  1. The cargo pants sold out in moments, but there was a restock.

For the summer season they limited shorts to 1 per person. My workaround was to wait until my order moved to shipped,

then buy another pair, the available stock lasted for weeks SS drop.

  2. Wanted the Nike jacket to be more this colour.

I'm hoping Nike have severely messed up their colour correction

Also, not sure if I like the longer cut at the back.

Nike color correction always sux. I immediately thought 'more green' when I saw that photo.

And the cargo pants are looking awfully blue again.

  3. Do you have any more info on the ACG collection? Hope the drop is this month or early December

Had a chance to ask a Nike rep that very question today.

“Nobody knows!†were his exact words. Seemed a little frustrated by it too.

  4. Dunno anyone who wears Arcteryx boots. I sure wouldn’t pay those prices for what seems to me to be a silly idea. There’s a reason no one else is using what is essentially a soft shell sock/hard shell exterior configuration.

The GSG’s are cop boots and a fairly good example.

Have you checked out the Hoka’s mentioned in the Tech Wear thread? A better boot than either of your options and half the price of the Arcteryx.

Waterproofing! I could go on for pages about waterproofing, but suffice it to say I’m firmly in the light weight, fast drain, fast dry camp. Wet feet won’t kill you.

    Embrace the suck.

  5. Second the Hoka's. I racked my ankle last Thanksgiving and wanted more cushioned boot so I bought a pair of Summit Mids.

Best boot ever. Plus the sole is more appropriately shod for cold wet conditions.

  6. advice: nike sfb (8 not 6) - old or new versions?

Original Soles. More flexible and comfy.

I never tried the new version, but the deeper lugs would probably help in wet grass/mud; old school sux in those conditions, but then it was a boot for Middle East operators.

There’s a few tactical sites that sell SFB’s, they might not ship outside the USA.

  7. Could you please elaborate?

i don't see any issues wearing membraned pants sitting still in an airco'd office environment.

Obviously rainproof pants are not a summer item.

A shelled pant is going to run warm. Polartec sells NeoShell as more breathable than GoreTex and by all accounts it is, but it still cuts 90% of the wind, and that means less breathable than something like a cotton pant with DWR.

Good stuff if you're a Hunter, Outdoorsmen, or Super Soldier that needs to pack light and stay dry. Sit at a desk all day? I'd stew in my own juices, but I'm one of those 'always warm' guys. YMMV

  8. 4 Season pant? 3 seasons for sure - if you spend your days outside. I wouldn’t want to wear them indoors all day long even in winter. NeoShell IS a hard shell even if it feels more like soft.

any feedback from the neoshell pants from tadgear?

i'm wondering if they're noisy or not and enough breathable to be 4 season.

  9. this sheet just show the first drop! as I said a few pages back they will make two drops for this season! so if you think your wallet can recover - nope!

Wallet is fat this season.  It’s the whole ‘schedule my time around the release of clothing’ thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on ACR.
