  1. LVC is finished yes, They will roll over certain styles into the Made in Japan line.

On a side note, I have some of the LVC catalogue books, I would be willing to part with:

    FW16, SS17, FW18, FW19, SS19.

I am happy to do a deal for Sufu members.

  2. A private equity firm bought cone mills in 2016. They simply made an economic calculation that the floor space taken up by the white oak selvage looms was not profitable, so they closed them down and sold them off. Levis although one of their main buyers of white oak, was also in the process of going public. As LVC only makes up a fraction of their lines and profit, they chose not to buy the white oak looms. They had also been planning for this contingency for many years, developing alternative fabrics in Japanese mills.

There is a ton of info on this over in the LVC thread all by members who are more knowledgeable than me on the matter.

  3. The sneaker game is horrible and has been for years.

I don't want to enter raffles, line up, or pay stupid resell prices to get my hands on a pair. Gone are the days when you could just walk into a store have look, hand over your cash, and walk out with something on your feet. I have completely given up even trying.

With sites like stock x it seems that its become a rich kids' game of trading and investing in different pairs. It's really taken all the fun and style out of it.

  4. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, the jeans at least seem super wearable to me.

It's what all the youth are into these days, oversize and baggy. These will sell super well in the Japanese, Korean, and HK markets.

  5. I can only imagine that CSF is concerned about people knowing which items he used to base his patterns off? Perhaps also worried that he is opening himself up to litigation from Levis? Still seems like a complete dick move. Doing things like that is the reason that the vintage customer base is small. Why wouldn't he want to share the knowledge? Looking at the wait-time on his items it seems that he is already pretty much at capacity, so is he that worried about competition?

The whole thing reminds me of Supreme suing some other brand for ripping off their type font when they in turn had just lifted it from Barbara Kruger.

  6. This sounds great, been searching for what my next pair of jeans would be and this ticks so many boxes WW2 era cut and TCB fabric. Super excited!

  7. So LVC has become like every other limited edition hype-driven item and its bought by resellers to flip and make a profit.

Good luck to that ebayer, but I can't imagine anyone paying that much for them.

Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum, just felt compelled to join after seeing that RMC is now on END. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I recall Hitoshi Tsujimoto stating in an interview that he did not entertain any deals with END or Mr. Porter to maintain the brand’s exclusivity.

I think it comes down to RMC having specific conditions for retailers to stock the brand. There is a large minimum buy and you can't put the items on sale. So I'm assuming that this limits the number of stores that can pick up an account. So in a way, I feel like RMC have limited who they can work with so that going with a large mainly online retailer like END, who would introduce the brand to a different demographic would make business sense to them.

Aesthetically I can see how people think its a strange fit, I find the styling rigid and I imagine a lot of END customers glossing over the brand due to the prices.

you might be missing the point. it's like you can't call Volvo a swedish car manufacturer as they are produced/driven all over the world.

don't know why you try to find a reason to hate someone, but it just started there that's why people call it that way. nobody hates them here for that

Seems like it's you that is missing the point If you can't see how Trump and others are whipping up anti-Chinese and in general racist attitudes to people of Asian heritage for political gain. Its a virus it came from China, but it doesn't discriminate. Yes, they called it the Spanish flu in 1918, but that was a hundred years ago and there a lot of things people did back then, that we wouldn't do now. Here in Australia, because people are calling it the "Chinese Virus" the incidents of racist abuse to Chinese and other minorities are rising as people are blaming them for the virus. Can you see why some people find it problematic to label COVID 19 the "Chinese Virus"?

  10. @Muck DynastyMost things will shrink weird in the dryer. That's not unique to 3sixteen.

I like Lady White Co. tees a lot. The cotton is super soft, their necklines stay intact and they actually hold shape really well. They have put out some heavyweight and some new lightweight cotton styles as well. My only criticism is that I'm really in between the M and L size, like a lot of brands.

If I messing with a cheap brand then it's Gildan. I had a bunch of Alstyle blanks that are about 12 years old that are only falling apart now. However, they don't make the same style anymore so I can't comment on how the current ones feel or hold up.

  11. @SSchadenfreude Seems like the WHO advice was upgraded in the last few days. They have changed their stance from dogs and cats cannot get corona, to whilst it may be possible for them to get it, they cannot spread it to humans.

The already made a Romper Stomper tv series and it was terrible.
