  1. sisp is fashiony in a different way than acr.  there is certainly more of an emphasis on textile and dyeing innovations (which is suitable) - I'd also say the collections are designed to be more "complete" collections in that there is a signature look on top of more basics... all in the context of something you could show on a runway.

acr is more self-consciously futuristic and almost obsessively focused on ergonomics (for lack of a better word).

i think i mentioned this here before, but if you want quailty basics in the erlsn style without all of the extraneous bits, herno laminar is your brand - it's still getting marked down and would not be surprised if the line was discontinued soon

  2. Do I remember correctly that ironing is supposed to, for a lack of a better word, reactivate the waterproofing on Levis Commuter cargos?

If not, does anyone have any suggestions because the knees are starting to get a bit soggy

    tumble dry after washing

  3. a little late but yes acg 3 in 1 jacket is std goretex and a good value jacket considering whatever insulated veilance field jacket you could compare it to.  though i don't understand why dudes think paclite is a lesser fabrication or not suited to year around use - it's a fucking shell.

was onboard with the acg tech fleece but not having flat locked seams killed it for me since the seam ends up directly on my knee.

backpack is intriguing so will have to see how that works out.

stoked on the news that sdr traveller will be doing other stuff bc i can't afford their duffel right now :(

  4. Most of the chat is in the Urban Techwear thread, as it's Nike stuff rather than Acronym.

fair enough, tbh i think it's fair game for this thread but i'm sure it just evolved organically.  i stopped following that threak when it became the TAD / isaora endless loop so not sure much has changed?

    btw nice ken ishii avi

  5. so I got my ACG stuff in, what's up with the leg seam twisting around to the front?  sort of the opposite of what I'd want.

Still trying to grok whether the backpack would be useful, it's fine but seems a little bit pricey vs actualized utility.  part of it is getting used to the idea of all the zippers being diagonal.

curious if anyone else has thoughts about their kit as I haven't seen anyone comment?

  6. i can't imagine anything other than the chukkas and athleisure pants will sell out quickly.  over under on 3-in-1 jacket... $900?

regarding the branding, why can't we forgive erlsn his indulgences?  as he has to stay on brand otherwise.

looking forward to the launch and also how the collaboration will carry forward.

  7. FS: brown cord Lamina 8L, USD325 shipped domestically, (+10 Canada, +20 rest of world).  Loads more pics on request, no real signs of wear.  No box but you can probably survive that.

    that deckhand looks nuts!!!

  8. haha what color were you trying to cop on the tnf?

interesting choice on the chore coat, never see anyone mention it in this manner.

what about the camo stone island do you like over the black and yellow? i like the camo best as well but i can't help but feel the other colorways would have more longevity for a lack of a better word.

    black tnf.

the camo is the perfect combo of supreme's sensibility and stone island's pioneering approach to garment dyeing:

"In this version, the cotton satin undergoes a 5 colour pigment printing prior to its bonding to the polyurethane coating.  The finished garment is then over dyed to blend the colour of all the textile elements of the piece.  The addition of a special agent to the dye formula makes the piece anti-drop [water repellant]."

  9. Ready, set, go.

ha i'm on here so little i didn't even see this until now (because i wanted to complain how much harder it is to scoop the tnf jackets these days)

    in no particular order:

    leopard m-51

    tnf NYPL at night summit

    stone island camo

    alpha ma-1

    chore coat from fw08

  10. Depends on how you measure i guess. i just measured the straight line from the end of my left chest to the end of my right. the full circle would 93cm

way late on this but I have that exact piece in sz 1.  if that 93cm is at your widest (about an inch above nipples) it's not going to work for you.  that said you'd probably need a sz 3 so perhaps you should double check?

  11. haha, quilted liner and hand pockets + flannel.... hmmm maybe describes a SExIH collaboration I'm happy to own?

warehouse sale was nuts, really happy with what I was able to score but sorta bummed they didn't sell through at full retail because they deserved to.

also, nuts that SExFHxRJB made it in there, those are probably the best jeans I've bought since the SExSC06.

Iron Heart Winter Shirts, Jeans, Bracelets, & Wallets

Just in time for the colder months we've received three new Iron Heart shirts and a restock of all their jean models including the 634s, Devil's Fit slim cut, and more.

Two of the new shirts have a quilted lining, hand warmer pockets on the outside of the shirt, and a inner chest pocket.  These are warm and comfortable, making us wonder why more of our shirts don't have hand pockets.   We've also received Iron Heart's new black/black wabash shirt made of a black denim that's been discharge dyed to create the wabash pattern.

  12. Thanks for your concern readytoignite, but it's entirely possible that roy put "hand wash" just to be safe.  While it's very light, it's still cotton, and if he puts hand wash then he can't be held responsible for any problems.

Tyler mentioned that the main problem are the buttons.  I can easily see this being a problem if I chucked it in alone with no barrier and put my washer setting on "Fucking Demolish Roy Shirt."  I'd imagine that if I put it in with other clothes, in a thick laundry bag, and on delicate, it'd probably be fine.  I also have 2 spare glass buttons.

ih123, I can hand wash it, but I just prefer that my clothes be machine washed so they feel cleaner.

from what I know about Roy (through his work), I am not sure he's ever done anything "just to be safe."  I am fairly certain he does things because they're right.

btw, thanks for reminding me about this shirt - dug it out for a soft opening dinner at Enrique Olvera's new joint.  what a fucking great shirt.

  13. Thanks tyler!  I think I'll probably put it in one of those laundry bags, then in the gentle cycle, and take out the spare buttons from the cyanide pocket for safe keeping.

So basically, you're ignoring the advice from the shirt's creator and that you solicited from the store that sold you the shirt.  despite being fully aware that you might break the particular cats eye buttons that cannot be realistically replaced.

with all sincerity (0), good luck with that approach
