Gazeboarder, thanks for the pics. Im looking for the not so baggy fit, but im a really big fan of IH. sigh, which do you like better? even if your IH are too big? and others please give suggestions :]
The hand feel of the Iron Heart's is amazing for such a heavy jean. I normally do not like denim that is too thick but these jeans changed my perception. I also really like the dark color. My Iron Heart's are very dark. The Samurai's (S001JP) on the other hand have a great slim but not too skinny fit. The Samurai denim is very stiff and is still in the process of breaking in. I also have a pair of Somet 008's that fit great for that slim but not too tight fit. The Somet denim is very smooth but also a bit stiff. They feel a little sharp behind the knees. The Somet fit reminds me of the Nudie Slim Jim fit. I don't think you can go wrong with the Iron Heart

The Iron Hearts have not been soaked or washed. The S001JP's were soaked for about 2 hours in warm water. These did not shrink that much in length so I'm sure they have some more shrink in them. If I could do it all over I would have gone with the Iron Hearts in size 36.

Just to be clear since I ordered the silver rivets this resulted in the longer shipping time. I was very satisfied with the service from Ironheart.co.uk
Here are some pics of my Iron Heart 634SE size 38 (fit is too big)
and my Samurai S001JP size 36. My true waist size measured on my lower hips is 37 inches.

If you normally wear size 36 I would definitely try the 36 if you can. If your going to buy them online I would still say try the 36 if that is your true size but if you look at the measurements on Self Edge you can see how the jump from 36 to 38 is slightly larger than the other size jumps. I actually bought mine from http://www.ironheart.co.uk/html/main.htm because Self Edge was out at the time. My jeans took almost a month to ship but Giles (the guy who runs the UK site) was very helpful. I got mine with silver rivets and they look really nice against the very dark denim. I will post a photo soon. I'm really happu with these jeans but just wish they had a slightly tighter fit. I also recently bought a pair of Samurai S001JP. I bought these in size 36. I soaked them for 2 hours in luke warm water. The fit is really good but initially these jeans were very stiff. I can't image what the Samurai 21oz feel like. The fit on these is alot less baggy compared to the Iron Hearts.

I'm looking to buy some Sugar Cane jeans. Either the rainbow denim, Slack denim or the Hawaii denim. I normally wear a waist size 36 (in all Nudies and in my recent pair of Samurai S001JP). I've read that the Sugar Cane denim can run small. I'm 6"3' / 200 lbs Should I go with the 36 or the 38?

oh dude trust me i know. i have the same exact pair but ive only had mine since may and wore them everyday even through the summer. check them out on page 72 of this thread. haven't washed them yet because i want the fades to set in some more so that theres more contrast in the end.
I just bought a pair of the 634 SE. Mine are really dark but I due get some bleeding on my hands. These jeans were bigger than I expected. Self Edge calls them the perfect cut between a slim and full cut but I feel they leg width is very roomy. I normally wear a waist size of 36 in most jeans but was suggested to get 38's in the Iron Hearts. I have plenty of room and think maybe the 36's would have been better. The weight of these jeans is incredible but at the same time they are very comfortable.

Since I have a true waist size of 31 with medium to high rise jeans, I should get the 29s in 008s (32 inches) because the rise is so low, right?
I actually measured where they should theoretically fall (my hipbones) and it came out to be 33.5-34 inches!!
Does this mean I should maybe even consider the Size 30s (33 waist)?
I'm assuming the waist will stretch more than 1 inch, so part of me still wants to get the 29s (32 inches) and have them stretch out to 33.5 inches, but I can't find a definitive answer as to how much they stretch.
any help please?
I just bought a pair of the 003. I normally wear a 36 X 34 in all jeans (nudies, Evisu, Samurai). For the 003's I bought a waist size 35. I tried the 008 as well. The rise is much lower on the 008's but I would have also worn size 35 in these. In the 031 I tried a size 33. The fit was good but the shorter inseam length was a concern for me.

I have many Nudie Jeans. I'm 6"3 200lbs and cycle a lot in the summer. I wear a waist size 36 in all Nudie jeans. The Slim Jims are a nice cut that is not too tight in the leg opening. Most of the Slim Jim's are 100% cotton. The Thin Finns on the other hand usually have 2% stretch in them. With that I find the Thin Finns can be more comfortable in the thigh area compared to the Slim Jims. The Thin Finns are tighter though in the leg opening and have the low yoke style in the back. Both stretch with wear. I alternated between a few pairs and never washed or soaked either for over a year. Both style stretched in the waist. After washing my Thin Finns have shortened up quite bit in the length. The waist also shrunk but has now started to stretch again.
