  1. The denim feels and looks the same as used on the 1st blue jean, the 1873 model, i own one from the fall 1999 season, sadly one size too big.I wear this jacket as much as i can,but as everybody knows, jackets are somewhat different to pants,so there isnt really much to see now.And its still feels a bit

large,i did the initial soak in hottest tabwater, but nothing happened.than i soaked it in nearly boiling water for about an hour-same result.i know the agitation of a wash could shrink it,but i dont want to mess up the pleats.

Oh well,so much care for a real work jacket..

  2. tangerines and youngpunches are from a later season ( 2 years ago?) as far as i know they came in a hardwash version only, and the horizontal seam on the backside isnt there.and yes, mine is blanket lined.thanks for bringing the old pics backs.would love to see a fitpic of cottonducks!

  3. Once people see the finished product being released they freak out and we sell out within a day

So do I,if all the lurkers around here grab a pair and my size is sold out. After following this thread from the beginning,i will be very disappointed not getting a pair.

Maybe i worry too much,i just try to believe what kiya said.;)

  4. Does anybody owns the first frontpleated blouse by lvc apart from cottonduck and ringring ( as featured in the denimgallery ).got mine in februar 07 and wearing it since then, not much visible as with most jackets but would like to compare the fit with others.as soon as time allows i will post pics of mine.

  5. how do i get off some mud from my flatheads, without having to soak the whole thing?? the mud spatter is near the bottom of the jean..

    please answer, thanks :)

mud is not such a big thing on denim.i just let it dry and brush it of then.if you go the whole journey for major contrast you will always spoil your pants with some sort of dirt.if its no grease, oil or babyvomit (in my case) just ignore it,most will disappear or blend in while you wear it.if its that bad you can always carefully spotclean it.

  6. when you buy clothes just to match your selvedge thread color :D

What? thats some attention to detail i never even thought as being some sort of mod/skinhead 15 years earlier,i was aware then of choosing matching shirts, scarfs, socks, belts and those things.but in those years we didnt care much about jeans,to be a smart one you just have to wear a classic levis, wrangler or lee.no one ever cared about selvage, well it wasnt available then..:P

  7. Wait, so it'll be a 32 waist when it comes in? I bought a size 30 for the sake of having a pair...

I wonder if these'll fit my dad....

I bought a 32 from 2007 ,it measured 32 raw and after a soak in hottest tab water for a while it shrank a little bit,but strechted out easily to a 33,which fitted me comfortably.but after getting the 55 in 31 from pomata which is from 98 and compared them,,i decided to pass the 2007 to a friend, just to see what he will do to it in a year.well, the joy of owning too much denim..

From what i can say the 2007 strechtes out easily, dont know what happened if you give it a real wash, with all the agitating..

The differences between both are that the 98 has more pronounced thighs, the front- and the coinpockets are much smaller, dont know if that is probably leading back to the sizingdistinction.if there is a difference in the denim,i dont know as i didnt soak the 98 now (and not planning to do in the near future).hope i dont confusing you too much...

  8. I dont want to sound like some rich who doesnt care, japanese denim is always exclusive here in germany,as we also have to pay some customfee.i just dont mind € 50,- more or not for a pair that is so unique.even though i got no chance to win this contest i am gonna get it anyway.i know iam addicted and i just cannot resist.bad habbit..

  9. I'm looking to buy some Sugar Cane jeans. Either the rainbow denim, Slack denim or the Hawaii denim. I normally wear a waist size 36 (in all Nudies and in my recent pair of Samurai S001JP). I've read that the Sugar Cane denim can run small. I'm 6"3' / 200 lbs Should I go with the 36 or the 38?

Depents if you buy raw or onewash.Dont know what sugarcane is doing to the ow,regarding the sizecharts of BIG and Selfedge, the ow are running an entirely size smaller than tagged.i can only speak for my okinawa w32 raw, which measured after two hot soaks w33 and 35inseam.i reckon if i would give them a proper wash they would shrink to ow measurements.

but as Selfedge states, the ow stretches out about an inch in waist after some wear.you can always stretch the inseam while wet.

    hope that helps.

  10. ^ I still haven't seen a decent fit pic of the 201, 1937, or 1901. and I just happen to be trying to decide on what lvc I might be interested in...anyone wanna help?

just for you erk,did some pics of my 1901,stil not able to upload, but get some help today,be ready to watch them soon..

i wouldnt rate this as a problem that much,as i guess you work in a denim/fashion retail business and you are able to wear your denims 24hours a day,i got 10+ pairs i cannot wear because of my job and i am not able to handle myself buying more exclusive stuff like the fullcount,i feel so bad.

  12. I had a similar experience when I first got my 405s. I wasn't able to try them on cause I live in north carolina where there is only one really crappy alden dealer near me. So I had my foot measured there...big mistake. The guy measured me with a brannock device and told me I needed an 10.5C. So I ordered that size cause all i've heard told me that they run true to brannock size. So I got my shoes a few months later and they definately didn't fit. Because of this guy it took me forever to figure out what shoe size I was. Until I decided to get my foot measured at a orthopedic shoe store a few hours from where I live. She told me 11.5B. So I ordered, the shoes came, and fit perfectly. The guy at the alden dealer measured my foot from heel to toe and not heel to ball, which is apparently the only measurement that matters (besides width).

same here, but with rw 1908.cultizm offered them €100,- cheaper than in shops in hamburg, went in one ,they measured my feet and talked me into a size 9,in which they had only the 1911 which run a bit larger than the 1908,they fit snug but the salesman said they fit perfect and will stretch, ordered a 9 from cultizm, they fit even smaller.naive as i was then i walked 6 months in boots that didnt fit, what they do now but still snug and iam not able to put any insoles in.ordered later a pair of 1911 in 9.5 which fit perfect.

    well,just my experience..

  13. Good to hear you guys got your denim...enjoy!!!

Cheers again and a big thank you to paul for talking me into 31,fit is spot on,even if i wouldnt call it a slim fit, the fit is so much different from last season 55s-

has probably to do with the production year, the 31 is from 98.

Oh yes, mine arrived saturday in hamburg!

  14. ha ha! I was thinking all the baby soil would produce some good fades :)

Btw. I already bought "it" (we dont know if it's gonna be a boy or girl yet) a pair of those prewashed selvage cheap monday baby jeans :D

    thanks guys!

actually not.but you will get great kneefades in the next two years, cause you will spend a lot of time on the floor.

what gives good fades though is having fun with your kids on the playground!:D
