Anyone with OW done a pre soak?
curious how much additional shrink you got?I did a full 40 degree wash + 45 minutes in the dryer the other day and didn't get that much shrinkage really.
Waist (across): 14.5" -> 14"
Rise: 12.75" -> 12.5"
Thigh: a hair over 11.5" -> a hair under 11.5"
Inseam: 30" -> 29.5"
(Funny thing, even though I use the metric system, I only measure jeans in inches, it's usually easier for comparison.)9 -
I felt brave and used the industrial machines in the basement of my building. Threw the jeans in with everything my new puppy has peed on this last week, so soft stuff like sheets, linens and towels, and did a 40 degree wash + 45 mins in the dryer. Didn't get that much inseam shrinkage, only 0.5", but about an inch in the waist. Nothing to speak of in the thighs, thankfully. They still fit!

What size is your Caturday tee?
It's a medium. Very happy with that as well! Men's size small usually fits me fine, but I've kind of gravitated towards a looser fit lately - and I'm also not taking chances with Japanese sizing, my size s Warehouse tees are really small.
Edit: added an important not.

Thanks, @el padre, I'll get right on that!

They're here! #61 checking in!
The sizing issues in this thread had me concerned, but they fit just great and I have an inch to spare in the waist. Have you other one washers washed again or plan to do so? I think I will just to get all the inseam shrinkage out of the way and hopefully get the roping started. Sorry about the sloppy cuffing (first autocorrected to muffin!), was just trying them on very quickly.
Happy with the pocket bags as well!

Woke up to a notification myself, yay!

I am more concerned about the thighs.
As was I, but your measurements gave me peace of mind. Thanks!

That's a mighty good fit, @chicote! I ordered the same size in OW and going by your measurements I think I'll be fine, phew. Now I'm just staring into space, waiting for that shipping notification.

How did you go about adding it to the contest jean order? E-mail to Ryo?

I'm all for it! The Caturday tee sure looks mighty nice, not just the print but also the neck opening and the weight.

As far as sizing, I've said 'screw it' and always up size when in doubt.
Been thinking about sizing the last 48hs, but I'm pretty confident that my optimistic approach will be okay. I've been furloughed for a couple of months now and really dedicated myself to long hikes and workouts (luckily no leg days, since I find that so boring) so I fit 29 comfortably again and ordered a size 30. Now I just have to stick to culinary moderation for the next couple of months...

who else is going no cuffs? @ecsong187 and who else?
Count me in as well! I had the same idea as @bartlebyyphonics, 30" one-washed, hopefully 29" after a few more washes. I'm about 5"9.5' and like to wear 'em high and short.

Thanks, all of you! This has been a very pleasant return to the forum.
(Not that it's urgent at all, just wait until the next batch, but I think you forgot to put me on the list, @volvo240thebest. Thanks for all the help!)

Pre-order done
I didn't get an option to enter a comment in the process (to say that I'm in the contest and to state what length I'd like), but I used the contact form to add that info - hope he gets it. Looks like I'll be going a bit slimmer than most of you, hopefully something like this:

I'm back from my internet and social media hiatus, and I'm in!
@volvo240thebest sent the nicest e-mail to let me know about this contest, and I must admit it was an easy sell since I love both the 40s cut and TCB denim. Glad to be here again!

So I've been working a lot lately, but last week I got to take two days off and go to a friend's cabin a couple of hours south of Oslo, and then to a wedding on the north-west coast of Norway this weekend. Some photos.
I jumped from the cliffs back there, just the middle but it was high enough for me. Also take note of the boat, it will reappear.
Making spring rolls with my friend's older sister and the kids. I'm in the middle of saying something - - I hope.
Late night swimming with the kids.
The neighbor took us out in that rib (or whatever it's called). I always get a bit annoyed when they speed past me, making noise and waves and looking douchey, but it sure was fun to ride one. Fast, and it jumped a lot.Okay, so on to the trip to Molde, about 5,5 hours by train followed by two hours on a bus and a ferry away.
A few vistas seen from the train. The last one is Trollveggen, "the troll wall" (to the very left), the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, about 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) from its base to the summit of its highest point (copy-pasted from Wikipedia). It was really popular with base jumpers until they banned it after too many accidents.
I arrived at the swanky hotel famous for it's view and saw only this for the duration of the stay. Haha.
Just before the wedding I had time to hurry up this steep hill behind the city to photograph the view for this update. Cruise ship still in the way there...
On the way down I came by this place. I didn't walk the line...
But I couldn't resist climbing this thing!
The wedding was held at my friend's childhood home. I never realized she was that old money. The place was huge, so nice, with an exciting history.
Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, one of Norway's most famous writers and one of three Nobel prize laureates in literature from here, was a friend of the family. As was Henrik Ibsen, the playwright, and Alexander Kielland, another one of the big ones.
A scary portrait in the dining room. Probably a relative, they weren't sure who. My friend told me that because of that painting she was afraid to be in that room alone when she was younger. I would be afraid today.
Finally: Jeans on a train. That was the only time I wore them during this time. Too hot, plus dress code at the wedding.(It says that the size limit for photos is 7MB but I get an error for anything bigger than 2MB hence the small sizes.)

Thanks, @MJF9! I saw people from warmer climes making (good-natured) fun of our heatwave (or "heatwave") in another thread but it's all relative!
I'll admit it's frightening to think about why it's happening and what the long-term effects might be, but in the short-term I'm choosing to be carefree and embrace it.2 -
Work is finally a bit more manageable and I had time to prepare a little update this weekend.
First a fit and status pic that I also posted on instagram. I'm at either three or four washes, approaching the state of the previous jean when it was returned. I think this one is a little tighter than the last (it's not me getting bigger because other jeans fit the same) which has a small effect on wear (whiskers and thighs).
My monstera deliciosa (Swiss cheese plant) deserves a photo too. It's growing outta control!
On Saturday morning I decided to bike to the beach and since I left home before it got too hot, I wore jeans. After passing through the city centre, which can be quite a hassle, it's smooth, flat sailing along the harbor. Here's the ferry to Kiel, Germany.
The king's cows chilling outside the royal farm.
Bygdøy is an excellent place to go running. Lots and lots of paths through the forest and the tree coverage provides shade from the sun.
At my destination, the beach. This was early, before the masses arrived.
Found a nice spot by the water.
It's raining today - which I think everyone's happy about, especially farmers, but the heatwave continues tomorrow.18 -
Haha! I know. But I can't change the way I feel... Well, maybe with a little exposure therapy!

Giving my jeans another wash today! I'm not 100 % sure, but I think it's only the second after the initial pre-wear wash. At this point in I had worn the previous pair more for many reasons, most importantly that Norway has experienced a heatwave recently that has taken away a lot of wear-time. The last few weeks have been cold but now we're back at 30 degrees celcius and shorts again.
The folds on the left thigh (to the right here) shifted a bit after the first real wash, when the jeans shrunk a bit more.
The wear on the back is real and because I got myself a new fancy bike with a hard Brooks seat that I'm trying to break in. Here's the bike!
I bought it with the intention of going on more long bike trips, on the road and off-road, perhaps camping, but so far I've only biked around the neighborhood and to the office (five minutes away) a couple of times. But soon!
The heatwave as experienced by my cat:Last week I went out walking in the rain in the Wesco boots that I rarely wear. I really do love them, and I dig the look on others, but for some reason it feels a bit too much with these jeans, almost costume-y. I'll get past that and wear them more though.

Looking good, @FreeCharlesManson!

Greetings! I've been really, really busy at work - and posting less means posting even less, if that makes any sense. I'll get my sh*t together! Since I last posted I've celebrated my birthday, run a relay race, attended a wedding in Lisbon, gone camping, and all I have pictures of is other people. No me, no jeans. But I'll be back with a real update soon.

The jeans look and feel so much like the last ones that I haven’t really felt it necessary to document the same part of the process, plus I’ve been more or less living in a suitcase the past two months, but for the sake of participation I have a mini Instagram update.
Nice sunny weather here, but still cold enough to wear my most favouritest jacket that I just mended.
