  1. Well, I wouldn’t feel too comfortable putting my name on a product I didn’t fully believe in, let’s put it that way. But maybe they really do like what they’re doing and it’s not a cash grab. Times is tough out there kiddos, that’s for sure. It’s a shame we have to turn tricks to keep our hobbies going.

Maybe I'm not paying attention enough, but I wish more overseas shops, particularly in Japan, would embrace having sales on past or out of season items.  I've seen online sometimes when they do run a sale, which usually has a long line outside the store but not always available to overseas customers since it's a instore only promotion.  Fall/Summer/Random/etc sales promotions seems to be more a of US thing IMO.  Even Black Friday seems out of the norm for some overseas shops.

Last time I saw a shop off of a Rakuten have a sale, it was a going out of business sale!

I'd like to find a jacket of a similar design and quality, but with a more relaxed fit, and that's proving to be difficult.

Good Wear Leather springs to mind, but no idea how long the wait is these days.

ELMC Californian would be a good choice too and is somewhat readily available from ELMC, History Preservation, London Classics, etc.

  4. If it's something I really want, and feel that it will sell out or it's a bargain, I'll get it now.

I'd say, speaking strictly unscientifically but IME, most people buy clothes for the season they're in though. If it's hot outside then a jacket just isn't that appealing to my lizard brain, or vice versa, and I figure most people are pretty similar, even if the item is on sale and it would make more sense to buy it then.

  5. Honestly, leather jackets tend not to dry out so easily, but if it looks and feels dry then it might be. If there are any signs of cracking then obviously it’s too far gone.

Usually if I see a dry leather jacket it’s a vintage one that was worn hard for years, like this:

And even here the dryness looks mostly cosmetic, but a cleaning and oiling might not hurt. And then, if it’s not regularly getting covered in mud and salt you shouldn’t need to condition again for a while.
