  1. @rbeck A personal favorite as well. Killer costumes!
  2. I have the jacket and the pants. It's a great jacket. The entire experience of the cloth in the pants translates perfectly in the jacket. As for the cut, it's a nice, boxy, properly short-cut Type I fit.
  3. Finally picked up a Ranch Blouse. I've been wanting one for years. It's the only non-repro that rivals the originals. Size 40 in the OG23 Cone denim. Looks like my Warehouse Type I will be up for sale soon.
  4. My preferred pizza toppings are very location dependent in New York. Best Pizza has an amazing seasonal vegetable that isn't conventional in the slightest (often some potato and artichoke). Old Lombardi's did it just right with garlic sautéed spinach. Rubi Rosa's tie-die pie is pretty perfect. Lucia nails a cream of spinach variation. So many good options. When I make pizza, it's usually sauce, mozzarella, basil, red onion and black olives. If we end up getting these jeans in-hand for a mid-December start date, I will be blown away by the efficiency of execution.

Looks good, @scooby! I have the same jacket. I have the matching jeans to my uncle who's worn nothing but 501's from the 50s to today. He loves them. Don't be afraid to wash it with fabric softener. You're not going to hurt anything, but tumbled lightly after using liquid softener should soften that dry, crunchy texture a bit and leave the fabric feeling more pliable.
  6. @bartlebyyphonics They're the Sebago Campside.
  7. I saw Basinski at LPR a couple years ago. He was fantastic.
  8. Busy, busy at the shop. Lil sweaty and knackered. All denim Games Suit.
  9. I was at this concert back in the spring. It was a cold, windy night sat freezing in the cemetery, but well worth it. The monastic vocals that swell are also being produced live by Colin with a microphone taped to his throat he produces those vocals while playing the saxophone. It's pretty unreal.
  10. I came across this last weekend. Mingus was my entry point to jazz and Coletrane's "Live at the Village Vanguard" with Eric Dolphy changed my entire conception of what jazz could be. Dolphy and Mingus together, live and in color is transcendent.
  11. Not that anyone asked for it, but I'm casting a vote for #WoMCon as the official contest hashtag. I'd been wearing the 11 oz 0105's all summer. As the weather is cooling, I'm rotating in my Leroy's and Mister Freedom Lot64 LHT. Both of the latter are White Oak denim with the 64's measuring up where I expect the 36 WoM to end up. A lot of top block there, but should drape better in the Shinya fabric. About to send those OA01's off to buyer so I'm net 0 for jeans on the contest!
  12. @UkeNo, I like where you're going with the styling on your pair.
  13. I've said before that if I had my OA01's to do over again, I would get a 35. Looking at the shrink b_F reported compared with my Leroy's, I think I'm going to have to go 36 in the 5150 (my actual waist measures 32). Inseam is TBD. Pattern shape (where front rise meets back rise in the crotch) and where the pants want to settle on the hips can make inseams variable by as much as an inch to achieve the same length at the ankle. I just can't do the wash and shrink, spend a week in tight jeans, get them all stretched out where I like them after two weeks and then be starting down that whole process again in a few weeks time anymore. I like em a little loose and comfy right out of the dryer. If anything, I'll need to have my tailor nip the waist in if the shrink doesn't go according to the calculated 8ish percent from raw to washed. All that said, anyone in the market for a virtually unworn pair of OA01's in a 33? It's not like we're all already here buying another pair of jeans we don't need.
  14. @frank, yes, I am planning on the 5150. Sizing up to 36 to get the desired dimensions in rise, thigh and leg opening. They might end up an inch too big in the waist, but I'll either belt it or have the waist taken in. The 36 looks like it should shrink down pretty close to my Leroys which is the ideal if we're going for repro dimensions. The 0105 fit isn't in sight for these cuts even with oversizing the waist.
  15. Welcome, @volvo240thebest! Good to see you again. Shaping up to be a lovely cast of Sufu characters on this journey.
  16. Congratulations, b_F! And thank you @MJF9 for looking after the other children while papa's away.
  17. Unpopular opinion - I don't like most WWII details. Pockets bags are usually too heavy. Rear pockets are often too small. Wonky stitching doesn't matter to me. Unfinished fly is unappealing. I prefer coin pocket rivets. I do love the laurel wreath buttons though!
  18. Ready when you are. Thanks for getting this together so clearly and quickly!
  19. Those Boncouras look awful, imo. But if the wearer is happy with them, I love it! Anyway, based on Ooe shrink experience and what b_F reported for shrink on his 411, I think I'm eyeing a 36 in the 5150. 😬
  20. That sounds ideal, @beautiful_FrEaK. I don't tend to wear my tighter woven, stiffer fabrics nearly as much. As much as I love White Oak's history and how their denim fades, the tighter and smoother weave just isn't as appealing to me. Those are common characteristics of the Kaihara denim I've worn as well and looking at the fade pictures, it looks to be a relatively flat denim.
  21. I have never been particularly excited by what I've seen, worn and handled from Kaihara. My all time favorite fabric is from Shinya (thanks @Maynard Friedman and PaulT). Makes that an easy choice for me.
  22. Now that we're narrowing in on what the denim would be, I would say that a 13-14oz red caste from Collect would be perfect.
