  1. i know montgomery ward was a historic company and all but i just cant shake my contemporary bias against it and think wtf is this???

    im doing the same thing...

  2. Hi Guys - I am looking for a fit which is tapered and the only experience I have as of now is N&F weird guy cut....and I have a few issues.  I find that if I get the proper waist then the thighs/crotch are too tight.  Getting a fit which is tight but not too restrictive leaves the waist slightly too big.  This is fine as I can just wear a belt but in general I think I need a cut with slightly more rise and a bit more room in the thigh.  I do like a tapered fit in general similar to the weird guy or even more.  Thanks for the help!

i dont know what the Weird guy fit is, but consider the ooe yofukuten OA02-0515.  ts a tapered fit, but not skinnyby any means.  respectable front rise and upper thigh.

    check them out

edit** just realized i was in the Samurai thread, so disregard that rec if you are dead set on a Samurai jean.  Sorry

I sized up one on my Samurai 710xx and I have a bit of excess waist room but the thigh and rise are decent.

  3. those are once washed so shrink should be minimal.  I would hit up BiG and ask about stretch, because while the shrink should be non existent, they might stretch up to an inch if enough pressure is put on the waist.  In my experience (not with Oni but Full Count) I sized down one because the thigh and rise were still ok and going in I knew the waist would stretch out easily.

  4. any chance you are still wearing these?

I had to check since its a quoted message from almost 3 years ago.  This person has been inactive for 1.5 years so dont expect an answer...

  5. cut looks a bit different but not by much.  Measurements are the same.  I thought the hem was smaller on these.  Chain-stitch coin pocket is nice touch.  Would love to see a chain stitched rear pockets like ROY does.

  6. to let people know that they're available at urban outfitters ?

you sure it is Big John and not Big Juan, their south of the border line?

All jokes aside, I have seen some random brands at random places pop up, and then disappear never to return.  I saw OakStreet and Ace boots at Nordstroms for a week, and then they were gone.  If Urban Outfitters does have them, could be a one off thing so grab them while you can if interested.

  7. I am seriously blown away at how creative your repairs are jyoni. I don't know many people who do the type of repairs you two do, but yours have to be among the best.

At some point a pair of my jeans will make it over to you, have had two unfortunate vet bills that has eaten up all my play money.. When they do though, I will be requesting some sashiko work.

i agree.  its more than just fixing a hole.  Its like breathing life into a repair.

  8. ayo Jyoni, off topic but you do repairs yea?  Interested in helping me out with my Strike Gold Hoody?  I want to patch the elbow holes with the Samurai 710 hem scraps I have.  If you are too busy, dont sweat it.  And I will obvious;y pay.

looking at the repair thread, I have grand idea's man and I sincerely hope you have the time

  9. went to Off the Grid again last Friday.  No jeans pics, but I wanted to continue the trend of proving we are the fattest nation.

Ox Tails, grits (more of a Polenta but whatever), gravy and a fried egg.  Looks like a diaper disaster but tastes like heaven.

  10. Im all about Warehouse at this point.  Makes me want a non cinch back Warehouse, like the 800 or 1001xx.  The denim has the perfect combination of texture, color, weight...

I feel like i say this with every new jean I get but this time its for real...haha  :wacko2:
