yeah coleslaw it's like just looking at them or thinking about them makes em fade. i've only put in like 60 wears and to be honest i rounded up. i wore em 2 weeks straight and the fading result was very noticeable. i'm just gonna boil these, with no agitation to give you shmucks the contrast you all crave...salaam ain't no one trick pony!

hip fades the weird part at the yoke is where i not-so-carefully cut the belt loop off and i attempted to patch the hole with some warp threads i grafted from a pair of selvage nudies( my first pair of raw selvage) now its faded to a light blue...

somehow the pic of the preliminary combs wont load...oh well

i love the patch. it has that authentic quirky quality you can only get when the japanese spell an english word wrong. sue me

i must add that i notice a certain crinkly aspect to the texture of this denim...good job dude

Totally random occurrence yesterday:

So i sold my contest 660's to one of my friends i work with at the cab company. His other job is at a local record store. They frequently have visitors from Japan come through and spend lots of loot on rare records.

Dude came in to buy some stuff from him yesterday and immediately recognized the contest jeans!!

He said that he has a pair and they're #97, dug around the original 660 thread and found that this is a user named simcoo (?). I tried to email him, but have not heard back yet. Seems his last login on the forums was about a month ago.

Just thought that it was awesome!!

as to the convo it seems some denim is just more prone to crinkles than others. warehouse and denime are famous for it, and i've seen a fair amount of fullcounts that show it as well. i've seen old women at my old job with cheap, sanforized lee jeans that are crinkly as hell, so my original hypothesis that the crinkles come from the shrinking and expanding of unsanf. denim is most likely wrong. it's a great denim mystery. i would ask gordon, but he doesn't reply to my e-mails or requests for thread anymore. this surely won't stop me from asking him when i go to NY the next time to get my jeans re-hemmed, and shamelessly beg for thread:D

leather keystrap i made out of a scrap left over from making the wallet: was natural, but i treated it with dr. bronner's lip balm (i was curious as to what it would do, i used orange ginger good stuff) i've been rocking it on the daily for a few months.

this is the tomthumb purse i made this weekend. tandy leather kit, samurai denim. i blessed this baby with plenty of shea, the leather salve of champions. i've stopped smoking weed/cigarettes for good now( 15 years of smoking trees 3-4 times a day is enough for anybody) so now i've replaced the harmful, stinky smoke with wonderful smelling oils. costs less, and smells better. so i keep 2 bottles in here...im sure the sam denim will fade over time,and it has nice slub and a nice rouge warp knot. i made one a while back but it was stitched with leather lace so it dry-rotted and the thing fell apart. so i used black gimp/boondoggle lace for this one. the leather they use for the zipper part of this kit ages so wonderfully. just wait. i would've used the one from the other pouch but i wanted the raw denim and raw leather to age together. ya dig? the round thingy at the top is a compass to determine the qibla(direction of makka, saudi arabia) from anywhere in the world. i refuse to miss any of my 5 daily prayers anymore. no joke.

everything leather has been treated by a generous, 4 step shea butter rubdown. after i twisted and bent the lanyard every which way it's rather soft after i took an hour to keep rubbing shea into it. it kept sucking it up. i fattened the grain and flesh sides

wallet is fading slowly since it sits in my back pocket, an it can never be washed due to the leather...

i'll holla back in a few months when some of this stuff starts changing...
