  1. i'm pretty sure this is incorrect;  nice pics!

Hmmmm looks like you might be right! My bad....

Actually not instantly able to work out the exact composition of these.

Oh well, i'm happy, mrs is happy - it's all good :-)

  2. Cross post from the raw for women thread as all thanks to R & H for helping us with these - Decent denim for women is a minefield thses days!

Couple of quick shots of my wife getting ready for a Saturday night on the razz in Liverpool (a night on the lash with the mad scousers is a must do at least once if you ever make it to this neck of the woods). She also wore these jeans with a pair of duck boots and a big woolly jumper for a hangover clearing walk to the pub for sunday lunch through the wirral marshes. Next week she will be wearing them to visit a tattoo parlour in the east end of london and for cocktails in the sky at a london hotel. Ideal for all occasions! Not entirely sure on the makeup of these (nod to IHF123) other than it's a 14oz selvedge indigo denim called s-gene. The 'stretch' in these comes from the four way weave and works wonders.

The fit on these just improves with every wear, it's quite something.... Oh, and apparently they are VERY comfortable.

Danny, hope you are around next week - I will be popping in to pick up a 3sixteen hoodie and try a couple of the stevensons for size. Also, any chance the 3sixteen Kibata will drop that week?!

    edited for factual accuracy...

  4. I've used Aesop/ APC fabric care on my delicate/expensive clothes ever since stumbling across their (sadly no longer) mount street store in London many years ago. Saw no reason to change with denim.

I wash my denim the same way I wash most things - 4 squirts APC liquid, hand wash cycle in machine (30 degrees, low spin 400rpm), then hang dry outside if weather good and on a rack if not.

Not quite as 'fly by the seat of your pants', 'devil may care' as Aho's regimen, but I don't find it a hassle :-)

Really, really not a fan of tumble dryers though - I regard them as 'destroyers of clothes' ever since I washed a load of very expensive woollens after the pub and didn't check the dryer settings. All ruined. That was ten years ago and haven't used or owned a tumble dryer since...

    Edited for autocorrects grammar.

  5. Busted. Awaiting Customs Charging.

    Feeling your pain, dude :-|

The worst part is the inevitable journey to the depot in Croydon on Saturday to collect them.

At least it's pretty straightforward to get to (although I hear on the streets it's no longer by East Croydon station?). Now I'm up Chester way the nearest depot is on a very grim industrial estate in the middle of nowhere, arse end of North Wales...

Croydon?! Watch out for the stripy Nigels!

    Oi, jog on sunshine!

Looking forward to getting these and the subsequent 'blue hands' ?!

  6. Don't get me wrong Ed - I'm not having a dig at you. I know you've done your bit properly.

Problem is, it needs to be the sender who chases up your end.

Just worried at a 'missing' batch of parcels because, well let's face it - you can't just knock me up another pair of these can you?!

    Cheers Ed.

  7. FFS.

Seriously Ed, get down your delivery office before these all disappear into the system never to be seen again!

    Hi Paul

Upon further investigation I can see that this entire despatch of a couple of hundred parcels has not arrived. This will be down to an issue with the transit and not a problem with your parcel specifically, when the despatch arrives I am sure you will see movement on your parcel so I would advise tracking online and chasing the sender.

    Kind regards

    Hello,

    RE: EE513778129PH

I am waiting for a parcel sent by express 24 service from the phillipines.

The parcel was sent on the 7th April, and so far the only update has been at 08:51 08/04/2015, stating 'forwarded for export'.

Please could you let me know the whereabouts of my parcel and how much longer I should expect to wait, as 8 days with no updates is giving me cause for concern.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

    Kind regards

edit: removed end of email jargon.

  8.

Any EU/UK people located theirs yet? Mine are still in Manilla by the looks of it.

Nope. Still haven't changed status from being in Manila since 8am on the 8th.

I did email Kevin at signet (not that I'm impatient or anything :-) ) but he didn't have a scooby either. He just said that ems take their time to update the progress status.

  9. Hmmmm... Guessing the euro/gb contingent are going to have to wait due to the French air controllers indulging in one of France's favourite national pastimes - let's extend our Easter/Christmas/summer/whatever holiday. Aka a strike.

Keep the info/pictures coming those who can - the rest of us can live vicariously through you for awhile :-)

  10. Until seeing these pictures from Broark and Kiya, Stevenson were on the outskirts of my denim radar. They are now very much advancing closer. Fantastic looking details and really nice evo.

Luckily I am regularly in London so will have the opportunity to try a pair when I next visit Rivet & Hide.

As regards ordering from Japan over US, well, in a situation like this I will (obviously) just pick up from Danny. I have purchased a couple of pairs of Samurai from Japan, purely because there is nowhere in the UK selling with a realistic margin, and once you have added on the postage from BIG for example it is once again just too costly. With Samurai in particular there is such good advice available on this forum that with a bit of effort you can make a decent fist of getting the right size and cut, lowering your risk of needing to sell/exchange. I also really enjoyed the challenge of translating emails in both directions and building a rapport with the store.

If, however it was a less represented brand (such as Stevenson), without such a wealth of advice, fit pics etc, and I did not have the luxury of a UK store to try on, then I would either not bother and look at another brand ( lets face it there's a lot of choice out there), or if it had really got under my skin, then I would happily order from the US (or elsewhere), as long as the mark up was not insane and (thank you selfedge) the postage was included. I would consider the premium fair price for the option to exchange, although with courier and customs fees I would still be a bit pissed if that became necessary.

  11. it feels courser and rougher just like a evisu no1 fabric.

Thanks for that - after seeing the No 1's recently in London I was getting tempted, mainly due to the fabric - now I (probably) wont worry...

Oh, Ed and Miki have just 'grammed a pair - looking preeeetty sweet. Is it just me or do the arcs sit lower than usual on the pockets? Not bothered either way and I am certainly no FC expert but was just curious.

  12. Happy first birthday to my 710xx!

If anyone was wondering why I haven't appeared on the DWC - heres your answer... I still might enter just in the spirit of solidarity but I think it's clear there will be no prizes with my name on them! Please be assured I have no problem with this - enjoying every minute of the journey regardless.

edit: just to add - thanks to everyone on this thread and forum for your help and support so far. Its been emotional. Lol.
