I was in Leeds today, and popped into Kiosk 78 to see what the score was there...
Had a chinwag with Gav whilst I was there, and it looks like they're going to be offering a chainstitch hemming service soon, and dropping VAT for non-EU orders. I was well impressed, all that dreamy denim in one place
Didn't buy anything though, as my credit is crunched at the moment...
PS Can we get this thread renamed 'UK denim stores'?

^^ I handled those recently in London, I believe.
The denim feels like nothing else, but wasn't feeling the cut at all. It was like an exaggerated 0005 cut. I didn't even bother trying it on, as I can only just wear the normal 0005 denim.
I'd jump on them in a 2001 cut though, just for the denim...

I slowly left the shop.
I bet you did!
Just looked at that http://www.atticclothing.com/ - if anyone's a size 30 they got some Sugar Canes in the sale there at very reasonable prices...red tags, too...

^ Selfridges in London have Japanese No.2 Evisu, with the security tags strategically placed, if you get my drift...silly price though, as you're looking at £315 for a pair...

doesn't work out much different than paying shipping and taxes from Us or Japan if you're based in the UK
Too right. And it'll be easier for most UK-based people to either return stuff quickly or actually go to the shop and try the gear on.

'Yamato' is an old name for Japan...

You could try here Jyoni for starters:

although I wouldn't be too confident in my own repair skills and would rather leave it to professionals. I found an old pair of Heritage jeans in a thrift shop way back when, and have kept them specifically for any future repairs that I (or someone else) may need to do.
I'm going to have similar problems I think with my Lot 2000 (yeah, the ones I said I was going to wear next year...). I soaked them a week and a half ago to see what I could do with the waist as it was smaller than tagged size. I managed to stretch it out nicely and the fit is superb, but the crotch is tighter in relation to the waist and is fading/wearing at a very fast rate. Going to be some lovely fading in no time at all, but it's definitely going to be something I'll need to keep an eye on...

They could well be legitimate, as some of the models produced in Italy under license didn't use the 'usual' Evisu lot numbers, as far as I'm aware (I'm assuming that those are Italian-made, of course). I've got a pair of Italian Evisu from sometime in the 90s where the lot number is 10XZ, and whilst they're made of selvage denim they're not on the same level as Japanese or Heritage Evisu.
The ones I have show 'Evisu' on the buttons and top rivets, with 'Cobra-I-Original' on the rivet backs.
The gulls look closer to arctuates than the present-day designs too...I'll try and get some pics up when I get a chance...

Current:
Evisu Lot 2001 No.1
Evisu Lot 2000 No.1
Occasional:
S5000VX 21oz
Evisu No.2 Lot 0331
Evisu Heritage Mizuhiki Lot 0005
Unworn (and should get around to selling...):
Full Count 0105FS
Evisu Heritage Brown Box
Evisu Lot 2000 No.2
And previously a whole heap of Diesel that funded the above when I sold them...

If you sign up then pull out i'll neg rep you and that won't be the end of it...
That fucks us financially in the end if a bunch of people pull out because this project is being produced solely for the forum users..
In that case, can we have the sizing (even approximate) known as soon as possible?
I'm not here to fuck anybody around, and would hate to commit to buying something that I'm ultimately not feeling...

What was done to me last night:
0 -
Supporting my local footie team through thick and thin...
Tunes from back in the day that take you right back there...
Walking on a deserted beach in the dusk when summer rain starts to fall...
And finding pleasure in the smallest of things, like writing this post.

Need some representation from the 70s

Thread's kinda gone dry, so time for some pics...
No.1 Lot 2000 pre-soak:
I also picked up (unexpectedly) these No.2 Lot 2000 a few days ago, so can make a direct comparison 'tween the two:
The design's possibly not what I might have gone for myself, but can't really moan about this particular gift horse.
The No.1s are smaller than tagged size, and now that I got the two pairs in front of me, I'm inclined to hope that those who suggested that they might be one-wash are right. If not, I'm going to have a lot of 'fun' stretching them out when washed next year and they may just be too tight...

Does anyone have any experience of getting the waist of their jeans altered, e.g when they've lost weight? Is it easy to get done, and was it obvious or not?
Cheers, and apologies for reposting

Free bump, I have a pair of those and they're well worth the effort...

unless you're involved in an unfortunate recreational enema misfire
I hate it when that happens...being shot down by a shower of shit is never the way forward...

Shame the Dowluck aren't No.2, or I'd have been interested...

One more for not tapering those
That makes me wanna get a pair of CX's...
Yeah, me too. Would be ideal for work I reckon...

I assume you purchase the design and the jean you want it on. they handle the rest.
Only when ordering from the international store though, apparently...

Evisu is still loved!

^You should be fine if you stretch them whilst damp. I managed to stretch mine to slightly bigger than the pre-soak measurement, although it wasn't the most comfortable afternoon I've ever had...
