  1. HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN???

You tell me?! I've done this (hot-soak) to all of my jeans: Turn the jeans inside out, put them into washing machine without detergent, choose very hot program 90C/190F, put the machine on, wait until it has warmed to that temperature, take the power off (jeans are still in the water) wait for hour - two hours, put power on and let the water out of the machine, take your jeans out and let them dry overnight.

The new leatherpatch on John Bull's was somekind of "glove-leather"-like, very soft and thin. Not like the old patch which was much nicer, like the one in my jeans jacket:

  2. While on much less offical of a fast than you, these guys just broke my 9 month streak. Stay strong, I'm currently experiencing mixed emotions of giddy jeans induced excitment, while at the same time wondering how tight the morgage is going to be next month. This is a feeling I am all too familiar with.

Well, at the price they're asking it's like putting money into the bank! :D

  3. since when has quality become a gimmick? i see samurai posts on here everyday. this edmond guy kills me. i wish he would go away like milli-vanilli. i never thought the masses of superfuturians wore samurai anyway. i like warehouse, but i like my jeans to look like james dean/shirasu jiro than some jeans my ancestors wore to pick cotton.

sorry to be Mr. Synical, but i dont usually post unless i get pissed, or really excited about something new, like those new oni veg blue with the selvage arc. whats cornier, two warriors, or motorcycle pigs? no offense to SDA, but come on.

see, this is why beatle is that chick, she is the only contest person who consistently posts new pics, she doesnt say dumb shit, and she rocks her sams harder than most of these poser/pseudo heads. this is why shes hot. take note edmond!

    Tough day? :)

  4. moykky - the john bull SC look like they fit you the best imo...cheers for the photos.

Thanks. I bought those jeans for summertime. Us northern vikings cant wear anything heavier than 14oz when the temperature rises to 20C/70F -those days aren't many though.

Those John Bulls are a littlebit different from the rest, they're roomier around hips and thighs. Leg opening is about the same on every pair (about 7.5").

For those who wonder what happened to the (new and not so nice design) leather patch:

It couldn't take the hot soak, it turned to porcelain... :(

  5. The lids off this little gem. I got a pair of Eternal 811's(w/tabs) from them. Good price, great respones via email and EMS(japanese shipping service) makes FED EX and UPS look like dopes in comparison. I'm still trying to figure out how my stuff got delivered on Easter Sunday.

Just for you to know that EMS is international parcel service working in over 180 countries. Thats what I'm using if I want to send something abroad. :)

  6. I'm 183cm, 66kg (6 feet 145 lbs). And every gram is pure muscle...

I decided to do this comparison. All these look the same on 'paper', but here they are... Crappy pictures, had to brighten them a lot.

    Up-down:

    Samurai S710xx 19oz. 30x36,

    Skull 5010xx 30x34,

John Bull Sewing Chop 002 30x34.

Samurais are worn everyday for about six weeks (stretched), Skulls are stretched a lot too, SC002 still waiting for the summer.

  7. of course, diesel and levis are way over priced. compared to other japanese denim brands though, like eternal (costs about 170 usd) and pbj (190 through proxy), the price of samurai's seem unwarranted.

Hmm... there's a point there... I don't have PBJ or Eternal, but I have SDA for example which is similarly priced as S... and I think that Samurais are more special and appealing (to me at least). I wouldn't even bought sda's but I happen to like pigs!

Pure Blues seem very nice but I'd take Flat head instead because they have more character and attitude in my books. That's why I like Skull (=reasonably priced!) and Samurai. Maybe I'm paying more because of my own visions and mental pictures... :)

  8. only for the people who can afford it.
in terms of price, i find samurai to be a bit on the expensive side for what they offer. without in depth introduction (aka marketing) or innovation like 45 rpm, i find it hard to shell out the steep prices for a pair.. other companies like pbj offer a great pair of unique denim that you wont find anywhere else for an amount that translates into great value. with that being said, i still bought a pair anyways :P

ps: this thread title reminds me of the evisu one.

The price is a relative matter. Here where I live everything is expensive compared to, for example, US. Levis jeans cost 130 to 200usd. Diesel jeans up to 300usd. Samurai jeans (ordered from Japan) ~240usd.

I think that it's marketing and innovation what people are paying when they buy brands like Diesel, Acne, etc... Samurai are just badass jeans for nasty motherf*ckers! :D

  9. There is a blessing; "Made in Japan"

There is a curse; "Made in China"

When looking for mills two years ago, it was much easier to look in Japan than in China. For me, then, everything that came out of Japan was good. And at the same time, i thought, finding a comparable quality in China was a shot in the dark.

Today; wouldn't it be ignorant to think that, for example, if the indigo is from India, the cotton from Zimbabwe, that only Japanese mills could do a good job putting it all together?

As i'm writing this i think of what difference it would make if i bought the same ingredients for me and a gourmet chef, and compared the results. But then again, ignorance is bliss.

Chinese business politics is made some certain product so cheaply that it will drive others out from the field. I don't know if theres lot of skateboarders from the US but you of all should know...

The japanese love of quality (term "quality" discussed in another thread :) ), detail and uniqueness is one thing that makes "Made In Japan" appeal to me.

  10. Surfing around blueingreensoho.com i came about these pair of stitch's jeans:

    http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=72&category_id=&manufacturer_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28

The price chocked med quite a bit. The only thing i see that differs this stitch's model from all the other is the sterling silverwear and the Black Pearl. Does anyone have any experience with these jeans that can justify the price? or is it just pirates of the caibbean fanboys who buys these blackpearl jeans?

    Opie

    Oh my...

"You will discover that our denim has undergone extensive washes using patented processes. Our denims are aged in antique redwood barrels at an old laundry facility in Evansville, Wyoming, which is just a few miles east of Casper. The plant was built in 1948 and had remained idle for the last 23 years...." :)

I've never tasted any of me jeans but I'd like to taste those before we all go to hell...

  11. I'm sorry I'm not a denim expert so I guess I'm not good enough for these jeans?

It's not the end of the world, they're just jeans. My friend bought a gold fish and kept it almost two weeks before it died. She didn't feed it -thought that it gets nutrition from water or something.

Sell your jeans and think about the poor gold fish... :(
