  1. madeline, you're not the first female i know who wish they were not quite so well-endowed, if only to have more clothing options. still, the blokes wouldn't understand that. :) you've got nice tits so love yourself! *stops herself before she starts sounding like them girlz from the other fashun forumz*

i never disliked my flat chest until i was dumped for someone with ostensibly nothing more than me, than bigger boobs. of course, it could be my personality...

thanks for loving my stool superfuture. i'm saving up to buy an eames rocking chair now.

  2. took my good friend out to a well-deserved dinner, for helping me with some design work:

    wayet0626bvg9.jpg

salmon avocado salad (the salmon was perfectly done. lightly seared on outside and still soft and raw on the inside. mmmm)

    wayet0626asp8.jpg

    rainbow rolls

    wayet0626eup6.jpg

pan fried noodles with pork, buried in fish floss

    wayet0626clm5.jpg

    teriyaki steak

    wayet0626dla0.jpg

what we were there for. those oysters again!

    wayet0626frw0.jpg

    tofu cheesecake

incidentally, the birdcage theme was relevant to the work he was doing for me too:

  3. soepom <3 tg for faithful food documentation!

and more from my magic food mum!

    wayet0618wi1.jpg

proof that she trolls the wayet thread, this meal was served not long after jpgm had teppanyaki at his gf's house. see, we even have the same serving dish!

    i love cold food:

    wayet0619acf4.jpg

    wayet0619bpj6.jpg

her improved cold dish - tomato stuffed with cheese. great for the perpetual singaporean heat

    light lunch:

    wayet0621ahz3.jpg

    wayet0621baf5.jpg

    tajine x teapot:

    wayet0623cw4.jpg

mum was elated when she found this teapot to match her tajine.

  4. why so sad soe? u look like that singer that sang the Dawsons Creek intro song....

??? i'm smiling in the picture... and i don't know this singer you're referring to.

    soepom

you're wearing a pantyhose around your neck

    just so you know

actually only just half of a pantyhose.

    just so you know.

p/s tg i think if my feet look nice it's only because of my arches, my toenails are awful though... in any case don't mind getting creeped on by you anyday! xxx

  5. waywt0627jq7.jpg

the noose around my neck was made from dead pantyhose with runs. i go through so many pairs it's such a shame to throw them away, especially when they aren't cheap.

    img7950ww7.jpg

(edit: omg i can't stop looking at madeline's... mine look concave in comparison)

i probably should stop wearing pantyhose altogether... my legs are PASTY.

    img7940px6.jpg

i love the shadows it casts...

  6. my mouth is salivating, everything looks great, i love ur bowls you eat with style.

thanks - but all credit goes to my mother, who has collections of various cutlery and dining ware. there's something for every occasion and type of cuisine. :)

  7. imageshack has been screwing up on me, and makes uploading multiple images a chore... so pardon the long breaks.

over the past week and not really in order either...

    local fare for dinner:

    wayet0617bnz3.jpg

prawn noodles and the iconic chicken rice

my lunches at home will take a dramatic drop in standard the moment my mum is done with her month long holiday. but till then:

    wayet0617ain9.jpg

    wayet0613bsa6.jpg

    wayet0614ir2.jpg

    wayet0613amj4.jpg

reprise of mum's invention - lychee stuffed with otak (spicy fish paste) - especially novel and appealing to the local palate.

    dinner at work:

    wayet0616bat5.jpg

shabu shabu salad (love the tangy jap dressing), oyster wrapped in bacon yakitori, teriyaki beef with mushrooms (this is my new favourite from the menu, don't know why I never had it before)

    wayet0616amf3.jpg

fried calamari with special thai chilli sauce

i made late night snack for tweeds and myself:

    wayet0617col5.jpg

which essentially involves just adding hot water to this (muji noodle, kelp, lotus)... i know. hey it takes talent to make something with just hot water...

I have somemore photos from this week's meals... but i'll accumulate more before i upload again i guess...

  8. u look better, when dressed like a woman.

you're probably right. at least, it worked for you hun xxx

suckdick could post that exact same pic, cover his face and we'd probably never know the difference.

well that's because the only difference between us is that suckdick has a dick, and i have two.

damnit Egpt beat me to it

looks like she has two huge boners

i'm dressed as any self-respecting woman with two dicks would.

  9. waywt0617bas4.jpg

dear timber, in all sincerity - if you really can't decide, draw a lot/flip a coin, and stick with it. i've learnt that most of the time, when rationality fails you - any decision is arbitrary. it's how i decide on most of my purchases.

in fact i do it so often, i'm thinking of making my own shopping dice - with "save it for your next meal", "buy it", "buy it in both colours", "buy and flip", "throw dice again" and "wait for sale" options

  10. wayet0611aoy5.jpg

    superpiknikte1.jpg

have a picnic, during your lunch-hour. refuse the temptation to have the drag and drone of work continue into your lunchtime. just go on and try it with friends/colleagues - and let us know if you liked it.

and oh yah - pics, or it didn't happen.

  11. more of mum's lunches on various days:

    wayet0605anq2.jpg

    wayet0605bgg7.jpg

been drinking this korean pomelo-citron tea. my latest comfort drink.

    wayet0607sc1.jpg

    wayet0609om2.jpg

    wayet0611bjp3.jpg

supper at a traditional hinghwa (my dialect group) coffeeshop:

    wayet0606axz6.jpg

    wayet0606bjz5.jpg

the leftmost dish is fried sacs of fish roe - the texture is amazing. salty, crispy, and bubbly-bursty. too high in cholesterol but hey man, there are too many ways to go. i've chosen mine.

  12. photos making me envious as per usual jo!

who was the lucky one that got to eat the fish cheeks...?

those dumplings look amazing. i think i might have to go and grab some tomorrow, theres a store i go to in northbridge that does killer lo mai gai, and zongzi with lap cheong....$2.50 each! perfect comfort food, and dirt cheap.

i know it's a desecration of good fish - but neither my mum nor i are particularly fond of fish cheeks. we both like the tail bits...

what i meant to ask you the last time you were here is - you seem to really know your asian food. is it because of family or is it because it's popular in perth? i mean, even some singaporean chinese wouldnt know to say "zongzi with lap cheong" :)

and yes azn8oi. it is next level knifework indeed. apparently in chinese cooking, it is the one surest way of knowing the chef's standard. how fine the ginger is shredded is already an indicator of how good your food will be.

  13. lunch at home yesterday:

    wayet0601rd1.jpg

fish was fresshhhh (check out my mum's kick-ass fish deboning skill! not a single tiny bone except the spine - perhaps it might hard for people who grew up eating only fish fillets to appreciate this, but man... i love steamed fish, but the bones and occasional scale can be such a bitch)

    lunch today:

premium rice dumpling + lotus soup

    wayet0602agk7.jpg

    wayet0602bta5.jpg

    wayet0602cdn2.jpg

my grandma makes the dumplings for us every year to celebrate the duan wu festival. the old lady sure can cook, and she sure knows how to keep you wanting more. we only get one precious dumpling each! glutinous rice with salted egg yolk, dried scallop, roast pork, roast duck, gingko nuts, lotus seeds, chestnut, mushroom, dried shrimp... wrapped in bamboo leaves.

there's one left for tweedles - but i'm really tempted to devour it before he drops by...

    dinner at work:

    wayet0602djm7.jpg

duck leg confit (they changed the sauce to something called "fruit infused jus", and i like it better now)

    wayet0602ewo7.jpg

    grilled portabello salad

  14. lunch at home:

    wayet0529lt0.jpg

    picture-perfect fried rice

after the success of the first picnic, we decided to invite more friends, and take it right to the astro turf next to their office on a work day. i think i'm going to start a picnic-during-lunch hour movement. (wine at lunch has got to be good for you)

    wayet0528auk2.jpg

soepomsandwichesâ„¢, yakult, seedless grapes, korean strawberries, brie, pepper chedder, carrs, wheat biscuits, wine (not pictured)

whizkit we will hit your joint soon!

    later that day...

    wayet0528blk3.jpg

sea asparagus chowder - i've heard of sea cucumber, but sea asparagus was new. it also tastes just like... nothing. soup was pretty tasty, but overwhelmed any subtlety in taste the shellfish might have had to begin with. or maybe thats the point...

mum made light lunch the next day:

    wayet0530iv6.jpg

juicy thin yakiniku-esque slices of beef with veg and tofu, and pumpkin soup

    breakfast today:

    wayet0531aeq0.jpg

simple luxuries. so often we don't want what's good, we just want... what we want...

    wayet0531bxy6.jpg

    the way we want it...

    wayet0531cng1.jpg

    soft boiled eggs ftw!

    wayet0531dzy3.jpg

    love this!

mum and i were hungry so i made us supper (for a change):

    wayet0531enn5.jpg

soepom only knows how to make pasta, sandwiches, and random concoctions she didn't knew she could make till she made them... spaghetti with sundried tomatoes, beef pastrama, ham, long beans, shitake, stir-through sauce (ok i cheated! but my mum said it was good)

  15. When does a hamburger get called a cheeseburger? A Big Mac has cheese on it, but it's not called a cheeseburger. Help me.

I'm no authority on this (well, actually I have an aunt that used to be one of the directors for the local macs... but nevermind) but I've always assumed that a cheeseburger is a hamburger + cheese, a double cheese burger is two hamburger patties + cheese, and a big mac is "two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun"

Mum whipped up a storm when my Granny came over for dinner with the aunts:

    wayet0525anu4.jpg

    wayet0525dpg6.jpg

    home-made mango pudding/jelly

And the aunts in turn brought desserts and snacks from their recent travels to tokyo and macau:

    wayet0525bzo8.jpg

    wayet0525crj6.jpg

    wayet0525eyz5.jpg

    wayet0525fqq8.jpg

After the feasting, I told my mum I needed only salad for lunch the next day:

    wayet0526gl0.jpg

But we soon resume the usual the day after:

    wayet0527aer9.jpg

Took my mum out to dinner tonight at my favourite middle eastern restaurant:

    wayet0527bru2.jpg

i had the grilled chicken steak with mash

wayet0527cvw1.jpgmum had the laham meshawi (grilled lamb with special garlic sauce) - i'm gonna order this the next time!

  16. btw THANKS FOR THE NOTICE. I need to eat food-- only reason i'm coming to singapore to be honest with you. wtf. I thank you, soepom, and tweeds for this.

we shall take full responsibility for all food-lust we have inspired in you. come hungry. or else.
