  1. These aren't selvedge (sorry about the appalling photography) but they're made in Japan and there is a selvedge pair in the European line.

The single knees still exist in both lines along with most of the heritage cuts (double knee, simple pant, western pant)

  2. nice shot gem- Is the tour hitting canterbury tomo i may well venture over and chack it out as its only 15 min away,is great to see the tour over in the uk again

Cheers seen, yeah it's Greenwich to Canterbury tomorrow. It's such an amazing site, I don't care how many drugs they take there's no greater physical challenge in world sport.

  3. Any one else go to the Prologue today? Just got back from Hyde park, amazing, so good to see the Tour in London..

Sorry about the shitty photo, it's a lonely business time trialing...

  4. When I look at old school bmx's two things strike me:

    1. How garish and over complicated they look. (compared to the below, this is not my bike it just illustrates the point nicely)

    attachment.php?attachmentid=79724&stc=1&d=1183223493

    2. How shit they were mechanically, threaded headsets needed constant attention and if you looked at the forks the wrong way they'd bend.

  5. I'll take some updated photos this evening if you want. Like all black jeans they take an age to fade but I'm very happy with how they're turning out.

Where they have worn they've definitely faded to grey, no blue...

  6. btw, is there a special tool to get the peddals of some bikes? I was able to get the ones off my old bike off pretty easy, but the ones on the San Jose wont budge

    any help?

The imaginatively named pedal spanner, it's just a reinforced 15mm spanner. If -when the bike was assembled- the mechanic neglected to grease the threads on the pedal spindle then getting them off may be a nightmare.

If this is the case, take the crank off the bike and make a triangle out of the spanner and crank arm then stamp on the pedal spindle and it should come undone.

  7. your new roommate is 55/Rad on bikeforums? that's a custom paint job...

by the way probably my favourite italian build, ever. delta "speed modulating" brakes, haha.

Those delta brakes are the most overcomplicated but beautiful bicycle components I've ever come across. They also do not work particularly well and weigh a comparative tonne.

  8. With regards to the sizing issue, I also order my true measured size (31"), and whilst at first they were quite tight they have stretched out to about a 32". Another few points to observe; the thighs are quite slim and so if yours are big I would size up. Also If you have long legs I would not get these as mine can without any hemming at about a 32" leg. Something I find a bit unusual for Japanese jeans. I you have any queries with the sizing, I found that the BiG size chart was on the money except for the leg - there will however always be a few exceptions.

If anyone is reading this in the UK and looking to get some eternals I would recommend parachutes. I got these and a Fob Factory shirt which came to £160 for the lot. He even marked the package as a gift so it was tax free.

I welcome any comments on the fit etc.

Quality fit, I've been wanting to get a pair of 811's for a while but I keep getting stung for tax on JP imports. Could you let me know the details for parachutes?

  9. Just received my Skulls 5010xx. Take a look at the fit.

I love this style (and the jeans <3), not skin tight not too baggy.

Problem however is, how do i keep this fit. Skull Experts: Please help me out with some advice:

    *Cold soak for ... hours.

    *Hot soak for ... hours.

*Return for a size 29? (i doubt it and i also don't hope so)

    Thanks in advance!

They look fantastic Pieter, I've still not soaked mine so don't know how much they'll shrink. I've worn them for a couple of months and the whiskers and combs have set really well...

  10. from what i heared

heavy shitz from vsvm this a/w

    leather bomber+gore

    down jkt+gore

    pea coat+gore

    bickle with fleece

The herringbone bickle is amazing too as the are herringbone mess pants.

God knows how much the pea coat is going to be but I'm sure it'll be crazy money. Green tweed that's gore lined with white zips, stunning.

  11. Did anyone here go? I went out on Thursday and have just got back to London.

There's so much to see, I got a bit numb to it all after three solid days. Liste or Scope were the best shows for me, a lot more relaxed than the main event...

  13. I'm going from when I moved to London 9 years ago, the only jeans of note I had from my youth were some red levis... I was lucky enough to wander into Interstate soon after I moved here so got into (loose fitting) Edwins early, cheers Roberto.

Pre: Carhartt Staff and Western Pants, Vintage-washed Edwin Waynesville, Edwin Sen S, Silas Classics.

Post: Carhartt Round-up, Allen and Slim Pants, Edwin ED77's in a few denims, Imperial Dukes, Skull 5010 6x6's, Tenderloin T Rider C's... Apart from the Tenderloins there's definitely a slimmer vibe going on now.

  14. Hey, quick question for those of you that have purchased skulls recently. I ordered a pair of 5507xx's about a year ago and they are great (thanks Shinichi) and I'm ready to buy a pair of 5507xx 6x6 now; I've emailed Shinichi and he mentioned that parcels can't be undervalued anymore... has anyone had any trouble with that? I'm curious if any of you have been getting dinged heavilly for it as they come into your country. I live in Canada.

I got a pair of jeans and some other bits from Shinichi about a month ago and got hit badly at customs (35% of the value of the package) Having said that I've also purchased some T-shirts recently from Japan and only paid 8% tax, no idea why there's such a massive discrepancy...

I'm based in London, hopefully Canadian customs aren't quite so overzealous

  15. Definitely spend some time in Basel if you can, I'm there a lot for work and love the place, it'll also be a nice change in pace to the larger towns you're going to visit... As someone else has mentioned Lausanne is stunning and well worth the trek.

As for London, have a look at the Three Threads (www.thethreethreads.com) for something a bit different. I'd also rate a day trawling round the vintage stores in Notting Hill/Golbourne Road worth a week in the West End but don't miss Dover St. Market...

Forgot to mention, have an amazing time...
