  1. I am planning some Iron Heart 301S.

I have looked on Self Edges' site and even after contacting Kiya I am still a little confused ( I hope he dosen't mind me contacting the forum about this)

I have some IH 461 in tag size 34" and after wearing for a while they fit great.

On the Self Edge site it says size one up on 301S ( so size 36" for me ) as they run small but after contacting Kiya he says buy 34" as the 36 would be too big.

I also have some Flat Head 3001 in 34" and they fit great too.

How are people finding the fit on 301S and how are you sizing them.

I want them slim but not skinny.

    Simon

I wear a size 36 in all my denim. I bought the 301's in a size 36. The fit is good but a little roomy in the waist and at the side of the lower hips. I wish they made a size 35. I have about 40 days on mine and they have stretched out a bit. These jeans are great. The denim is very comfortable.

  2. I hear what your saying but if you look at the specs of the new Imperials they are very close to the specs of the Iron heart 301's. I have the Iron Heart's in a size 36 (bought true to size) and they look great. If anything they have stretched a bit and now fit a little roomy in the upper block.

But that's how it goes with fashion and minimum order quantities.

  3. I would go with true to size. I normally wear size 36 in denim. I got size 36 in the 007's. They were initially a little tight but the fit is good after a week of wearing them. I got the one wash.

  4. alright so I've been lurkin around the sugarcane thread for a little while, and Im really interested in picking up a pair. Ive had some apc rescues for a little less than a year and I really like the cut. theyre a straight fit, low rise. I cant really do the new standard type of thing, Im not a skinny dude. for you sugarcane experts, which cuts (that come in raw) are most similar to the apc rescue? or I guess Im just looking for a straight fit, not baggy or anything, but just straight and true. thanks for the help!

I have the Slack denim model. I believe these have a narrower leg opening than the other sugarcane content jeans. The Hawaii's and Okinawas were too baggy in my size (36). I believe the SEXSC06 is based on the Slack denim cut. The Slack denim is very slubby.

  5. I bought the IH 301's in size 36 which is my true size. After wearing them for about 15 days they have stretched out quite a bit. I think I could have worn a size 35 if they made them. The denim on these jeans is awesome.

  6. For someone with a bigger size considering these jeans, I bought these jeans (66 BSPBK) in size 36. I normally wear size 36 in all my denim. I agree with the others feedback about the top block. At the waist line it is loose but then tightens up. If they made a size 35 I'm sure I could easily wear those. These jeans have a a lot of taper. The leg opening is quite tight. I soaked mine for two hours and put them in the dryer on medium heat for 40 minutes. I was expecting more shrink. The inseam went from 37.5 to 36. I also have the IH 301's. For the money I prefer the IH's. The detailing on the RJB jean is not at the same level as the Iron Heart jean in my opinion.

  7. I saw the one wash at Hinoya a couple of weeks ago. They looked nice. I ended up getting a pair of the Slack Denim instead. The Slack denim had more slub than the recycled denim. Fit on the Slack was a little narrower.

  8. I normally wear a size 36 and went true to size. The fit is good after a 2 hour hot soak with a water change in the middle. I've worn mine for a few weeks and the waist has already stretched a little. I would describe the fit as a slightly slim straight leg.

  9. For people considering the larger sizes in the IH 301's I originally got the size 38 but found them to be way too big in the upper block. I exchanged these for the 36 and the fit is great. They were a little tight in the waist but after wearing them for a few hours they are now perfect. I normally wear size 36 in all my denim including Samurai, PBJ 007's and Sugarcane (Slack denim)

  10. I have the 710xx 2nd in size 36. I normally wear 36 in all my jeans. The fit on these is great. Not too tight and not too baggy. I would say they are slightly bigger than a Nudie Slim Jim.

  11. kiya, im not sure if i should get a 36 or 38 in the 634s cause if i get a size 38 in the 634s, how would i shrink them.. cause like i dont want humongous pipes around my legs. and would the waist stretch a lot if i got 36?

    Herbert,

I wear a size 36 in Samurai's, PBJ and all Nudies. I got the IH 634S in size 38 and they were way too big. The fit of the size 38 is a straight leg baggy fit in my opinion.

  12. Iron Heart 301S Slim Selvedge & 9301 Slim Super Black Jeans

After ten years of producing the most intensely heavy weight jeans in the world, Iron Heart has introduced their first slim cut jean. This is answer for anybody looking for a slim jean that will last far longer than any other jean in the world.

The 301S by Iron Heart is their newest flagship slim model with the silhouette designed by both Self Edge and Iron Heart; finally bringing their signature 21 ounce selvedge denim to a slim cut jean with a longer inseam than Iron Heart's past models. These are made with hand picked Zimbabwe Cotton that is known for it's unusually long fibers which give this denim a super soft hand. Due to the slim cut of the jean, there is no selvedge out-seam, but the denim itself is the usual 21oz selvedge denim that Iron Heart produces.

Also available is the 9301, a 22 ounce black denim version of the 301S with black stitch, black arcuates, black leather tag, and a red outseam inner stitch.

Iron Heart denim is known for it's ultra sheen and extreme durability due to it's heavy weight. Almost any other company attempting to produce denim this heavy would end up with a very stiff and rigid fabric, where as Iron Heart's denim is suprisingly pliable considering it's weight.

Photographed and modeled by Sidney Lo.

These are now available in-store and in our online store from sizes 28 to 38 in both black and indigo. Check the online store for more photos, specs, and measurements:

    Kiya,

I bought a pair of the 634S in size 38. I normally wear size 36 in all my denim including Samurai, PBJ and Nudies. The 634S in size 38 were way too big. The size 36 in the new 301S looks like they will be tight. I normally wear my denim for a very long time before washing them. Do you think it would be possible to stretch the size 36 into a comfortable fit? I would really like to buy these jeans but do not want to end up with a second pair of IH size 38's that do not work for me.

  13. I'm assuming you're talking about the RJB 19cm that comes out next month, if so...

They will cost about $310, and they'll be more tapered than the IH slim jeans, even though the IH cut is still quite slim. Quality wise, they'll last you, but knowing IH's track record, they'll still outlast any other jean due to their stitching and denim weight.

    Kiya,

How is the leg opening on these new Iron Heart's in the larger sizes. I feel a lot of the Japanese denim grades out too big in the larger sizes. As an example the 634 looks nice in a size 32 with an 8.6 leg opening. On the other end of the spectrum I was suggested to get a size 38 (up from my normal size of 36) in the 634 and these ended up being way too big. In size 38 I would call the 634's a baggy fit. Will these new cuts stay true to the cut in the larger sizes. I love this denim but need to find a better fit. Thanks

  14. I'm selling a pair of Iron Heart 634S 21oz Straight cut indigo denim jeans in size 38. I bought these jeans through the Iron Heart UK website. I bought them with the special silver rivets. I love the jeans but the size is too big. I normally wear size 36 and was suggested to get the 38. If your interested please make a bid on Ebay see below.

  15. Im kinda worried. I bought the indigo selvedge in 28 and I can button it up all the way but it still feels tight. How long does it generally take for raw denim to stretch? Ive had it for the past 2 days and pretty much wear it around the house all the time.

Try wearing more than one pair of underwear while wearing the jeans. You can do this around the house and tell your wife or girl friend that you need to do a denim workout.

  16. i mean like its really stiff, and theres still some creases from shipping/other people trying it on

    would soaking get those out?

I soaked my 018 even though they are sanforized. It did make the denim slightly softer. I soaked them in warm to hot water for about an hour. The crispy feeling behind the knee was reduced. I've now worn mine for a few days and they are more comfortable.

  17. I'm definitely getting close to buying one now. I just love the look of the 007s.

I hate to repeat questions but I've read through enough threads and still not sure, so I'm just gonna ask.

    1. If you buy the pre-soaked version, do you need to buy the true size? I bought APC NC 31 and fits perfect so far. I didn't want to size down too much because I wanted to be able to button them. I usually wear 31 in levis capital E jeans. Suggestions?

    2. If I buy raw version, do I buy true size and shrink them? reading the measurement, it seems like they're bigger than what's listed.

    3. How do you dry them anyways? hang them or wear them? doesn't it feel weird wearing them while its wet?

    4. Lastly, I want them to feel comfortable and not too tight. I have plenty of fitted jeans (NC, capital Es.. etc.) that I want these to be "well fit" casual. I saw a post where the member purchased one size up. If you buy size up that fits with slight room, how would they even stretch?

I'm definitely going to go for the 007s because I love the color of them. I'm so sick of buying denims with orange stitching.. it's like every jeans have orange stitching these days.

I have the 007's in a size 36 (one wash). This was my normal true size. I agree with the comments about the thighs being tight. My initial waist fit was tight but has stretched to a comfortable fit. I find the pockets to be very tight on these jeans. I also agree that the leg opening is a little big. The cut almost looks like a slight boot cut (with the knees being slightly narrower than the leg opening / at least in the larger size). The color is great but is not as versatile as a regular raw denim. The feel of this denim is great. This denim will also make your hands blue if you frequently use the pockets.

  18. Thought of getting the 008..

    i'm a true size 32, should i get 29 in 008 (as it measures 32 from big)..?

I'm worry that it will be too small since it's a low rise

    Please suggest...

I have the 018 Black selvedge in a size 35. I normally wear a 36 in most other jeans. These were initially tight and stiff but have stretched and are now comfortable to a little loose. The rise is definitely lower than many other jeans. The denim weave is very tight and feels very smooth.

  19. In a sense, you're right. It is a genuine straight jean. There is no real taper from the knee down.

But to say it's a regular fitting jean is a bit off. These are cut slim, slimmer than most in the thigh area, regardless of size. The leg opening isn't huge, it just isn't tapered. I don't know. I don't judge a slim fitting jean simply from the leg opening. Because seriously, the xx-005 is my skinniest pair of jeans.

Maybe the sizing of the jean changes drastically in the larger sizes. I guess I'm just speaking from my experience (a size 28).

I have a pair of the XX007's one wash in size 36. The fit is fine in the waist but I do notice them to be a little snug in the thighs. I was initial surprised that the rise felt lower than I expected. I feel the leg opening is okay but would be better if it was slightly narrower. I feel like the leg opening almost looks wider than the width at the knee. The feel of this jean is great.

  20. I usually wear 38 or 36 in most jeans and I got S5000VX in size 38. I wish samurai made a size 37, because after 6 or so weeks of wear I can pull them off without unbuttoning, whereas just after a wash it's a struggle to get the top button done. For the bigger guys interested in the VX denim - get your regular size because the jeans will stretch and shrink continuously as you wash them.

    My experience anyways...

I normally wear size 36 jeans in all brands. All my Nudie jeans are size 36. I recently bought a pair of Samurai S001JP. These have the same cut as the S5000. I bought these in size 36. The initial fit was tight after a 1 hour soak. I've worn them now for a few weeks and the fit is good with a little room. I expect they will continue to stretch a little.

  21. Sorry if this has been covered, but I haven't seen it anywhere. Anyways, I'm thinking about ordering a pair of 634S Ironhearts soon, but I really don't like streaky denim. Most of the photos I see the denim looks pretty even in tone, but every once in a while I'll see a pic like Guy H's below where the denim looks incredibly streaky. Are these pics just older versions, or is this pretty close to how the denim looks in real life? Thanks for any help.

I agree with everyone's comments. Mine are not streaky at all and are very dark compared to some of my other denim.

I wish they would come out with a narrower cut jean in this same denim that remains narrow for larger sizes (34,36,38). 8.5 to 9 would be great for the leg opening.

  22. Is the 634 cut pretty slim? The Flathead SE05BSPs fit me really well so I'm looking for a cut similar to that.

In the larger waist size I would not consider these a slim cut. I normally wear a 36 waist and was suggested to get a size 38 in the 634SE. In this size the jeans are very baggy. As a comparison they have more room in the thigh and leg opening than my Samurai's S5000BK. I would call the 634SE in the larger waist sizes a baggy straight leg fit. If you normally wear size 36 in your jeans do not size up on the Iron Heart 634SE.
