Where can I get this jacket?
In the U.K. the only place you'll find it is Oipolloi in Manchester. www.oipolloi.com

You're certainly adding weight to the 36'' leg petition....
Carhartts history is a microcosm of the American workwear manufacturing industry -as I understand it- they're so unaffected by their history that a clothing archive of any size is only just being established now. Back in the early 1900's they had a mill in Liverpool of all places, how good would it be to celebrate this in a piece of clothing?
Getting the balance right between having a range that has a broad commercial appeal whilst not appearing to 'sell out' is an extremely difficult balancing act that companies generally deal with by tiering their ranges. This is something we've resisted for a number of reasons but I'd be interested in peoples thoughts on the matter.
A good short history of Carhartt can be found here, not much on the product but alot of business information: http://www.answers.com/topic/carhartt-inc

They've not arrived at our warehouse though they should be here by the end of the month. Carhartt Europe does not have their own click to buy site but you should be able to get them through www.flatspot.com or www.wellgosh.com when they arrive.
If you PM me your email address I'll send out a group email to everyone who's interested when the stock arrives.

any idea where I could try these on in NYC?
These won't be available in NYC I'm afraid. The license we've got with Carhartt Inc. does not allow us to sell our product in the States.

The non-selvedge Round-Up pant on the left has a zip fly, the selvedge Allen pant is a button fly.

Gem Art, I need you to urgently feedback to someone in Carhartt HQ (?) that Im going to need these bad boys in a 36 - hell, make it longer since they'll shrink - when you make your next production run.
Whats the UK price on 'em anyway?
It depends on the shop, they'll probably be £75 at Interstate. I'll ask about the 36'' leg, I can't remember if I mentioned that Westerns are now available in a 36.

I will be visiting the Carhartt store in Sydney this weekend to see if they will get these in. They are on sale and so is the supreme store underneath so its worth a look in.
I doubt they'll have them in yet, my inventory is saying that they've not arrived at our main warehouse yet though it would have made sense if they'd shipped them straight to Aus. from JP. Say hello to Shawn if you see him.

Thanks Tweedles,
We were torn a little bit between making these affordable and going all out, hope we got the balance right. I'll post some pictures of me wearing them once I get my allowance.

I'm back... I generally lurk about but there are so many threads that some -like this- slip by. Anyway Carhartt selvedge, as fucanelli mentions will be available Europe wide in the next week or so.
The jeans are made by Edwin out of Japanese denim in Japan. There are three Japanese models available; one twelve oz selvedge and a black and an indigo thirteen and a half oz non-selvedge. The U.K. retail on the dry version of all these styles will be between £75 and £85 depending on the store, pictures below.
Cut-wise they're a low-rise version of our Western Pant (which is similar to a 501) I would take some photos of me wearing them but the samples are massive. Two leg-lengths are available (32 and 34'', sorry sneakeraddict) the denim is sanforized and they come in single inch increments in the waist, size down 2'' in the waist due to oversizing.

Feeling the cardi/jacket combination. I'm surprised Tenderloin doesn't crop up more often here, I know the cuts are a bit weird but their Winter jackets are amazing especially this years Melton Coat.

New jeans from (in my opinion) the best store in the U.K. at the moment, shame about the sizing... There's a whole collection to be found here: www.oipolloi.com

Some Japanese collaboration jeans. Nice detail on the pocket lining which is a paisley print from Schwabs FW collection, the cut is down the ED88 end of the scale... (very slim)

There are a couple of pants in the current FW range which are made out of the 12oz (I think) Harrison Canvas but they're 5 pocket jeans. Carhartt Europe has made a number of work pants in the heavier Dearborn Canvas without the Single Knee Detail but there's nothing in the current range.
If you're anywhere near London then you might want to try the warehouse in Hackney (0208) 986 8875...

It's there but the horizontal stitch across the back pocket makes it really difficult to discern.

Yep, they look legit.
Rivets look right, badge looks right and the red line looks the same as my Waynesvilles.

Some pictures of a couple of Japanese made Edwins available from January on...
SEN ZX
WIN BT
Both are loose(ish) fit with a longer rise than you'll find in the ED series.

thanks - I think the Japan made ones might suit me better, just because I like the thicker denim that they use (for example on the Nashville and Greenville series) whereas I found the Europe ones a little too thin denim for my taste.
The Sen series might be of interest to you, they're made made from Japanese denim in Japan. The rise is longer than the ED series and the denim has a wonderful deep blue colour...
(Photos tomorrow if you want)

That's a tidy bike for good money. The frame is quite old (see the canti break hanger) though Tange prestige is a good tubeset Sizing may prove a problem, 19'' Marins are big old bikes; I'm 5 11'' and would want to ride a size down... (17.5'')

1. Silas (RIP, especially considering the FW06 line looks so good)
2. Carhartt
3. Pointer Footwear
4. Edwin Jeans (The European line is so frustrating as it's not quite right)
5. Tenderloin (Can't afford it and most shops in the U.K. don't have the balls to stock much but it's fantastic, unhyped Japanese workwear)
6. A.P.C.
7. Delphi (Quality graphic T's)
8. Loki (Cut and sew coming soon, could be very interesting)
9. Bicycle Union (The T's never fail to strike a cord)
10. Barbour

So where should I go to experience the true punk scene?
The Windmill in Brixton is the best venue I've been to in the last couple of months. Things get properly loose given the right act...

For me the undisputed king of London bookstores is Foyles, http://www.foyles.co.uk.
The original is one of the stores on Charing Cross road that Cue mentioned. I think they've also got a branch on the South Bank.

So the Levis legal department creaks into action again. The past few years has seen lawsuits threatened against Carhartt Europe and Howies because of the cloth label on the back pocket, it's not as if this is without precedent.
Lee sued Tenderloin a couple of years ago when Tenderloin put out a jean with Tee on the leather patch.
