  1. We have received two brand new jeans from Pure Blue Japan, a pocket tee and two beautiful shirts that combine its unrivalled prowess in intricate fabric development and indigo dyeing.

It's only when you look close that you see the Boro patch work design of the Woven Jacquard Patch shirt with the different weaves and textures. It has been indigo dyed - the PBJ way - and is destined to look amazing with plenty of wear.

The ultra soft double gauze indigo-dyed shirt is a two layer woven fabric.
One side is woven using rope dyed indigo yarns, and the other side is a woven stripe pattern using color yarns. The pattern looks like a blanket lining.

Along with a restock of the indigo dyed round crew neck T shirts we have also introduced a new pocket version featuring a denim pocket on the chest that is riveted with a leather washer and a selvedge id across the top.

  2. Indigofera's Japanese Gunpowder Selvedge denim is popular in whatever iteration and we're sure that the Kyle Sherpa jacket will be a hit in this fabric. This is a cross between a short Ranch jacket and a Trucker jacket.
The garment features two outer chest pockets Type 3 style and is lined with a traditional sherpa lining for warmth in the colder months.

Two more ultra heavy flannels from Iron Heart arrived this week. Due to popular demand we have restocked the blue ombre from last year and also received the grey ombre which we're confident will be a big hit too.

  3. Our new collection of Chup Socks have arrived. Chup Socks FW16 have arrived and are as cheerfully full of colour as ever. The stitching on the toe and heel seams are done with a single thread using a hand linking machine. They are super soft and comfortable. Diversity celebrated via hosiery.

  4. Today sees the launch of the first autumn 16 drop from 3sixteen and it is one of our favourite collections to date.

The fatigue overshirts come in hefty Japanese loomed fabrics in a navy herringbone and frogskin camo (with desert camo interior) The shirts can be layered and can serve as a jacket. They feature 2 chest pockets with buttons plus a pen pocket by the left hand pocket and the signature crosscut yoke design on the back.

The crosscut flannel is back in a very mellow black ombre. The Japanese milled 100% cotton fabric is brushed once on the face and the shirt has 2 angles chest pockets.

3sixteen has teamed up with Chup Socks of Tokyo whose speciality is flat-seamed socks created using a unique hand-linking machine and famed for its colourful designs. This version uses a mixture of colours including natural indigo.

  5.

On a more positive note, I'm looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Rivet collab, b_F - I want a pair of those too but I'm worried that they're too tight in the knee (they measure about the same as my Nudie Thin Finns, but those are made of lighter, stretchy denim.) If I were able to actually drop by the store I'd try those on in a heartbeat - everything else looks great, measurements-wise.

The left hand twill denim and loose weave is even more comfortable than I envisaged which makes the slim knee fit workable. Within a couple of wears it really softens up and relaxes around the knee.

  6. We celebrate the arrival of the new season's Indigofera blankets with a special event at our Windmill Street store on Wednesday 19th October from 7pm until 9pm (ish). Mats Anderson, owner and founder of Indigofera will be here to give a short talk about what goes into the design and production of these beautiful 100% wool blankets from Norway.

We will be serving beers and you'll get the chance to talk to Mats who is without doubt one of the nicest guys in the denim business.

Just send an email to [email protected] if you wish to attend. That way we'll know how many beers to get in!

  7. Apart from great company there are a few things that can enhance the comfort of any relaxing experience. A cold beer or a glass of fine wine in the comfort of your own home. A movie on the sofa. Good music at an outdoor venue. An absorbing book. Spectacular surroundings. A campfire. A sunny day at the beach. A sunset over a favourite view. There is something else that you might not have thought of that will contribute to and improve ALL these circumstances – a blanket of the finest Norwegian wool from the guys at Indigofera.

We are both proud stockists and owners of these blankets and have been waiting with great anticipation for this seasons releases. The new iterations have a strong connection to the ‘Old West’, with fantastic names that are just as evocative of a time and place as the images themselves – ‘Thunderbird Mesa’, 'Hassock Falls’, ‘Eagle’ and ‘Sheridan Lake’, to name but a few.

With this in mind it is with great pleasure that we celebrate the arrival of the new season's editions with a special event at our Windmill Street store on Wednesday 19th October from 7pm until 9pm (ish).

Mats – the owner of the brand – will be here to give a short talk regarding the process of construction and the inspiration behind the designs, and to share his knowledge and passion with all those who have an interest in quality clothing and textile craftsmanship. So come and join us for an evening of denim, blankets, stimulating conversation and of course, beer. We look forward to seeing you, both new friends and old!

Just let us know you are coming with a brief email with names to [email protected]

We will leave you with these words from Mats:

"A blanket from the craftsmen at Indigofera is, besides a beloved friend that will age and gain patina through years of use, a handcrafted design piece that will add personality and colour to any home, couch, motorcycle or indeed, horse!

Indigofera's wool blankets are made by a Norwegian woollen mill that has been weaving high quality wool products since 1940, building on a local tradition that goes back centuries.  Selected wool from Norwegian sheep and 100% Norwegian production has earned them a reputation as one of the most renowned woollen mills in Europe.

Norwegian sheep graze on clean, fresh mountain pastures, making their wool pure and more environmentally-friendly than most textile fibres. This, in combination with the flexibility and insulation properties that are naturally developed in sheep that dwell in the cold Norwegian climate, is a fundamental reason for the superior quality and functionality.

Light up a bonfire, bring your blanket on a road trip or simply sit down and enjoy an old record in your favourite chair... the blanket is big enough to cover both yourself and the experience."

  8. Now available online and in store is the Iron Heart Indigo Corduroy Western shirt. The rich indigo and corduroy texture are a unique but in our opinion totally winning combination. This is definitely going to be one of those wardrobe items that will look amazing with months and years of wear. The shirt features diamond shaped black and silver coloured snaps, chambray lined collar, cuffs and chest pocket flaps, felled seams and indigo needle yarn that will fade over time.

The classic indigo selvedge denim western by Iron Heart has been released with dark navy tonal stitching which gives the shirt a clean minimalist look. It uses the same 12 oz denim as the IHSH-33. This "stealth edition" (IHSH-33-T) features black logo'd  permex snap closures, felled seams, selvedge side gussets and chain stitch runoff.

  9. Rogue Territory joined us earlier this year and we were exited about the FW16 delivery to get the blanket lined waxed canvas Supply Jacket on our rails. This classic core RGT piece uses a 100% wool lining from the Faribault Woolen Mills in the USA. The outer shell is made from a 10 oz American waxed canvas in field tan. 10. Loving seeing the right-sided leg twist on these left-hand-twill denim.  Looks great, guys!  Makes me wish I was close enough to try them on - any thoughts about a Rivet & Hide USA store?  ha ha.

It's great having an ever increasing reach online to USA but I think Self-Edge has not only got it covered stateside but does a great job at it too. I'd fancy my chances with a second store closer to home. Nice of you to suggest it.

  11. Our long awaited collaboration with Real Japan Blues has landed. Using the much prized 14oz left hand twill Zimbabwe cotton famed for its character, texture and vertical fading properties, we have constructed a fit loosely based on The Flat Head 3002, one of our biggest sellers in store. Listening to feedback and customer requests, we slimmed down the taper through the lower leg. Once tamed, these are REALLY going to show some honeycombs.

The result is a sharp, super slim silhouette with a rise that some will find more comfortable than the lower rise usually found on slimmer cuts. With subtle toned down details such as indigo arcurates, black veg tanned deer leather patch and RJB crossed swords embroidered logo on the rear pocket the overall impression is exactly as we had hoped and planned for. We know you will enjoy wearing these as much as us and as much as we enjoyed creating them.

The jeans are available both raw and in one wash versions.

  12. No cold weather clothing drop would be complete without more legendary Iron Heart UHFs (Ultra Heavy Flannel) Two old favourites are back : red/black and purple/black.

Constructed using the super soft, super strong and super long staple Aspero cotton, these shirts are brushed once on the face and then twice on the inside. This process imbues the 12oz fabric with a superior level of warmth and insulation – not to mention comfort. Being single, double and triple stitched ensures that its strength matches its softness. Perfect to last you through the coming winter and beyond.

The Iron Heart N1 deck jackets are back.  You’ll have to move fast to snap up one of these as their well-deserved reputation ensures they do not hang around for long. It’s easy to see why; Iron Heart keep the style clean and functional with no unnecessary branding or graphics - along with the construction and materials this creates an unbeatable piece.

  14. Apologies for probably going over old ground, but how much stretch can I expect in a pair of XX-013 non-wash long-term?

I'm usually a 31/32 waist, so I went safe with a 32, although Denimio said they would send the pair which had the smallest waist measurement for a 32.

The thigh/rise/knee/hem are all perfect. However, the waist is 81cm flat, compared to their size chart average of 86.4cm. The waist fit is snug from the off, and after a soak will be tight.

Are these able to stretch past initial raw waist measurements pretty quickly?

This denim will stretch about 0.5" beyond the raw waist measurement and it happens within a few wears.

  19. Need some advice...

Anyone have experience with the 130x and now it differs from 100x and 220x?

My 220x are great jeans (best I've ever had), but the stretch has been pretty much negligable over their lifespan. Will 130x stretch more?

Anyone had issues with 130x being warmer than 220x? The 220x are pretty thick for 14.5 oz denim, and the the 130x are 2.5 oz more.

The 130x will stretch more than the 220x. Although a little heavier the weave is looser which always makes denim more breathable.
