its just an advertisement its not spamming im no spammer.

since when has advertising ever been free. when it is unauthorized it is spam.
if you want to advertise send me a note and i’ll give you options. Ed. you have been around long enough to know that.

edit. Just wasted 30 minutes of my life going through this shit.

the system has auto banned edmond indefinitely for reaching over the limit of 10 points. (3 points for unauthorized advertising)
i don't even know how to override this setting.

I hardly hardly doubt we can get an authorization to use the term sufu or superfuture, amirite @sufu1 ???

no issue with you guys using sufu for these community contests. but if it’s an official collaboration with superfuture then it needs a proposal... and a modest donation wouldn’t hurt at this point either tbh.

I think deleting the thread might be a bit melodramatic

yep. locked might have been more accurate. instead sent ed to the sinbin for 4 days with warnings and proposed to move the off-topic posts to covid thread. this thread will not be deleted so everyone just needs to work to extinguish flames rather than spray more petrol. the rest is up to you guys to sort out.

as mentioned if anyone want to nominate themselves or others as a mod let me know. we haven't needed any for denim topics for years but could do with some help as i am obviously not reading every word written in every thread since day dot. plus sufu is almost double the activity of same time a year ago.

  4. just to remind everyone that supertalk has always been a politics and religion free zone, so please keep things on-topic. supertalk is for denim experts not politicians, disseminators of disinformation, homophobes or racists. it's worked well for us since 2003... if twitter and facebook had done the same the world might have gone another direction. thinking to move these off-topic posts to the covid-19 thread so they are preserved in all their glory for future generations to research.

  5. @Serge the entire internet could disappear one day which is why i still write a diary with a pen. anyway be assured that everything that has ever been uploaded to superfuture since 1999 still exists and is backed up... but obviously third party links there is no control if those sites close.

i guess if images were somehow scraped off and re-uploaded then we would still have them but that's not something anyone has time or resources for, given millions of images have been posted on here. if there is someone who wants to help do a book and document it in hard copy then there is still time. chances are superfuture will still be around for decades provided i don't get rona or alzheimers and lose the passwords.

i'm still optimistic about the superfuture ;-)

  6. @Serge dead images due to all the dead image hosting sites... which is a bit tragic indeed. and that someone will be me. it's not an easy plug to pull. however wish me luck finding cash to pay the server fees this month.

Grailed and Ebay sales for clothing seem down too, as clothing purchases obviously isn't a priority right now it seems (unless it's toilet paper or hand sanitizer).  Good luck to anybody here trying to sell their wears right now.

for what it's worth... classifieds on sufu now 50% off and have extended listings from 30 to 180 days.
buyers and sellers can negotiate the details.

  8. amazing to wake up to see this thread. thanks kiya

ok. so spaceship sufu is just temporarily flying through a fucking epic asteroid belt...
starboard engine blown to bits and extremely low on fuel.
good to see everyone defrosting out of hypersleep.

  9. Starting this new CORONA LOCKDOWNS thread and will be moving other posts that have started on other threads so we can keep the discussions on topic. All calm here at sufu mission control but this is gonna be a bumpy ride for some of us. Stay safe everyone.

  10. @kicks79 @JDelage specifically referring to Australia - and Tom Hanks - where the ICUs are not yet overrun. Obviously better not to get at all or the later the better. Hoping the other countries who get on top of it first send all that medical equipment onto the next countries like I think China is just starting to do with Italy. Hopefully that Italian lockdown is making a difference too.

is tom hanks okay? he's like a national treasure in the usa i think.  bachelor party, big, turner and hooch, bro don't get me started!

we should make romper stomper 2 in light of what's happening down under there. we could collab on the script.  it's been reported that cats and dogs can get the coronavirus.  any news down there if kangaroos and dingos are susceptible as well? i know u in australia, but did nz close the shire down?

I think everyone needs to chill out a bit and stay level headed though prepared. My theory is if you are going to get it its best to get it earlier than later - so Tom should be fine Hanks. Dogs and cats and kangaroos who knows unless you're sleeping with one. Yeh this year we already spent half of jan and feb asphyxiated from toxic smoke... so sort of used to the stay in the bunker drill now. Actually Romper Stomper was set in my hometown so know it well. NZ i know zero about - you need to ask your old pal Haptronic...

  12. The way this is going it's already impacting everyone to different degrees everywhere. superfuture has already been whacked pretty badly over the past few months with travel cancellations [we were supposed to be managing a huge event in Tokyo in May that got dumped a month ago]. This past week we have had a total of only [3]!! orders for ALL our superguides - which is basically a direct nuclear hit and means superfuture will soon be financed by my AMEX.

Here at base in Sydney, people have been either freaking out hoarding pasta, brawling in the aisles over toilet paper, or still completely oblivious and in denial. It's a balance between keeping businesses running and people separated. I'm semi bunkered in from this weekend in self isolation as I don't entirely trust the official line which still says everything is fine [this week]. Anyway... I think we'd all prefer to continue to keep supertalk a politics and pandemic free zone, but maybe we should create a separate thread - as this is going to dominate over the next 6 months whether we like it or not. It might be a useful collective thread for everyone on supertalk. Thoughts?
