  1. Can anyone recommended cobblers that will carry out Vibram sole replacements in Taipei?

Dr Sole won't do it for obvious reasons, as they don't deal with soles that aren't Dr Sole.

EDIT: In fact Dr Sole do offer that service. 40 USD, nice.

  2. Yup, their customer service is shocking. Slow in shipping and never respond to any of your emails, even if it relates to the order you've put through.

10 years ago when I used to order my Stussy and Carhartt tees from them, they used to be alright. Plus their sales were really good. It all went down hill when they closed their physical store and went online only.

Out of Noma, The Fat Duck, Dinner by Heston and El Celler De Can Roca, I still feel The Fat Duck is the best all-rounder. Shame they haven't refreshed the menu over the years and therefore slipped down the list. However, I did think El Celler De Can Roca had the best personal touch out of the lot, with the three brothers doing meet and greets and Josep visiting diners during service and talking with them to ensure that everything is okay.

  7. Trip to El Celler De Can Roca

We were given a kitchen/cellar tour:

The cellar was a lot bigger and had many more shelves than the photo above suggests. I mean these were the wine lists (books):

  8. Have a read of this page and the past few, a lot of excellent recommendations have been put forward by quite a few people already. Then perhaps come back and ask for something more specific ?

As for places to stay, check Airbnb, I used that last time and it worked out well, so much so I'll be using it again third time around, same host, but different property of theirs.

Any Taipei heads have any experience with the guy behind this http://www.fixedtaipei.com/ ? Checked out his store last time I was there, but as I was already in the third week of my time being there, I didn't have time to put an order in (takes 2-3 weeks). Thinking to pick one up as they're custom built and around 12,000 TWD (if I remember correctly) for a full setup.

  9. Days of the superclub (Fabric etc.) are over. The nightlife in London has gone underground. It's all about small clubs with pop up nights, private parties, warehouse parties, etc.

As for the modern day douche bag, yeah if you go to big(ger) clubs you're bound to run into those idiots up and down the UK.

    Oh and Egg is shit.

  10. congrats on negotiating attractive terms.

i never tell anyone the value of the clothes that i'm wearing

sometimes i lie and tell them i am wearing h&m just to fuck with people

or that i got it "on sale" for "about $100"

makes things easier and simpler for everyone

I tried that. But when your Girlfriend knows how to Google and wants to buy you a surprise Birthday present... best laid plans and all that...
