@conqueror pics, fit pics? we don’t see many 66’s here at all, they’re like a rare beast.

    excuse the poor lighting.

edit: and excuse the broken img tags.

  2. i've had my OW' 66s for a fortnight or so and love them so far.

i normally wear a 34 in most japanese denim, but amazingly took a 32 in these. i assume this is pretty rare, as i always thought SC fit smaller if anything. a 33 would be fine with a belt, but the 34 was super loose everywhere.

  3. i'm 6'1/186cm and the fit on my 50s jacket is almost perfect, so it's bummer they're changing the cut entirely. i like the reduced sleeve length, but every other (albeit perhaps minor) change is a thumbs down for me.

We used to stock both for 7 years, but we found the 1947 would outsell the 1966 10 to 1 so we stopped stocking the 1966 model.

i've thought about this more...why do you think this was the case? i understand i might be in the minority, but i love the SC '66 cut. particuarly a few years ago when tapered cuts were super popular, i would've guessed the '66 would easily out sell the '47.

  5. i've had my RW 8138s in 11D for a little over a year now and love them. unfortunately, the right boot is slightly too small in the toebox against my pinky toe after a few hours of wear.

would sizing up to an 11.5D resolve the issue? the EE widths are borderline impossible to source where i'm located (australia) and no one appears to ship them here either. i've also read EE is only wider at the heel of the shoe, and the toebox is essentially the same. is this accurate?

edit: i don't have much experience with boots in general, but i'm typically a US12 in most sneakers.

Yes. It is. I got the same size as my 50s -32 - the rise on the 50s is 11.5 I think. The rise on the 60s is around 10. They’re unwearable. Sizing up would def be necessary but then the thighs and leg are larger so why even bother? Just get the 50s. They’re perfect.

interesting. he said the 50s fit smaller than the 60s too which was a surprise. maybe neither cut is for me (although i love my 50s jacket).

  7. received a reply back which has has made me more confused about sizing. hoping @volvo240thebest and others can potentially help.

i currently wear a size 3 in orslow 107s which are great, but i want something with a slightly wider thigh. i thought a size 34 in the one wash 60s would be okay, but ryo suggested a 36. somewhat apprehensive about that as i've never been a 36 in anything: samurai, eternal, momotaro, whatever.

    orslow 107s size 3 approx
waist: 85cm (this is after stretch, too)
    thigh: 28.5cm
    rise: 29cm

    tcb 60s size 34 approx
    waist: 84cm
    thigh: 32.5cm
    rise: 26.5cm

    tcb 60s size 36 approx
    waist: 89cm
    thigh: 34cm
    rise: 27cm

is the rise that much of a killer? am i missing something...? i'm 186cm/82kg if it makes a difference. i could look at the 50s instead, but i think the leg opening will be too big for my tastes.

  8. anyone heard from ryo recently? usually super responsive, but i emailed about a week ago now and no reply. yes, i know the contest is on.

  9. am i correct in thinking that the 60s are slightly tapered, whereas the 50s aren't?

edit: damn, TCB are sold out of 60s in my size.

When I was an exchange student in Osaka in 2009, I met some Australian expats who were into Nudie. That introduced me to the concept of raw denim, and through Nudie I discovered the broader denim community and stuff.

Back then this blew my mind, I didn't think there was anything better than Levis 510s out there. I knew about "premium" denim brands like Seven For All Mankind and True Religion but thought they were ugly crap. I would've been into raw denim at least five years earlier if I just knew about it, but nobody in the north Atlanta suburbs was into this kind of thing.

nudie was absolutely huge in the australian hardcore scene (probably some other subcultures, too) for a few years, particularly the thin finn and slim jim models. i bought my first pair in 2006ish and was still wearing them non-stop when i joined sufu in 2008. prior to that i owned a pair of diesel zathans which was the bridge nine jean of choice.

  11. i'm still tossing up whether i should frame this shunga or just hang it with bulldog clips:

i have a stupid amount of totes, so i knot this other kapital one to the handle of whichever bag i'm currently using (hence the insane creasing + distorted shape):

the only other bandana i own is a brown paisley by beams which i use on a patagonia blackout while traveling. no pic because it's currently at my parents' house.
