  1. $395 for delivery by 1/31/3020.

If you like the shirt, with the guaranteed delivery date go for it. He is a craftsman, his craftsmanship on his heritage line is second-to-none.

I’m a critic of his previous wait times, not at all of the finished product. That said, I don’t own a cowboy hat, or boots, and from his beginnings that has been his target demographic.

This piques my interest... while wondering about the relevance of having ”regular indigo warp with natural indigo dyed weft”.

Hmm... did the the details change. When looking at these today on OD and 2nd, I only see kakishibu weft.

I'm realizing the 2nd hand denim market has gone soft. I haven't been in this game as long as some folks here, but it wasn't that long ago that I was able to move several different brand's pairs for a decent price. I have IH, TFH, TSG and Tanuki - all quality pairs, brand-new or like-new - that I'm trying move with little interest

Your multiple listings alone are probably influencing lower prices. Supply vs. Demand.

I have noticed you buy a lot, then sell them after something new comes along. I purchased a pair of IH634 from you years ago.

Are you referring to my jeans I'm trying to sell? They are not custom made for me, I bought them at a store. They were from a small run that WHR did just for that store.

If you're referring to someone hypothetical who had WHR make a custom pair, then I agree, resale on custom made-to-measure anything will be low.

When I purchased mine, 2013 or 2014, I was asked for measurements. Same story for when I ordered my jacket, all custom measurements to get the best fit.

I was referencing the reason for the overall lower resale, rather than yours specifically. I apologize for lumping yours in.

  5. @longshanks my OG CPO hits me the same way. Front and back are long enough that it looks to need to be tucked in, yet the sides are too short to do so. Maybe we have a natural waistline that does not work with the MF CPO cut?

I’m unfortunately facing the fact I probably won’t wear mine except how you do in the third picture, and that’s not my look.

    Might be selling time.

This is all known already. It won't change the attitudes of anyone who has the angry/upset outlook this situation.

I went in to it knowing what to expect. He is obviously a skilled tailor, but also obviously somebody who just sort of does it as a side deal at his leisure. As such, I expect a surprise to show up in the mail some unknown number of years down the road.

I asked him for a real-world estimate up front. He gave a roundabout, non-committal answer. I knew right then what I was dealing with. I still ordered the jeans. I'm in no rush. My taste will not change.

My only anxiety is whether or not he actually ordered the denim stock he said he would, when he said he would (which is as soon as I pre-paid him). If the denim we agreed on should be unavailable when he finally gets to building the jeans, I will gladly cancel the order. We hashed out a lot of things in a very detailed manner, and if the agreed upon criteria are not met, that's when I would get upset. But as for timeline? I knew all about it going in, and decided I can throw down $400 in exchange for nothing right now...in order to get exactly the pair of jeans I've always wanted at some undisclosed point in the future.

Not to be morbid, but what happens if you, or he, is in an accident? Will his family know to refund you, your family to ask for a refund? Do you have it in writing?

With wait times over a year, 100% payment upfront is not a realistic way of doing business.

He is only one man, and the product was promised to made solely by him.

At the current wait time, with taking more orders, and more “rush” orders, the variables trend to not receiving an order.

Can you imagine how much space over two years of back stocked orders must take up?

I’m sure he has the best of intentions, but there are many variables out of his control. Knowing that, taking more orders and more money is an irresponsible way of doing business. Listen to the podcast posted here, higher prices have not curbed demand. Every order digs a deeper hole.

What happens if ten orders want a refund, $5000ish dollars, is he not spending your money until your order is satisfactorily fulfilled?

We can all do the math. The monies collected up front were spent long ago.

If new sales dry up, what is the motivation or ability to meet already paid for orders?

Hell, the storage cost for two years worth of orders must be huge. Denim, thread buttons, etc... Moving it all from Colorado to Kansas must have also been expensive.

The thing that gets me, is that after I placed my jacket order, he advertised two of the exact same jackets on IG for instant sale, and at lower prices than what I paid, with very similar measurements to my order. Why not offer to a customer that has already paid? Unless you need the cash...

To be fair. I ordered from WH Ranch because the product is great, not because of customer service.

if the jacket is as great as my jeans, I’ll be one smiling, well dressed mofo!
