  1. congrats to you too, david!!

congrats aswell.your second thought should be "how can i avoid that my pants are suffering from all the soil that babys cause".

Answer: you cant. i choosed an old pair as "babyjeans".

Nothing hurts more than some spilled milk ( or even worse, vomit! ) on your brand new okinawas.

  2. now thats a fast replay, beatle.you really now your stuff!:) This one looks very interesting, the price is fantastic.will be the first hickory item i own.wonder how the indigo will react to the weldingrays.the black workwear iam equipped with always turns

brown in certain places.i am tempted!

After having a look at my daughters oshkosh overall i realized that hickory isnt really suitable for my kind of work.after searching some more i found this:http://www.vintagedenim.de/ .they sell the same model as beatle posted but in dark unwashed indigo.hope restocking for my size will not take too long.

  3. Only other cheap option that I know of is Dickies...

also - this one says Hickory...may be interesting

  4. As i am doing steelconstructions with all the welding, grinding and dirt,i am not able to wear my jeans at work,as they would suffer badly. But wearing a denim bib-overall and watching how it evolves over time could be an interesting project.I am looking for a vintagelooking one that doesnt cost a fortune, and after doing some research i found this:http://mmteam.de/catalog/product_info.php/info/p498_CARHARTT-Washed-Denim-Bib-Overall---darkstone.htm.

Does anybody knows a better model, pref. non wash?

  5. hey you're talking bout me..posted those here and on mynudies as well. Only size 36 is still available by the way...

    And Great fit David!

Hi pomata, the 55s arrived this morning, thats what i call fast service!

And yes David, excellent as usual.looks like youre one of the few lucky people that can just wear any cut.

  6. man, those look soo good on you! after you've worn them for a few months, you're gonna have the harajuku coolkid down so well! please wear them ;=)

you know, I have the 555 201s in sz 28, but I also wear them high.

looking great David,i prolly should start and break my in,i know that most jeans look better

after you wore them for about 2 weeks( compared to raw/new) but my 201 looks more like bellbottoms,i just cannot push myself to take them to the streets, theres a huge difference fitwise compared to my 47-55 lvcs, they look totally defferent to yours.

looks like you can wear any cut, from what i witnessed here!

  7. ^ I still haven't seen a decent fit pic of the 201, 1937, or 1901. and I just happen to be trying to decide on what lvc I might be interested in...anyone wanna help?

Your post remembers me of my 1901 sleeping in my closet, this is not a promise but i planned to post some fitpics for some months after somebody asked for (was it erbs ?).

Your not gonna see me in my 201 though as i will look like a member of BAY CITY ROLLERS!

( but if i find some matching platformboots on a fleemarket i might change my mind!)

  8. On the 20s 201, buying true to size is recommended:

As far as sizing down... these will always be full-shaped jeans. If you want something less bulky, go for the 1901 jeans. You're definitely right about the 1873 first blue jean in natural indigo (which is a different denim to the 201); my experience was these were well oversized after soaking, altho it's hard to be definite on whether that's due to the denim not shrinking, or their being oversized in the first place.

Your right Paul,i was aware ofthe cut when ordering the 201,so i got a 32 which was a bit tight in waist, and as Dejan didnt had any postsoak measurements,i exchanged for a 33 which i soaked a hottest tap, nothing happend at all, soaked at 90° for an hour and a dryer on hottest setting, lenght shrank 1",waist stretched after some wear to 34".

I went nuts and ordered a 32 again which measured 33"!That was it for me,exchanged it for 55 w32 which fitted spot on after soak an some wear.

I just dont understand why levis is putting a sticker o every lvc garnment saying size down 2 in waist and 3 in lenght when the denim differs from year, factory( and now country!) Big up for Dejan,he is very helpful, sorted every problem and only sells what levis delivers.

  9. these are so wide, you're best off buying actual waist size. But if you're sized up one, sag em - it's so unfashionable it's fashionable. Once you wash, they will definitely shrink.

thats what i thought, first i soaked them in hottest tab water, nothing happend,so i took them in about 90° for an hour and after that in the dryer at hottest setting.they shrank about one inch in lenght, the waist did even streched to a 34 after some wear:eek:.

i would recommend to buy them true to size or size down one.Same happened to my 1873(first blue jean, probably the same denim).anyway, the detailing on the 201 is great,i might gonna fit in them in about 10 years:D.

  10. pulled the plug on a pair of 201's the other day. I was given an offer I couldnt refuse

The buttons got a nice patina post soak:

    lovely fabric:

As i also own the 201 but make the mistake and size up one ( levis advice is size up two) and they didnt shrink at all and i am a bit disappointed with the fit, would you mind and provide us with some fitpics?

  11. Size down 1 for the Okinawas?

I can only speak for the raws, iam a true w32 and got a 32 which is a comfortable fit but i could have sized down one.concerning the measurements for ow iam not sure though.

  12. What do you all reckon is the most durable denim/brand going right now? Aside from monsters like Iron Heart. Something still in the 13-17oz range that really takes a beating.

My sc okinawa survived a roadaccident very well, the denim looks really tough, apart from that, all of my lvc stuff holds up quiet good, never had any problems like crotch blowout or threads coming loose.and as far as i know lvc use all cottonthread.

  13. Holy shit.before checking this thread first time tonight i shifted careless through other threads having some beers, munching crisps and all of sudden this unspeakable horror appears on my monitor.my computer is now covered in crisps and beer and it will be a nightmare to get all this shit off.How unprepared i was but you guys delivered,i havent laughed that much in a long time.still wiping my tears off!

  14. warsteiner-verum.gif

They recently started carrying this in big chain stores like Kroger. I love the bitter after taste.

Warsteiner is a very popular industrial brewed pils and one of the biggest brands here in germany.i personaly prefer beer that is brewed the old way with natural ingredients.you can drink more and have less hangover.

  15. Looking to pick up these Nudie Regular Alfs from Denim Bar: http://www.denimbaronline.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=470&DEPARTMENT_ID=38

This will be my first foray into the world of Nudies. How do they size typically? Are they usually true to size? Because they are predistressed and washed, will they not shrink at all compared to raw?

    Any help is appreciated.

Why do you want to spend so much money on nudies ?

Anyway, nudies are sanforized and dont shrink at all,but they do stretch a good amount.hope that helps.

  16. cheers paul,will try that.iam a true 32waist and could even sqeeze in a w32 47 (2001)

without any problems, just the common tricks like 30min cold soak and streching the waist whilst wet.after 6 month of constant wear i dared a 30°wash and the waist did shrink a bit but streched back easily.so a 55 in w31 should be fine.
