This is what Kiya said on this topic (PBJ, Strike Gold)
Thanks for the info. It makes sense. I like both brands. I noticed PBJ had the grey weft left hand twill XX-011's a while back then SG came out with the 3109's. I thought those were similar. Again I back both brands and love the unique look of the uneven denim.

Those strike golds look so much like my pbjs.
I feel the Strike Golds and the PBJ's have some very similar traits. Any chance the denim is made at the same factory? I also noticed both these brands have deeper pocket bags.

What do you like about the 17 oz. zero denim?
I am really interested because I too have a pair of the black shadows AND I am still on the fence about these even though I've put as much wear into mine (in approx 3 months). That is: although I love the fit of the 710 cut and these are living up to the fast fading properties Sami's are known for, I am having a tough time liking the soft sweater like weave. I wish they'd calm down and look like denim already.
The more I see the XX 19 oz. denim on sufu, the more I think that's the Samurai denim I'd rather spend my time with. Unfortunately, I don't think they do the xx denim, in black, and in the 710 cut. I believe they had something similar for the Black Knights (which I missed copping way back when).
I really like this jean as an entire package. The details, the hardware, the cut and the denim. I actually like the unevenness of this denim. It's not as uneven as my PBJ's but definitely not smooth. I feel smooth black denim looks a little boring. Lastly these jeans are really comfortable to wear.

I'm interested to read the thoughts of anyone that bought either of the Blackhawk/Redhawk BiG Ltd. Edt. models? Have they been worth the extra money?
I bought a pair of the black shadows from BIG. I love these jeans and highly recommend them. I have a large collection of denim including Iron Heart, PBJ, Flat Head, Stevenson, Strike Gold, Ande Whall, Momotaro and these black shadows are one of my favorite pair.

why?
A friend of mine bought a pair and noticed they said made in China. He was concerned they maybe fakes. I told him that Visvim makes footwear in China. I have two pairs of the Serra hiking boots made in China. I was not sure if the Patrician's were made there as well.
If anyone has a pair can you let me know.

I just got a pair of 555-01's in a size 36. I love the fit. The top block is a little tighter than the 301's but still not overly tight. I've been wearing these on a daily basis for two weeks.
QUESTION FOR EVERYONE
The denim on these 555-01's is super dark and feels very much the same as the denim on my older 301's. I love the look but notice these jeans are turning my hands blue on a daily basis. I've had this happen to me before with a pair of Flat Head jeans but never with any of my Iron Heart jeans. I own 301's, 555-03's, 7301's and 9301's and have not had this issue on any of these jeans.
Any thoughts why it's happening with these jeans?
Has the standard IH 21oz denim changed? Is it just luck of the draw?
Any suggestion for preventing this from continuing to happen?0 -
ah man. looking at the pictures on a computer makes a big difference. i didn't even see the first picture on my phone. i'm definitely wrong about loom chatter. i personally don't mind that in my jeans but if youre not happy with it, are you able to send it back to where you bought it?
Not sure if I can return them or not. I emailed them so we will see. If not I'll just soak them and hopefully with some wear the skip will become less visual. Thanks for all the info.

I normally wear a size XXL or XXXL in Iron Heart shirts.
Would any of your other brands have a similar fit? Overall length and chest width are important for my fit.
Thanks and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Great to here on the Trophy denim. For shirts I like a length in the 31 to 32 inch range. I must have a long torso.
Thanks

Would love to see those Jelado flannels in a longer length. At 6'3" a 29 inch length does not work. Any chance to make a size XXL in the future? Would also like to see longer inseam lengths on your denim. Overall I like your approach. It's cool to see some new brands.
Thanks

Re-stocks of the the UES Red/Navy flannels sizes S through to XXL

These look great just wish they made them with a longer length. At 6'4" I can't go below 31" for a shirt length.

Hi Kiya,
How does the fit of the Stevenson La Jolla 727 compare to the Iron Heart 7301's & 301's. I understand the denim is different between the two. I have both the 301's and the 7301's in a 36 and wonder how the Stevenson 727 in a size 34 would compare.
Thanks

Hi Kiya,
I have the SG 2109's in a size 36. The fit is good for me. The 2109's did not shrink very much when I soaked them.
Question #1 - I noticed the measurements on the 3109's is a bit smaller in the rise and leg opening compared to the 2109s. Do you feel this is a noticable difference when worn? I ask because I worry the rise may run a little short after soaking them.
Question #2 - Have you noticed a difference in shrinkage amounts between the 2109 & 3109.
Lastly I congratulate you guys on the Portland store. Portland is a great city and now it has a great denim shop.
Thanks

I'm not quite clear on this, which jean is slimmer? 8301s or the 555-03? Are they more or less the same?
The 555-03's are slightly slimmer, have a tighter fit in the side hip area, have a slightly longer rise, have the visible selvedge outer seam and are $360 versus $400 for the 8301's. Denim is the same. I have the 555-03's in a size 36 and the fit is great. I would describe the fit of the size 36 as slim but not super tight. You can't go wrong with either. If you like a little extra space in the top block go with the 8301's. If you like the visible selvedge outer seam go for the 555's

Just to clarify, is it the 301s that are more roomy or the 555?
I have the 301's, 7301's, 9301's and the 555-03 all in size 36. The fit is very similar but the 555's have a slightly tighter fit on the sides of your hips (outside upper thigh area). I find the fit of this area on the 301's to be a little roomy. It's close but because of this I prefer the fit of the 555's. By the way I'm 6'3" 200lbs with an athletic build. The 555's also have a slightly longer rise. The visible selvedge seam on the 555's is also nice when you cuff them. You can't really go wrong with either. Iron heart denim is awesome and has a really nice soft feel to it once worn for a few times.

Does Iron Heart in Tokyo stock the 555? I know it's a special edition but since it's the flagship store I hoped they might.
The 555's have a great fit (very similar to the 301's) and have the visible selvedge. On top of that IH UK just lowered the price on all three version. Go for it you won't be disappointed. I have the 555-03's and plan to get the 01's once they get restocked.

Good news! We just dropped our prices on nearly all regular production Iron Heart jeans and some vests/jackets to reflect the change in the Yen drop. New prices have gone into effect today.
Will you guys be changing any other denim brand pricing?

Full Count Denim Thread

Picked up the Fullcount x Bears jean (B2014) on Sunday. This is based on the 1108 cut in the 13.7 oz Zimbabwe cotton denim. The cut is a straight taper style. Definitely more room than many of my slim taper jeans but still not overly baggy. The shop was easy to find using the directions posted on Superfuture.
