  1. I have a lot of fabric / trim options available, would be stoked to hear some ideas. We had the ribbing on hand, it's a bit large I think, but holds in place well. We looked at some poly blend options, but if it's too smooth it rides up. Drawstring / cord is always an option also, we do it on a few other bottoms. Any ideas / thoughts are more than welcome.

Flipflop214 - We work with Schoeller for some other pieces, I literally just got handed the new sample pack from Schoeller...3X is one of them. Amazing stuff. We build a pant with a fleece backed Schoeller right now and I love it. Pricing starts to really creep up there, it's pretty impossible to build domestically with those fabrics and keep it under $200.

I basically live in these things during the winter

  2. been a minute since I checked in here, been neck deep ramping up for FW14, but wanted to share a pant style I've been pretty stoked on that we introduced this last season. We weren't sure what the response would be, but it's been pretty insane so far.

98% cotton ripstop, 2% elastine. Tapered fit, 3" ribbed cuff, dual F-Stop pockets. All designed and built in SF.

Would love some feedback or ideas, thinking of doing this same pant in a couple different fabrics for FW14.

    More detail shots here.

  3. Came in here to post how glad I was that I'm not one of those people who takes professional sports super seriously. I watch baseball and basketball and all, but just passed someone with a Buster Posey personalized license plate...and has 0 relation to him. That shit is weird to me, people get all emotionally invested in a sports team that will never know they exist, and has no impact on their life. Fucking people punching eachother in the face over an athlete they will never meet. It's like the grown man version of being a one direction fan.

  4. I am a relic from an older age of rep points. I looked at it the other day and was like when did I get 100,000 rep...then was like wait, that's one million. It used to be weighted, so + or - would be stronger from users with higher rep. I think superdenim was the eventual breaking point of the system once they learned to jerk eachother off until they all had like 20,000,000+

  5. lots of words

This is actually a shared Sufu account, like how couples share a Facebook account because they think it shows unity, but it's actually so they can spy on eachother. We moved in together, and a cccccombo Sufu account is the next step in getting serious. I'll explain it in the djrajio dating thread later. And you should be scared if you come to america. What we lack in anime pillow fucking and tentacle sex we make up with cats.

  6. So my girl moved in with me and brought her 2 cats. They're chill, aside from shedding everywhere they're totally fine and I love them. One carries dozens of leaves in all day long and gifts them to us, and that's a bit annoying, but other than that they're cool. We both work a bunch so we leave the back slider door cracked so they can go in and out as they please. I couldn't handle the smell of the litterbox anymore, and I'm sure they love exploring outside, so win-win. Except there's a neighbor's cat that's started coming in, fighting with my cats (and winning, so even more bummed at him), and then spraying all over the place. Cat piss is the undisputed champion of worst smells ever. And here's where the dilemma comes in. So what do I do, grab the offending shitbag cat by the scruff and hand it over to it's owners and tell them to make sure it doesn't happen again? It's an outdoor cat, and they can't control where it goes. I can't say I want to hurt it, but I wouldn't be upset if something happened to it. I spray it with the hose when possible, but it's not getting the message, and I'm getting frustrated. I'm not permanently closing the slider door on account of this one piece of shit cat and inconveniencing the rest of my life, and you aren't allowed to "deal" with it now days because suddenly you're a psychopath. The social implications for hurting a cat are way worse than hurting a person. Maybe even worse than being a registered sex offender, who knows. I'm for sure not gonna risk it. All I can think of is catching it, driving really, really, really far away, and releasing it into another neighborhood to torment someone else. I'll probably leave a pile of food as a headstart and donate some money to the SPCA to clear my conscience, and when I see the fat old woman who hasn't paid any attention to this cat for the last 2 years suddenly concerned about it being missing, I'll "help her look" and tell her how sorry I am that her cat she might not even remember the name of ran away.

    Give me ideas here.

  7. that video is rad, and this is gonna go off on a tangent, but so fucking funny and amazing it is to me how easy it is to completely rebrand anything in a couple simple steps. And people fall for it. 2 years ago Quik was meaningless to anyone in skate. They've had a great team before, an amazing team, they make just as decent stuff in terms of "quality" that anyone else at the comparable pricepoint does, but none of that matters. The brand image as a whole has never been relevant in skate. But wait, someone in marketing had a brilliant idea (showcasing real LA is pretty rad, I'll give credit there), dub in some kitschy music, send a check to a super talented, yet not entirely well known pro, at least to the average skateboarder, and BLAM. Quik is sort of cool all of a sudden. If not "cool", than at least "tolerable" But maybe they'll shift to "cool" somehow, some other emerging pro will have a Quiksilver part pop up, and the momentum builds... But then the suits at Quik pull the plug, cut everyone, and go back to making royal blue logo tees for the midwest off price customer because that's exactly who and what they are, and will always be. That video would have been more amazing, and actually made me sort of like Quik better if they didn't have the glaring red logo the whole time. Just a quick hit at the end and even I woulda been like "I sort of don't mind Quiksilver in this element for some reason". But at the end of the day it's still just Quiksilver. Sort of pulls the curtain back on all the non-endemic sporting goods brands for a second. Nike, Adidas, Cons, NB, etc...it's all the same. Just marketed in a way to convince us all that they are authentic, at least temporarily. Full disclosure I just bought those Adidas Eldridge's on Monday, and they're amazing, but whatever.

I will give eternal props to good marketing people. The people who truly understand their market and how to speak to their audience, and they get paid to take something like Quik or Nike or Quaker Oatmeal and make it cool. Anything could be rebranded to make you think it's cool, and it's so easy. Given the right budget we'd all be dickriding MacBeth shoes or Arnette as something incredible, just if they were marketed in the right way with the right paid appearances in support of. I can't remember who said it, it might have been Gino or Mariano, but something along the lines of "I get gifted free shit all the time. The cool stuff is the stuff I don't get given, and still want to pay for"

God I hope that quote wasn't referring to Supreme. I think it might have been.

  8. ^ I got to check out the FB campus today. Ate free carne asada tacos, played street fighter, drank a free redbull and generally used almost everything I could find, and nobody seemed to think twice about it. I coulda taken a dozen macbook chargers from the plethora of free electronics vending machines scattered around the place if I felt greedy, but didn't. Walked past Zuckerberg a couple times, dude casually nodded in acknowledgement as he walked by. Weird walking next to and getting a casual smile from a kid wearing some shitty jeans and a tee shirt worth 20 billion dollars.

  9. bumping this up for a bit of info. I'm headed to Hawaii in a couple months; Big Island, Oahu, Maui and Kauai. Looking to track down stores to check out while I'm out there. I'm pretty familiar with Kauai, but would be stoked on recommendations for the other 3. I have a bunch of time, so down to see skate, street, better contemporary...pretty much everything. I heard Aloha Rag and Leilow closed? I know there's a ton of core surf shops, but any more interesting ones are still on the radar to check out. If anyone's in HI, it looks like I'm headed there in early Jan, around the 4th-17th or so. Maybe connect, grab a beer and jump in the water or something. Thanks in advance for the info!

  10. I shoot for fun, don't know much about it really, but I agree with the above. I really enjoy the idea of not knowing exactly what I got, it anything, until I develop. I love the surprise and the discovery of film. It forces me to be patient also, and really try to shoot something I find appealing, rather than just fire away. I completely understand the function of digital, I couldn't imagine trying to work in a commercial environment with film, but as a hobby I think film is really beautiful. I appreciate the difficulty and variability involved.

  11. fuck, so sorry to hear man. It's terrible when it's by no fault of your own or hers, just paths take different turns. There isn't any real advice other than keep your head up. What's the deal on her side? Just an opportunity she didn't want to pass on? I know you could probably push her to stay, but letting her go if she's pursuing something she wants to go after is really bold, and says a lot about your character. Hope you hang in there ok.
