  1. Most stockists went into the sale a month or so back like End, Hanon, Tres. Think Sneakersnstuff is the only place to still have it as full price.

The swift tights are great, but don't expect the webbed print on the leggings to last longer than a few washes. The print on mine has already started to crack in places. It's to be expected really with the nature of material paint on that type of material.

  2. for those with the room spray : how do you use it ? I noticed I have to spray quite a big amount in my living room if I want the scent to remain the whole day. I also spray it on my clothes, but I am afraid it may stain ?

I use it as a fragrance and leave it to the candles to scent the room...

  3. So there are two Nike+ apps for the iPhone/iPod. The stock app requires a sensor and the other one from the App Store uses GPS; no sensor required.

Which app do you guys use and did you buy the sensor?

I use the Nike+ that doesn't require a sensor and uses the GPS, works well.

  4. I am generally slow... because if I am honest, I'm pretty unfit haha. Been running on and off the past year or so, hoping joining this group will encourage me to get out more and set higher goals.

This is my current running track:

    Shuangxi riverside park

I'm going to miss it when I return to the UK, running by a river is so much better than running along side cars on the road.

On a side note, I'm guessing a good few of you are running with smartphones to track progress. Any recommendations on sports armbands for the iPhone 5...? Looked at a few, Incase, Griffin etc. But after reading some reviews they don't sound so great i.e. suffering from condensation, or the seals aren't fully waterproofed allowing rain water to seep in. If I'm wearing my light weight jacket I tend to put the phone in my jacket pocket, but I'm looking for a solution during the summer months when it will be too hot to wear a jacket.

  5. Went to NingXia night market yesterday, really liked it, rain put off a lot of crowds, so navigating and queuing for food was a breeze. If you could only do one stall there, it has to be the taro ball stall, their deep fried taro ball with pork floss and pickled yolk inside is devine. Best snack I've had in Taipei to date. I also think I prefer NingXia to Shilin...

  6. Went to Invincible the other day, one of the female SA's there was laughable, gave us shit face throughout the whole time we were in the store. The downstairs basement area had a lot of old Converse stock, Mackintosh x Converse, Missoni Cons from previous seasons etc. They also had the more recent auckland racer. Spotted a couple of Flyknit trainers, but didn't have the white/white colourway I was after.

The Complete Studio was better than I had anticipated, they were refitting the upstairs for new season stock. Downstairs had a rail of old Bape (inc Bape x Futura) wares from the early noughties. Few NBHD pieces and W)taps accessories in particular the storage boxes. They had 6 pairs of Visvim footwear for sale, FBTs, Flynt Lo's, Buey Trekkers x2, can't remember the other two pairs. All of which were in the sale, think 30% or 40% off? Will check it out again next week may be. The SA there was friendly enough. Still amazed how a store like that survives considering their mark up (much higher than HK/Singapore) and the rental cost of the shop front in that area. I mean realistically how many sales are they making a month? a dozen or even less? They must be under an umbrella company and supported by other stores that share the same umbrella.

Went to the Bape store for a laugh...

Wow Outlet was really good, loads of CDG and Undercover in the sale, as well as Rick Owens, Junya Watanabe, 45rpm, Ann Dem etc. As mentioned previously by someone else it is an outlet for the Msyaming group, loads of Givenchy etc. I'd say the stock was split 70% female 30% male.

  7. Long shot, but does anyone know of any Nike flyknit stockists? Wouldn't mind grabbing a pair while I'm out here. Also any places stocking Gyakusou ?

Also you say Taipei having a vibrant Indie Rock scene... any clubs that reflect this? I don't mind House (would've gone last night) but the other half can't stand it.

  8. Werty and Prokart, looks like I have a lot more exploring to do !

Found NY Fantasy, a consignment/reseller store on the corner across the road from Shipai MRT station. Just had a peek last night to satisfy my curiosity. Stocks a lot of Supreme (inc CDG shirt collab at reseller prices), Redwing, Moncler (odd piece) and other random streetwear labels. What baffled me about the place were the two aunties running tings

  9. I somewhat retract my statement earlier about the shopping side of things.

Came across a few boutiques inside Eslite shopping mall today.

Tuan Tuan, stocked a fairly wide range of CDG (Black label, Play, Shirt and a decent selection of their leather wallets/purses etc.), Junya Watanabe, old Undercover stock (looks like left overs from UC Taipei), Rick Owens, Ann Dem etc. Everything in store was 30% off. Also upon further research they're under the Msyaming umbrella, whom cover Jil Sander, MMM, Givenchy and 45RPM stores in Taiwan.

Secret Service, had an odd mix of local labels along with Henrik Vibskov (the latter in the 40% sale).

Cocoaleaf, Stone Island stockist that had a handful of Stone Island x Shadow Project jackets, the whole store had 10% off on because of Chinese New Year.

  10. Ah my bad, I was under the impression the Bape store was near/close to the UC store. Just Google mapped it and it's across the roundabout from The Complete Studio.

Will check out Wow outlet, sounds pretty random.

Just saw one of your earlier posts about travelling out of Taipei, have you thought about Kenting in southern Taipei for surfing... ? Will be heading there myself this coming week as it's CNY.

  11. Undercover and Undercover Noodle bar have closed, it's now Wow outlet.

No Bape store either, not that it bothers me.

Carhartt WIP is a cool store, despite no longer being into the label (used to enjoy the European line about 10 years ago).

Take5 and Faith don't do denim repairs, only chain stitching, so looks like I'll have to get my jeans repaired back in the UK. US rockers? opposite Take 5 was cool, had loads of Dickies legwear, including the slim straight work pants. Tried a pair on, for $1880 they seemed a bargain.

    Filson was alright.

Went around the area about 9pm and most boutiques closed by about 10, but I'm under the impression there isn't much else there? Yet to check out The Complete Studio.

Overall, very disappointed, especially when you compare it to other Asian cities like Singapore and Hong Kong (Tokyo and other Japanese cities are given). Expected a lot more and was very let down by it all.

Do Taiwanese not care much for fashion apart from Japanese denim and American workwear? I didn't see many if at all people rocking that gear apart from SAs in the area. Also didn't think it was very fashionable at all, see a lot more better dressed on the streets of London and even Paris etc than in Taipei. Said to the missus that I think pretty much all Taiwanese people dress like fobs like Hong Kongers... she wasn't impressed and was put in the doghouse for the rest of the evening haha.
