I'm pretty much with house and thomas. At the end of the day, I still love LVC. The hardware does seem cheaper IMO, but it's still not enough for me to be upset. Also because I got a helluva deal. Like many of you, I would never pay full price for most of the popular cuts, as there's always a deal to be had.
As far as Levis repros, I do think Warehouse is about as good as it gets, but it's still not Levi's. Levi's still does their repros better than anyone else because they can. For jeans cuts from the 40s and above, you probably could (should?) look elsewhere, but have you seen the shit roy6 wears? I hate fawning over another man's style, but the Levis repro items he wears always looks... wonderfully vintage. Unless the quality turns to absolute shit, I'll still buy LVC (though not any jeans because it's obvious I have too many pairs already).
Edit: goom-- the 2011 rigid are made in the USA.

I think the bald truth is that it's popularity has been on a downward spiral during the course of the 21st century.
... As some celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears will attest.
Adding fuel to the fire.

Waist shrank from about a 33.5 to 32.25
Legs tightened up (sorry, forgot to measure)
Inseam from 32 to 31.5
Hem went from about 7.75 to 7.25

Post wash pics. Warm/cold on gentle cycle with Woolite Dark, 15 minutes low tumble dry, and I wore it lightly damp.

I have always thought that the States should not standardize on the metric system, but rather on the cunt hair system. It really has stood the test of time.
Although the 70s proved quite a challenge, as some periodicals from that era attest.

Jealous, man. I haven't been able to whip out my board this winter at all.

I'd send you one, beatle, if I thought I could somehow preserve it well enough.
So I meant to throw the AWs in the wash yesterday, but they ended up sitting in the laundry bin 'cuz a buddy needed a ride to the airport. They're in the wash now: cold/warm gentle cycle. The knee-puckering has to go!
Dinner: Korean japchae and a rum cake my friend Betsy made for me.
Trying to keep this thread going. I'm a post-grad desk jockey working 8-9 hour days like the rest of you punks, so no excuses. Get yer shit together and get in on this! We don't need a ton of pics, but make it interesting.

Dug this out of my email archive just for shits and giggles. From Roy to a noob with regard to washing/drying the OG jeans:
You have choices. I always wash them in hot inside out in the machine and tumble dry. This is because I like how the combo crinkles up the denim and rinses all the excess indigo out. Plus my tub can't take any more jeans soaking, what with the fibers clogging the drain. So, that what I do. I also like to get all the shrink out of them, and the washing machine on hot really shrinks them up good.
The accepted method is to run a hot bath and soak them for 20 minutes then ring them out and hang to dry.
This is a great way to do it.
You can also wear them without shrinking them first and just turn up the cuff. I do that sometimes too because they have a different fit and I like that as a change of pace. Then eventually wash them. they might develop a better patina that way if you wore them a long time because you give the wear areas a head start on abrasion.
Later when you do wash them to clean them, wash cold inside out and hang dry. This preserves the fabric. I never do this because I'm lazy in weird ways like this. I just wash them with all my other clothes in hot and tumble dry. I only tell you this so I don't feel like a hypocrite.
I love that last part.

Kay and red dragon-- great fits on both of ya.

I think it's probably because they haven't been soaked yet. The fit and shape of unsanforized jeans can be a little wonky. I would be surprised if Roy hadn't already worked out the fit before manufacturing them for sale.
Not the best example, but here's a pic of some raw, STF LVC '47s on a model. You can see where the fabric gathers. Just let 'em shrink-- they'll be fine.

Let's see some pics.

I'll let you know in about a week. Pics?

I did the back and forth with Roy for the OGs but never got the sense of getting to know him, at least not in the sense through similar limited interactions with Victor at Raleigh Denim or Tony at Tellason. I don't take it as a negative, just a different way of getting to know someone because personalities differ. Dude is certainly kind, thoughtful, and has an odd sense of humor, which I like. Aloof.
And a genius.

Just a teaser, but I had to throw in something. Got the RN03 via mail on New Year's Eve but they need some additional work on the hems. It'll be another week before I can post some fit pics. Many thanks to Kiya for his help.

Haha thanks, b_f. Forgot to post this one up. Another fit pic of the Caribous.
It's a bit ridiculous to post a picture of a toast, but the sentiment is genuine, I assure you.
Here's to you, Ande Whall.
