^thats basically what happened to me. Out of college i wasnt exactly "dying to jump into a professional commitment", however i was too eager to find a job and start making money like the rest of my friends. After 5 years of doing this type of work at a couple companies, i now have my own house and a gf asking "when are we gonna get married", but all i do now is miss my younger days, think about how this type of work is unfulfilling, stress about the idea of a career change/starting over, and wishing i took more time when i was younger to think about what is important to me and what i really wanted to do for a career.

This is basically me too. I'm considering just taking a break for a few months to get some travel done and come back to try to get back into it. For me, it's not so much the career as it is my particular company that's bothering me... Still lots you can do in a particular career path, so hopefully I can find something that I'll at least enjoy more.
