 59.5cm, meaning my sleeves are 1cm shorter than expected.
-
@yung_flynn thanks! Re: the sleeve measurements on my s101 I’ll measure up when I get home - I took a standard L size but I would assume the US sizes might accommodate a longer sleeve length as well. I’m also very intrigued by cushman, specially their freedom sleeve sweats and afterhoods. Will certainly get my hands on one of those in the future!
-
On another note, has anyone here pre-ordered the late s40’s jacket or received one?
-
The votes are in, I’ll keep the hem as is and enjoy the roping as begin washing them frequently. Thanks @blooming and @Maynard Friedman! Really enjoying the deluxeware sweat and pre-ordered it soon after we chatted. Will be recommending them anytime discussion comes up on loopwheeled sweats, the price to quality ratio seems fantastic. @exaptavist will have to try some of the other sweats they have, I’m sure this s101 is just first of many from deluxeware for me. Glad you’re enjoying them as well!
-
Thanks! I figured the chainstitch may fade as well but wasn’t sure to what extent so I’ll just let it ride and see what happens. Have had the s101 for a little over a week now and I get why it’s so well recommended. Great combination of somehow sitting fitted/close to the body but also feeling thick and heat-retaining too. Must be the modifications they made to the loopwheel machines to make the knit super dense. The colour (olive) is from this year’s release!

My TCB 30s just arrived @blooming You’re gunna love them. Super roomy and comfortable right off the bat, exactly the kind of wider fit I was hoping for. Couldn’t be happier with how they sit on me! Rocking a big cuff for now until I give these a wash in a month or so. My only (small) gripe is that clever web shop chainstitched hemmed these bad boys with copper thread instead of the original yellow, making the hem the only copper thread used on the pair. I have access to a local chainstitch service that could re-do it yellow (especially if I want a smaller cuff after washing) but the thing is despite between copper it’s a REALLY clean union special chainstitch that looks like it will rope very nicely. What would you guys do?

No way! I have a size 31 on the way as well (from Clever web shop, kind of stumbled upon them by accident and had accepted waiting for TCB to restock them). Also hemmed mine longer than usual, although that ends up being 79cm for my frame. Very excited for the cinch back as well.

This looks like what I see when I open up my laptop and my PC asks me ‘can you guess where this is?’. Beautiful shot!

Absolutely agree. Don’t mind hitting a learning curve as I’ve been relatively lucky with sizing online prior to this. Was banking on the thigh measurement being closer to some other measurements listed online for the size 29 but it looks like the pair I received was slightly undersized in its variance. Reading about FC’s tendency to stretch certainly pushed me towards a smaller waist size, but given my thighs (which aren’t crazy but are just above 24’’ at about a 30.5’’ waist) I would have gone with a 30 in hindsight and just belted up and washed them frequently as you mentioned to prevent them from stretching too much. I will always value comfort and room over the ‘perfect fit’ in the waist going forward. Thankfully I was already able to sell them off and recoup some of my losses, which have since (of course) been rerouted into another pair I’ve been very interested in, the TCB 30s. This time with a 34cm thigh measurement as opposed to the 30cm my 0105’s had so should be supremely roomy in comparison! Thanks for your help regardless .
-
Yeah my waist is definitely smaller compared to the rest of my proportions - also looks like I got a pair undersized in variance in the thigh (30cm at the crotch and 28-29cm below crotch while other websites like Redcast heritage are reporting 32.5 and bears whom I bought from reported 30cm when measured BELOW the crotch so I was hoping I would get a similar amount of room to the redcast pairs) which is practically the only measurement I needed to not be undersized. Might have to part ways with them as after only a couple hours my thighs were sore from the snugness. Have them up for sale on the community sale thread if anyone is interested for a great deal!

Contemplating selling off my new pair of fullcount 0105 WW2 Brown Denim edition in a size 29 (waist 30''/76cm) and hemmed to 31'' if there is any interest. Only worn once, just don’t think they are big enough for my thighs. Happy to give someone a deal and cover half of shipping from Canada :). If there is interest I’m happy to share measurements! Do note I did take the tags off but still have them to send with them will start at 150USD but can be flexible.

Just received my pair of Fullcount 0105 WW2 brown denim edition and as you can see in the photos, they aren’t exactly ‘wide’ on me. Funnily enough, they probably fit me closer to an actual WW2 repro then what I imagine the 0105 is supposed to fit. Sized to a 29 for my natural waist which was snug but has already stretched out nicely. Based off the measurements on Bears however, I wasn’t expecting such snug thighs and top block. In the side profile photo you can see they are borderline skin tight on the upper thigh (I can probably pinch about 1.5cm of fabric off the upper thigh). I was really banking on being able to size for the waist given all the discussion I see online about their generous thighs and also by collating measurements across distributors so they are already hemmed — hoping the magical 13.7oz fabric stretches out in the thigh/top block. Can anyone speak to stretching in that area?

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Thicolas Rage replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Any WW2 model denim jackets out on the market right now? Was hoping Bears would get the late 40s jacket in indigo but looks like it won’t happen until spring. Also missed out on the DSB warehouse release last week
