  1. Picked up a pair of spellbound 40-188b in the kafka sale. Surprised Spellbound is not more popular here.

Anyway it's a really nice soft 13.5oz denim (one washed) in a dark indigo hue. Deer leather patch. Button fly with branded top button and standard laurel leaf buttons for the rest. Unbranded rivets. Arcless back pockets. It's a clasically sweet but simple pair of jeans. Basically Reddit would hate it.

The fit is a regular straight fit.

I'm always a bit apprehensive about buying from non denim specialist stores like Kafka, End, etc as their measurements are always off. Kafka measurements were more or less spot on, with the exception of the waist, which was off by an inch. Probably could have sized down one.

    Tag size 31
    waist: 16.5in
    FR: 10.8in
    BR: 15in
    U.thigh: 12in
    Knee: 8.7in
    LO: 7.6in
    inseam:33in

Dumb beginner question - considering picking up the 105 but am a little confused about sizing. When size 1 is referenced as 30", that measurement is for the garment itself right? I usually wear a 28/29, so I want to make sure they're not too big...otherwise may have to go with 107 and get the waist taken in.

    It references the waist size

The Trump tarrifs are for goods imported into the US, for Made in America products to increase in Europe the EU or each country would have to introduce their own tarrifs on US products.

Yea I know, that's why I said the trade war being initiated by Trump, as from the language of EU leaders and officials, it's looking very likely they will introduce retaliatory tarrifs.

I know several months ago, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, said if Trump put in his tarrifs, EU would introduce tarrifs on products such as blue jeans and specifically name dropped Levi's (probably because it's the biggest name in american denim). I guess we will have to wait and see.

  4. it's security guards job to look at people funny.

Souvenir jackets have also made a comeback in fashion. I think most Toyo souvenir jackets are not as outlandish as other brands, and have a more muted look, which works well in the west. If you think you're pulling off the souvenir jacket, then just rock it and forget the odd people here and there that might give you funny looks.

Yea i'd like one of those tiger shirts as well. Maybe one day i'll come across one.

  5. I love the old japanese woodblock prints of tigers. art is just amazing.

Yeah.....I remember those "Hyaku Tora (100 Tigers)" Hawaiian shirts.....though it may be a challenging to wear it here in London. :P

nah I think it would look awesome. Aloha shirts are in full fashion right now. Was out yesterday in London and saw so many aloha shirts being worn

  6. Not sure really, but the art is apparently called '100 tigers'.

Some sort of homage to soldiers' custom A2 linings and popularity of aloha shirts. Buzz rickson's sister brand, Sam Surf, made replica aloha shirts of a shirt with this design from the early 1950s.

    any fit pic's?

Just took quick ones today, thrown over whatever I was wearing. Jacket length ends just past my belt line, which is perfect imo. In the pics it looks shorter than it is as I am wearing a longer t-shirt.

  8. Finally got round to throwing my denime pair in the washing machine as advised by @bod. Thanks for that, it shrank in waist and hem just as you said, so I don't need that hem and it fits great!

Only problem is the holes for the button fly. Top hole is fine, but the others are definitely too small. Trying to stretch the holes out starting with a pen

  9. Thanks guys :)

@Naoto Ver.2 I ordered it from Japan. It did cost an arm and leg (about £1.1k) but I got lucky with customs, because i hardly paid anything. On the shipping form, either by luck or design from the rakuten shop, it seemed to have been missing the last digit.

I got to 'collaborate' on this pair, ie. sit on the sideline while choices were pretty much made by others. They are going to be pretty ugly jeans imo

i wanted a lighter denim, in a wider cut, with more toned down features.

I'll be getting a free pair but i'm 90% sure my thighs will never fit into these unless i drop about 10kg of muscle...

How come choices were made by others? Was it just that the stuff you wanted was not backed up by anyone?
