  1. good man Bobbo I'm happy having introduced a Swede into obscure and forgotten Naple styler coffee making!

I am actually flipping over all the time too as my Bacchi is broken and i am awaiting the factory to open after summer holidays.

  2. Just giving my pair another 60*c wash at the minute.. tomorrow I'll take them to a local tailor for the first run of repairs. I'll have the crotch the backpockets and a couple other stress points re stitched with poly cotton. Still didn't make up my mind whether to repair the concho hole or leave it as is til I'll send the jeans to someone who coud repair it with a darning machine.

  3. Volvo, what brand of shoes are those?

Gunboats by Indonesian brand Prière. Pretty good for what they cost (under 100 Eur including shipping) but nothing I would reccomend if you're looking for sheer quality. Blake stitched rather than Goodyear welt, they have a very nice shape but the leather used it's not impressive (corrected grain). I was looking for a cheap pair of brogues for tours that I could squeeze into my bag with no respect so I went with them.

  4. Muahahahaha! In Italy they say "Un uomo senza pancia e come un cielo senza stelle" - "a man without belly is like a sky without stars".

In fact the photo was a bad photoshop edit by Foxy. That's how I really look like:

  5. Howdy gents!

I'm back home now after a lovely weekend in Germany at the Bardentreffen festival in Nurnberg where I also had the chance to meet Foxy and (very briefly!) Max Power.

Herr F is the coolest guy ever! After the first gig at the festival he brought me to a really cool cocktail bar where we had some outstanding g&t's. I thought I knew a thing or two about g&t's but I was wrong! My favourite drink was either Hendrick's or Botanist with tonic and a couple slices of cucumber. I won't thank enough Herr F for introducing me to the Monkey 47:

This stuff is just the next level!

We spent a couple hours trying out different gins and different tonics, while talking about the joys of life (volvos, drinks, coffee, all sorts of music from early sacred polyphonic music, to folk music to ECM recordings, and occasionally about Japanese denim).

After a couple hours I felt oiled enough to hit the bed but unfortunately when I got back to the hotel I bumped into some of my mates and other friends who insisted to bring me out for a nightcap drink, which eventually turned into several other drinks, bad idea... But that's another story!

    A couple pics

Another random pic of the gig I found on the Bardentreffen Facebook page, me tooting away while wearing a RC shirt and a Edwin denim vest:

Last but not least here's yours truly and Herr Foxy, sorry for the stupid face!

  6. I just had a glance at the measurements and they look absolutely sound to me, at least for size 42. The way the chore coat is cut doesn't allow a close fit such as a normal jean jacket. 22 inches pit to pit looks absolutely reasonable to me for a 42.

I won't buy it, oddly enough I don't feel the need of buying a chore coat haha!

  7. Haha I'll try to take better photos to pump you even more, I've just discovered that my balcony floor kill the white balance colour of my camera somehow. It look much better in real life than it does on those pics.

  8. Haha thanks mate. Just wear it for two years everyday, layer it over an heavier coat during winter, and before you'll even notice it will look like that. TCB 60's fabric fades easier too.

  9. Interesting topic!

Like almost everybody my main regrets are related to wrong sizing.

1st mistake: Red Cloud 425H, I went for the slimmest cut in their books, and sized down because I could cope with the waist. The waist indeed fits fine but everywhere else these are so constricting that I don't wear them anymore. A pity because the denim is amazing and it fades beautifully.

Here they are after only 3 months an one wash

I'd be happy to give them away to a worthy bro, maybe in exchange with something that I might appreciate, be it denim related, photography books, a bottle of whisky, coffee or whatever! Holler me if you're interested.

2 mistake: UES 400t. I didn't want to make the same error I did with RC so I went the opposite side of things, sized up! How smart. Ues are probably the worse fit ever on me. They were huge i the arse and thighs and even after tailoring them they're still huge. I'll keep them just in case I'll gain a few kilos..

General mistake: I tended to be stingy haha! I bought lots of cheap stuff rather than concentrate on a few important pieces. So I ended up with a good few lesser pairs that I don't wear. Life is too short to invest time fading lesser denim!

  10. I knew those pocket flap shapes were calling for you. the shirt has a nice "german cowboy" vibe, you will wear it well mate!

  11. cheers Unders glad to have you onboard on this. it is shaping out great.

I've just asked to Inoue san to set out:

    - a sizing chart

    - a basic description of the shirt with some extra details, just to whet the discerning palate of all of us sufu-ers

    - a price quote

once I have all of this I will open a new thread and we'll start to gather confirmations/pre orders.

look forward to hear all of you fuss about sizing for a good few pages haha!!!

  12. ^ haha you'll be in good company mate!

Further details ad they come... The denim used will be as close as possible to the original, and it will be selvedge. Have no infos yet on the oz weight.
