  1. I suppose this marks the end of Conroy's pieces still being sold straight from arc. Hard not to notice the lack of the Voronoi (which along the Feild, I always thought was the very essence of the brand) and the apparat. Been said a thousand times, but the denim looks interesting

    Thanks.

The only stockists for Veliance in Australia just happens to be 5 mins from my office. And just happens that they have a last pair of ALign MX in my size... hmmmm

The Align MX has the best-designed pockets in a pair of veilance pants, Cannot recommend them enough

  3. I know I'm kind of late to the party about the rebranding but here are my two cents:

When I was told that there was a rebranding happening a couple of months ago, I thought it would be moving in the same direction that Volvo took Polestar, which is very much so in the direction that @Inkinsurgent is speaking of: architectural firms and art galleries.

Why Veilance stood out to me in the first place is that it was the embodiment of that Gibsonian idea of "wearable architecture" and this was visible in every part of the brand. Veilance was akin to architecture in its design in its peculiar and innovative patterning and functional material choices. The promotional material (like the example provided by @damagedroid) was meticulously designed to present Veilance's commitment to augment the body in a way that I find reminiscent of Arthur Erickson's commitment to augment human interaction with physical spaces.

this new ethos feels derivative of a change made by other fashion brands like Burberry which are trying to get a little more 'with the times'. The shift just feels uninspired, like Veilance is no longer a trailblazer and has become more concerned with the muses of the fashion industry than ever before.

Veilance was important because it treated itself more like architecture than fashion. This change of branding says that this is no longer the case.

Would you say that the new ny/co versions of the voronoi are more durable than the terratex iterations? Also, how prone are they to fading (and do they fade evenly or will the cotton panels stick out like a sore thumb?)

the Ny/Co feels more substantial for sure, but I did have an incident at a party in a friend's backyard where I accidentally bumped a rock wall and it left a small hole in the pants. I've had bigger scrapes than that in terratex pants and have never gotten holes from it.

Is that the Sequent AR/LT? I don't see this on my Voronoi, Convex or Field Pant lol

Yes they are the sequents, my bad. Gotta brush up on my terminology.

What snaps are you talking about? As far as I'm aware, the only snaps on the waist opening are on the Sequent LT/AR?

These ones on the hips. They are there to replace a belt

For owners of the terratex Voronoi's and Convex LT pants : did you end up taking the same size in both? I recently purchased a pair of Convex LT's but they are a LOT bigger than my Voronoi's in the same size throughout the pant (calves, thighs, and top opening). I wear a 33 in Voronoi's and a 34 in the Field Pant and both seem to fit tighter than the 33 Convex LT. I think I might need to size down one or maybe even two in the Convex.

I found that the waist and trunk region are more spacious than their counterparts, but I think this is for articulation. Don't be afraid to use the snaps on the side to since down the waist :)

slightly more generous than the voronoi or indisce but not enough to change sizes on them. the double weave is quite stretchy and comfortable. most similar to the fabric used on the mainline “gamma”. it won’t be as good at handling the cold as a gore-windstopper pant but will be better than a cotton or terratex pant.

I would have to disagree about size. The waist and thigh are cut quite generously on the Align MX. When trying them my usual 34 made the pants look much more like something fitted for LEAF, but with a 33 it was back to the slim cut of Veilance. I would go down half a size

In regards to the material Burly was of course designed for ice climbing and should provide significant protection from wind. It is also very abrasion resistant (and holds DWR like nothing else).

  9. @scamster I usually get a 34 with Veilance and got a 34 for my Sequent. I still had to sinch one button on both sides to have the pants sit nice and stable on my hips. I have yet to find a position where they are at all restrictive

anyone that has had or currently owed both, does the sequent fit similar to the apparat? cheers.

The sequent is quite a different cut when compared to the apparat. The Sequent is much wider through the waist and thighs and is much less restrictive overall.

ahhh yes very true! veilance (particularly this new season) has been tricky to size for me because it’s more restrictive in the thighs and seat. i wear a 33 (and have room) in last year’s voronois and ARs but now i’m always going up to 34 (granted i may just be getting fat) but for people who are slimmer/ not as tall you may be right to go tts. i also think a few pages back people were posting pics of them in their field pants and giving measurements but to size off of.

I'm not sure. I am a fairly large guy, 6'1", 90kg, athletic build. My tts is a 34 and with Voronois I have no real issue with the thighs being too tight and I usually have trouble finding pants that aren't restrictive through the thigh and backside.
