I got my 1911’s for the same $ from GregNYC (for which I am STILL VERY grateful!). The sizing is odd-ish. These were a 9.5D, but fit like a 10.5C.
GregNYC had his cobbler do a width stretch on ‘em, but they were still too narrow and, for him, a bit too long. Thus, he sold them to me. I find the length closer to a 10.25, which is just barely okay for me. Even after the stretching, I’ve also found them tight (I like a D or E width).
But, they are just so good looking that I’ve been breaking them (and my feet) in over a period of some months. It is paying off, in that they are ever more comfortable. I keep wide shoe trees in them when not on my feet, which is also key.
I’m off to Aussie-land for a few days. I’d post wear photos, but I keep ‘em clean and buffed so they look just like Bill’s!
1911 doesn't have that wedge sole right? I actually like that (wedge) sole because it's so soft and comfortable. I also treated my boots with beeswax+hairdryer and they got really soft. They were a bit tight (width) at first but after the treatment theyre perfecto.

Should the voting be limited to superfuture members with over 100 posts or something, so that there isn't a bunch of "new members" signing up to vote for the best? Or maybe there should be a join date limitation. Like you needed to have joined sf before June 07 or something.
Or joined before the competition started?
Ugh, dave beat me to it...

I see how the fit on these can be confusing for people. The standard thinking on these is that they run long and narrow. They are definitely long for a 9 D, but I don't find them very narrow. The overall sillouette (look) of the shoe is much more narrow and shoe like than the average moc toe red wing, but I find the actaul fit to be pretty standard (i.e., the D width fits like a D)
I wear 10 or 10.5 in sneakers and stuff like that but my RW's are 9D and they have a fair bit of extra room in front of my toes ( correct sizing is courtesy of fellow forumee by the name superBobo
). I'd say 8.5 would be a little bit too tight, considering I don't have insoles yet...
Are you using an insole in those boots??I'm using a thin one and it makes the boot even more comfortable....
...but it seems they need ones?

Don't be stupid cause you asked dumbass questions and got chewed up when you were a noob. Once you can id his jeans and the way he sized from just the look of his jeans, then you can start whining on other people's behalfs.
But the time you reach this higher level of wisdom you don't care to whine anymore. You don't even care to wear jeans anymore...

I thought the new contest was gonna start January 1st...
But I might be wrong...
It would be cool to start at 31st so people wouldn't have to change jeans while yelling "happy new year!"...

They are size 32. I usually wear a 33, but as my S5000BK in 33 stretched to the point that they fall down without a belt, I thought that a 32 might be a future-proof investment! They were pretty painful to wear the first day though, as I could only just button them before they were washed.. I'll try and get some more detailed shots in a bit.
I'll be waiting! Can't find them on Samurai website...?

My new Samurai S7000VX. Wanted something a littler looser than my other jeans (S5000BK and Skull 5507XX) and I'm pretty happy with them. They're still a little stiff and so don't hang properly yet, but I'm pleased with how they fit.
Wow, I quote once more with picture since those are nice! What size are those?

i've had a pair of those bucks since 5th grade (been a size 12 since then). they're amazing.
If your school system isn't radically different from ours you must be one of those hairy canadians that run around forests... sasquatch or something?

Bumping this to hopefully get Black's question answered...I'm interested in BR jacket sizing as well. I recall they're sized in numeric-suit sizes (36, 38, etc.) Are they true to size?
They run small compares to american cousins. I have a Schott NYC A2 size 36 (I'm 183cm, 67kg) which is a little bit snug and I have size M Buzz R. B10 canvas jacket that fits great with hoodie or some thick sweater underneath. I'd say this M is about 40?
I would buy another BR jacket but they're too expensive to screw the sizing...

I am IN LOVE with those Alfred boots. Please tell me more about them and where to get them.
I am too!
And Beatle, very nice indeed! Can we see an "in action" picture soon -please!?

Poly, really nice color on those.
I second to that. The blue has very nice deep hue. Reminds me of our summer skies. Maybe I cherish that photo during our long and dark winter... Since there is no cheap hookers here I just settle for the cheap bottle.

They are not the same. 5010xx is a slim straight-leg cut whereas 19cm is a slim tapered cut, with longer inseams. My Skulls are sized down one, they have stretched, and I slouch them.
Thats hardcore! Do you mean that you sized down one from your true waist or down one from your usual size?
I have size 30 (my true waist) 5010xx and the front pockets are useless. If I slouch them I can't pull any Van Damme moves either...
So my vote is measure your hips ( minus 1") and order according to that.

I've had these for about 4 years now...
Pretty beat up.
I have a pair of 8 years old Puma Rome's that are actually hand made...
Has anyone bought those "factory seconds" Redwing boots from ebay? I just got a pair and I can't figure what is wrong with them? They had a little bit of glue on them but nothing a little polishing couldn't take care of. Pretty good deal and I've been eyeing those "europe only" lineman boots for a sometime now.

You could have taken at least two sizes smaller on both of them. Maybe one size smaller on FH... I think the FH's fit you better, though I'm a bit anal about anal.

another quick inquiry. my only real beef with my flat heads was the lower part of the leg, because it looks like this from the side
just super wide and dumb looking, at least thats how i feel it looks. are the skulls not gonna look like that? like more slim through the calf of the leg? thanks.
Dude, it looks good. Any slimmer than that it would look stupid with same amount of stacking.
Skulls are a bit skinnier.

^^ I knew that meteor thing was bullshit!

^^ I'd say you're fine with 31. At least they won't be too small. The measurements on Fabfour site are spot on, check there.

hdsy, those are beutifull! Damn, I wish I could commit to just one jeans...

^^ So they don't ship overseas anymore...

Ha, I know they're a British company, but it seems that not many of their stores in the UK stock the leather version of those Chukka boots...that's if they even stock the Chukka boots in the first place.
You can order them straight from the factory. If you have a chance to go to their Jermyn street shop you can measure your size. By ordering from the factory you can have what ever like chukka boots you like (different leathers, color, combinations, soles, etc...). I would like to have their jodhpur boots...

Nice fit jpgm!
How much is the rise on those? Compared to 710's?

Hmm still waiting for mine to come (reserved back in June)
Tried to ask him but the language barrier sort of screwed something up lol.
Anyone else know when the previous batch is meant to be shipped out?...
End of this month or early next month (501xx 14oz and Western shirt).

Well, they're dark like Gap Morrisons are dark. Almost look unwashed. The marks are fairly light.
My question is do you guys think the denim, overall, will fade enough to make the marks less pronounced? I wouldn't mind if the honeycombs faded completely, that would be ideal. I don't really care for predistressing of any sort, but these are pretty subtle so I'm hoping they might fade with a soak or wash.
Any credible advice?
If you like the jeans, just wear them. If you're concerned about the fading -or at least bit interested about it I'd suggest that you buy some raw jeans.

What in the fuck? Those are some ugly jeans.+1...I'm sure the denim is beautiful, and the details are all cool...but damn...they's UGLY.
Agreed. Maybe someone could still feel good wearing them what ever reasons.

I still have two pairs of old 8 eyelets ( that are made in UK).
Past 10 years they have been making them in China and THOSE are bad.
