Warehouse Duck Digger Lot 469 snap hoodie, size 42. This one fits pretty wide and boxy, definitely a vintage style cut. Proxied from the Warehouse JP site last year, washed once to get out any shrinkage and only worn twice. Could pass as brand new. Looking for $140 shipped in USA

Is anyone here getting involved with the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome?

I signed up at the last minute.

Just got a pair of White's oxfords. No customization other than they did double stitching instead of the stock single. They did advise me on sizing based on a tracing of my feet.

I was surprised to find I'm an 11.5 C. I knew about the C width but expected to be an 11. Apparently some things never stop growing...

Also participating in the dome! Wearing a pair of Red Wing 877s from 1994 I stumbled upon from a local RW collector for a great price. Figured if I was going to break them in around this time anyways might as well take a shot at winning a cool prize too

FWIW I also recently got sized for a pair White's by Kyle at Bakers and was totally surprised at what he advised me. I wear a 9AAA-9.5B depending on the maker, and he sized me at a 9.5C. Also a bit larger bigger than I expected, but I assume that is just how their lasts run. Haven't gotten the boots yet but hopefully if their advice worked out for you I should be alright too lol

Not a good look on Yoshiaki at all

@Fooleo id contact denimseeker directly before you share the book , im pretty sure he asked that it not to be shared incase it causes more trouble for him

I was also a bit concerned about the same so I reached out to him via IG DM after posting. His position is that basically he has done everything within his power to protect himself and "officially discourage" anyone from sharing, however he has "no power to stop :) " anyone doing whatever happens with the file after. He also emphasized that it is "not a commercial book, just a file he would like to share with friends"

So…does anyone have a copy of the guide? Is this the one that was posted a few months ago in some or other thread here?

He put out an abbreviated version like a year ago, but just released the final version about a week ago which is a few hundred pages long and much more in depth.

Just PM me if you're interested, happy to email it to you.

    (FWIW he states in the preface;

"Knowledge has not been the most transparent thing in the vintage community, especially among resellers and buyers. Rookies can be fooled easily if not careful enough or mistrust a person. I am a believer of knowledge is meant to be shared and this is the most important reason why I started this project. "

So I don't think he would mind too much if it is still shared so long as it is not "public")

Dropping there here since it is irrelevant..

I know CSF does not have a reputation for being the kindest or most approachable brand, but this is seriously wack...

For anyone who might not have been following, a vintage enthusiast from HK put 2 years into producing this english language guide to Levi's Jackets only for Konaka to threaten to sue him and insist he take it down to preserve his own image, and prevent anyone else from gaining knowledge he somehow feels that he is the only one allowed to possess..

  7. I am willing to bet they are both technically the XX27 style from Cone, but just from production lots that could be very far apart. I have actually been lucky enough to come across a roll of XX27 that was dated 2006, and also remarked that it felt a little different than the R01s in XX27 I also have from last year. No idea when Roy's lot was from but I am sure within the 10-15 + years they ran that style there was certainly plenty of variation in cotton / indigo / machine maintenance / finishing quality. It is Cone after all :)

^nope, 60s fabric is unsanforized and repros mid 60s 501s, 505s fabric is sanforized and repros early versions of the 505, so late 60s I think.

Actually, I was wondering the same thing for a while, but Ryo from TCB recently confirmed on IG that the fabric for both is the same, just treated differently. So the 505 is the sanforized version of the same 60s fabric.

  9. YM doesn't produce for CSF, but he might handle their repairs.. He also does repair work fro Berberjin and a few other notable denim shops in Japan. For what it's worth, you can also buy his stuff directly from him via IG with the help of google translate as he does not speak english. I picked up the jumper from him a few months back, and he was super easy to work with. I would absolutely put the quality up there with CSF too, very similar ethos with vintage machine set-up and etc

Formal request, help me date these 501s... my grandma wants me to get an expert (that’s you guys, not me) to date my granddads jeans

I also don’t think i’ve shared any good photos so here you are, thanks

Looks like they are from the early to mid 50s. Double sided red tab + leather patch would have to be before about 1955 ish. Thats an amazing pair, super cool they've been held on to in your fam

  11. Just picked up the Black 47s from SE and have to say they might just be the best black jeans ever made. Totally worth the wait. Heads up to anyone else considering them, I got an additional 1" of shrinkage in the waist and 3/4" in the length after a delicate wash even though these are already rinsed. The waist is already stretching back but the length in the inseam sadly is not coming back.

  12. I have also been debating a pair of 505s for a while but the measurements on the site have it around 11" which isn't quite high enough for my preference... That fit is spot on @JimTheBrass seeing that there is actually a 13" rise on the size 33 might just tip me over the fence

  13. Anyone have some wisdom about the denim used for the 67 505 over the years? Specifically about the Kiahara vs. Cone debate - I saw earlier posts here mentioning that it has always been Kaihara, but have also seen conflicting points that there were also Cone versions at some point. A friend of mine is offering me a brand new without tags pair I believe is from ~2012 or earlier. Don't have any pics on hand at the moment, but they paper patch still has very small "made in USA" printed between lot # and size, which I know was eventually removed on more recent versions

  14. I always found it a bit amusing the DD line is so precise on certain period details (stitching/pocket shape/rivets etc) yet use the same 1930s banner denim for 40s/50s/60s models. Depending how its washed it can have a variety of looks and it is definitely a nice ~neutral medium for letting the other details / the silhouette shine

  15. Anybody interested in a pair of seaman trousers size 32 (not hemmed) ? Worn a few times and washed once, practically brand new. Looking for $100 shipped in USA. Happy to provide pics & measurements, too :)

  16. I got the jacket book + 501 book reprint, and am thrilled with them. Though they were not cheap, I would say the price is fair considered there is quite possibly millions of dollars worth of denim in there that would be nearly impossible to see in such detail, short of traveling across the world to Japan. In that sense they are just as much an art book as it is reference guide/text book for vintage denim. I also think the fact that they both have full english captions/translations makes them totally worth it
