  1. looks like i may be moving to santa clara in august. anyone have any thoughts on the area? from what i can see the scenery is great. don't know much else other than it's a 45 minute caltrain ride away from san francisco. it's pretty suburban right? sorry for the vague post.

    there's great food!...

but once you're done eating there's not much else to do.

  2. Name your best/funny ones. I need this shit for a project.

    Who's better/wins/beat the other persons ass/rape/etc?

i'll throw some out as examples...

    beatles vs. rolling stones

what is more satisfying, taking a godly shit or a bladder exploding piss?

    fork vs spoon vs... SPORK

    right hand or left hand?

    make 'em all normative questions.

  3. okay guys how about a post-semester/quarter dinner?

julian, do you go to de anza? i swear i see a kid that's the striking image of you, or what i remember you to look like.

yes i go to de anza. were you there?

i generally where my leather jacket and a chrome bag. look for the tall asian guy with longish hair and thats me.

  4. Still like $1200? They are GORGEOUS! I tried to get those red Augusta lace-ups, but they sold out of my size that night.

    a.s.

all in all, it was less than 4 figures. which was a fucking steal compared to what the archive was charging for it.

i checked out some of those augusta boots, but it was a zip up. the guidi front zip was beautiful but not on sale..

  5. i have to vouch for roasting plant. the barista messed up on a drink so he gave me a free cup of ethiopia.. it really was a mix of espresso and coffee with a thick layer of crema.

I also tried this one joint's espresso on houston.... but i totally forgot the name. it was decent but nothing to call home about.

  6. some days, it's a corona with tabasco, dunkin' donuts coffee with cream and two sugars kind of day.

otherwise, what's your go-to drink? if i get a proper wet cappuccino in a 10 oz cup, I'm golden -- run that cuban style with the raw sugar and easy on the milk temp.

go to drink at a established coffee shop is a macchiato or black coffee. If i want to sit down and hang out, a cappuccino, but that doesn't last too long either.

  7. Wow that sounds intense. Out of curiosity how did you make your macchiatos/ anyone know how Starbucks makes them? I've never gotten them there but new customers always had different expectations.

I would basically pull a double shot into an 8oz cup, little bit of milk if request, then fill the cup with foam.

i'll admit i'm a starbucks barista. (i love coffee, but never drink anything except water and black coffee there...). macchiatos at sbux is the shots and a dallop of foam on top. the right way should be perfectly steamed milk poured into an espresso cup, but whatever it's corporate coffee and all about speed.

  8. i'm a barista at the lowest form of artistry... corporate...

but i did learn how to free pour rosettes and hearts from another legitimate barista so customers/coworkers are quite amazed at my "skill" (which is nothing compared to any legit coffee place)

  9. Serious question: what place serves the best burger in San Jose?

Slider's bison burger is my current jawn. if anyone knows of a better burger, please share

i would say sliders has the best burger around. me and my friends were just wandering around in the car, stumbled upon the joint, and instantly fell in love. The fries are fucking amazing, the patty grilled to perfection, and the buns nice and toasty but oh so soft on the inside...

You can also pick and choose what toppings you want on the side bar, and it's super fresh and gooooooood produce. highly recommended... i need to go back sometime soon.

but St. Johns in Sunnyvale is decent also. there's half off burger night on wednesdays(?i think) and my personal favorite, half off appetizers on thursday or friday i believe. their bacon cheese fries are absolutely amazing. it's like potato skins/baked potato in fry form... yummmmmmmm.
