just had another look at those grey jeans I am wearing there, those were Calvin Klein jeans my mam found in the bargain bin at The Big W.. they were only £10! they started out really black, and I remember the tags had something saying that these jeans are "designed to fade fast, and go out looking incredible." so really, you could say those were a first pair of raw denim. for me.. but I washed them probably every week, so no "sick fadez"...apart from the train track selvedge fade. so also my first pair of selvedge jeans.
The blue pair I am wearing are Wranglers, those also started as dark wash. fairly good vintage fades on those, from not even trying to go for a "vintage" fade.

Aero Leather will have those cones sitting there forever. No one is dumb enough to pay that much… (I hope). Cone deadstock pairs I have seen turn up on ebay sell usually for no more than £210.

Here’s what happened with the 1937s:
took forever to get the larger size because Yodel lost the returned parcel (HOW are they still in business?)
the shrunken 34 waist looks quite like the unshrunk 32 waist, though I am keeping them up with a belt. I only bathtub soaked these, so room for more shrinkage, I just didn't want to lose much indigo. This fit definitely is going to work.

Nice little fades experiment with my 44s and 55s.
the 55s are on a more infrequent wash regimen, first wash at 210 wears, then another wash at 245. Currently at 272 wears.
the 44s are aiming for faster results or a more “vintage” fade. First wash at 115 days, then at 135, 145, 160, sea wash at 172 wears. Currently at 174.
Pretty nice results with both regimens.

Went to the beach to do a sea wash on my 1890’s and 1944’s. Wore them into the sea, covered them in sand, rubbed a little, and went back in to rinse them. Sat in the sun for a bit. The 44s buttons are really starting to rust.. nice patina forming.. maybe they were using cheap steel on the doughnut buttons? I was skeptical of the sea wash actually cleaning the jeans, but it does actually work.

Just was admiring the leather patch on my 44s. Its the best patch out of all I have seen (1890,1933,1937,1944,1947)
so I was looking at the tag to see if it said “bovine leather” or anything about the patch. Then I noticed they were made in Japan also, like all the other new stuff I have got recently. I didn’t notice at the time, I just assumed they were Bulgarian. I did notice the number 01 stamped on the button, and thought that the Bulgarian factory had started stamping them (as my 76s are blank).
now I realise the button says 3015, and it was just a bad stamping, you can just barely make out where the other 2 numbers should be.
as for the quality, they are just as good as my Cones, fading nicely, been washed 4 times, 170 days wear. First wash at 115 days.

They almost fit without a belt. definitely too small. Not that they wouldn't fit anymore, but I like that boxy fit. Going to try a 34-34 I think.

No.. I’d never pay full price for a pair haha. I got these from END for £155, the Type 1 jacket was from Stuarts London.
both tags indicated these items were made in 2021

Just as soft as any other model year, they will soften in with wear.

I think I’m starting to agree with you.. 60° wash could get it right

96 days on these 1944’s. Been wearing them hard since mid november. The idea is hopefully I won’t get to attached to a fit before the first wash.. and I already have got attached to it, despite sizing up 2 inches in the waist this time. Need a belt for them and there is plenty of slack so hoping for a good result after I wash at 120 days, is the target. Been wearing these for spring cleaning, laid on the floor getting under my car, plenty of time on knees, and as always plenty of walking. Fades are shaping up nicely as a result.

Just a couple of years ago they were £180, then they jacked them up to £210 last year (?) now £220! And they aren't even USA made anymore. Its like we are being punished

Just washed my 1937’s for the first time (they had a tub soak on buying)
fit came out pretty good.
