does anyone know if these vibram soles were made exclusively for fracap or if they're available for resoling?
That pattern doesn't crop up on any vibram catalogue?
http://www.vibram.com/vibramrepair/ricerca_avanzata.php?&numero_pagina=1&inizio=0
Morflex sole is so light though. Fracaps are so much lighter than Danner Mountain Lights.

Hate to ask but Im really stuck about what size to get the Fracaps in. I typically wear a UK11 in Vans, Nike, whatever, but talk about these being really narrow is making me thing maybe I should go for a UK12. My feet are pretty average as far as width goes. If possible I would rather stick with the smaller size aesthetically (and I figure leather will eventually stretch a bit), but I dont want to wind up with a boot I cant wear.
So for the people who own the Fracaps, would sizing up be the way to go? Or were you able to stick with your sneaker size?
Well i wear UK9 in nikes (bar af1 uk8.5 and blazer uk9.5) and the fracaps were just slightly too narrow on across the toes. I could feel the leather putting pressure on my little toe of my right foot (which is slightly bigger). Shame they don't do half sizes, as they;d be perfect. The lacing at the bottom of the shoe is purely aesthetic, you can only really tighten at the top. I would guess that they are a D width. Hoping the Derbys (which oki-ni supposed to be getting in Jan) are made with a different last.

fuck viberg. it's some trife shit that they stopped letting vendors sell customized models. i inquired directly about a model that vendors used to sell for about $300... now you can only get it through viberg for $450.
Hiker's $460 cad. You are lucky I guess, as there are no Vendors in the UK that sell them, the only problem is the postage from Canada for a pair of boots is $$$$.
Think I may wait til I go to HK and check out Ultraboots.

Fracaps arrived today:
Awesome shoe, same sig inside mine as on a pair on rakuten, there must be like one old guy at the very end who just gives them the once over. Devastated after trying them on in the office that they are going back to the vendor, as the sz43/uk9 just ain't wide enough on the toes. You need narrow feet for these. :-(

Courtesy of Dead Wizard, I've been scouring "Backpacker" on google books. Some interesting Danners from jun/jul 1979, Pacific Crests:
There's so many more hiking boots from brands that I don't even think still exist worth going through.

When does their sale usually start? Is that leather vest even down? I grabbed it today, its so thin, doesn't even feel like there's any fill power of it. Shame, as the leather itself is nice. Made In China. If it had the fill power and thickness of a north face nuptse it would be win. All the good shirts (imo) are all gone imo. I like the sweat pants in there. Interesting to see the arc logos this a/w aren't going fast.

"No Russian" is about the coolest mission in any game ever. I guess this is the one people find offensive, I just laughed my ass off when the elevator door opened, and laughed some more at the plot twist at the end. Not that I find what takes place in the mission funny, I just really wasn't expecting it and it was hilarious what was happening in a video game.
The music of this mission is immense. Hans Zimmer done good.
Lance Henriksen has THE VOICE.

i bought the Folk 7 holes in US11 and they fit fine ..... 12's would be way too big ... I've never owned the Serra's but I'm thinking they would be fine if they are running to size like what seems all of this season's footwear.
No way do Fangs run big... true to size.

Pics of Fracaps and Danners worn?

they restock kind of randomly - if there's an imbalance of stock in one of the three locations (ny, la, web) they'll redistribute. or if stock gets low and they have a bunch in the warehouse etc. however, at this point i doubt there's boxes and boxes of green timberlines sitting out there.
Gash. I fly out to NY last week of Nov, sounds like my timing = fail, not just on timberlines but general stock holding.

Went to go purchase that jacket today just to find out they sold out already in medium and large for that green colorway..
Guess I gotta get it online. Looks good in that pic though.
Do the stores not restock over the course of the season, or at least until the 2nd main drop of the season?

Can someone please start an online petition with Danner... I just emailed them about the Mountain Light, asking why they don't sell a boot they make in the country of manufacture... my guess is Danner JP is a licensed company...
I am sorry, but the Danner Mountain light boots are made, under contract to their specifications, for Japan only. We are not able to sell them through us. Let me know if you have any other questions.Thank you

Don't tell me you scared of a few Nigerians in 3/4 length suits?
Chung King gets a bad rap I think. I had two little Korean girls who were friends of mine backpacking and that shit was fine.
I walked in and out of that place looking for an internet cafe... utter utter utter shit hole... had a guy grab my on my arm wanting me to show some shit, and also saw 2 DODGY looking guys in an alleyway who, after making eye contact with, decided that I was interesting enough to follow. Completely marched outta there as fast as possible.
SHAM SUI PO after midnight is a bit of a dump... only place in HK where I seen roaches running around the streets, and dodgy Africans unloading dodgy shit outta the back of dodgy trucks (no dodgy racism, just stating what I saw and it looked dodgy).

what are you watching today?

Not sure about "Bodyguards & Assassins", looks like it was filmed on the same set as Ip Man, and I also find Simon Yam really annoying and am confused as to why his film career is so long.
Vengeance was worth watching although my French friend was correct in telling me that Johnny Hallyday can't act. (He has very blue eyes though). Anthony Wong and Suet Lam and the other guy who's name I can't remember were the best actors in it. Johnnie To seems to be making more and more pretentious films though.
Avatar was amazing in 3D, although there's a lot of comments going around about its 'racist' undertones which make for interesting reading. Regardless, its enjoyable (albeit cheesy).
