  1. washington has given the world many great people: bruce lee, quincy jones, jimi hendrix, colonel sanders, kenny g, bill gates, nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, alice in chains, bob barker, bing crosby, kenny loggins, adam west, john olerud, jeff monson, drew bledsoe, and hillary swank

Since when Kenny G is a great person?????

  2. when he resumes?

what happened? just wondering since i just sent him a pm yesterday

check his thread, i think he said he was too busy with moving, not having the internet yet etc. shouldn't be too long i guess otherwise ppl will start panicking...

  3. erm, how long is the inseam on unwashed 1947s? i thought it was like 37 inches

yeah, it depends about waist size, mine (one-wash, but still) are 34 and i could have chosen some 32 (which i should have because i have the opposite problem, mine are too long and i can't find a decent tailor in montreal)...

dancancer, you might want to try to stretch the legs by hand or by tying something heavy next time you soak them. but overall, and although i like my jeans a bit longer than yours, i think it still looks good, wearing them a bit lower will probably fix the problem.

  4. OK, I already posted this in Supermarket, but possibly posting it here would yield more results.

If any of you can help, please let me know!

United Arrow (zozo.jp) does have some, but the largest size they have is a medium. however, i would not be surprise if they had some in store (don't know if the internet inventory is the same as store inventory). might be worth asking 2000db when he resume his buying service. other stores in Tokyo are carrying it and by the look of this thread, stocks in NA seems pretty low at the moment...

  5. while we're on the subject of denim in Montreal, any of you guys know a good place to have jeans hemmed (preferable chain stiching, but i'm pretty desperate so pretty anything will do, been wearing my sugar cane for almost 3 months now and they are starting to get weird fading due to them being too long).

  6. Fuckers sent my Samurais back and I ended up having to pay for shipping twice. I'm gonna see if I can get some money back, but last time I talked to them they said it was the senders responsibility to get a refund.

if they didn't deliver 2 notices and kept the package for 15 days, then it's their fault and they should reimburse you.

they seriously sucks, like today, they delivered a package for me, but didn't even ring the fucking bell, just left a notice in the mailbox... 2 days after i did an official complain. seriously, the mail dudes are way too lazy, i guess this is what happened when you have a rock-solid job security, you stop caring about you "customers". guess i'll have to complain again...

  7. convience stores only selling beer untill 11 and clubs closing at 3 (well Canada's victorian attitude toward alcool in general)

god dammit frenchy, at least they sell you booze in convenience stores. and 3 is better than 2. but fuck its still stupid

i knew i would get that kind of response, always freaked me out when i lived in BC that you had to go to a soviet-style liquor store (that didn't have fucking freezer for the beer) to get stuff to drink and clubs closing earlier. on the good side, LCBO is much cheaper than SAQ though. seriously, we ain't livin in the freakin USSR so the government shouldn't have to tell us when and where to buy or drink booze.

  8. ReBorn (514) 499-8549

    Influence U (514) 931-3283

    are you sure?

checked Influence U with my gf this week and the only decent brand they had was still Nudie (and i really mean decent for montreal). last time i was at Reborn (ok, maybe a bit more than a month ago), they only had Acme, although Cheap Monday would be the kind of brand that they could be carrying.

U and I on st-laurent has some (overpriced) APC if you're interested. Montreal shopping is so lacking in pretty much everything...

  9. the key to getting a better service is to officially complain with things that shouldn't happen happens. had some problem recently, filed an official complain and was so surprised and how nicely they treated me and how serious they looked about fixing the problems (don't know if anything's gonna change....)

about custom charges, they often overcharged me and i complained and was often reimbursed. you're actually only suppose to pay the GST on most items.

  10. -Chelsea, my unrational hate of Man utd has transformed as a Chelsea hate, i punched the wall yesterday when drogba scored at the 92nd minute and it still hurt... i often imagine myself torturing Mourinho...

-Diving, play acting and time wasting...

-Italian and portuguese football, fuck those cheaters

-TSN and sportsnet not playing the games i wanna see (what's up with showing like Reading Vs Wigan when you could have shown Arsenal or Liverpool)

-having to wake up early on sat morning to watch the Premiership games

    -The Maple Leaf

-The Maple Leaf beating us in shoutout

    -"extreme" sports on tv

-convience stores only selling beer untill 11 and clubs closing at 3 (well Canada's victorian attitude toward alcool in general)

    -Commies and socialists

-so called "conservative" goverment raising the taxes on income thrust and making me lose money...

-ppl standing still on the left side of escalator

-ppl not giving way/trying to get inside when you want to exit the subway

    that's enough for now...

  11. smoke as much weed as you can, it's insanely expensive over there, not to mention stupidly dangerous (we're talking about prison time and most likely deportation). army personnel have a different status than student/worker so you might want to inquire about that (in regard to opening a bank account, getting a keitai, etc). some stuff that is somewhat hard to get (deodorant, american food, etc) should be available at the base so i wouldn't worry about that. and about plug, current is almost the same (100 V) so almost all appliances will work perfectly, although i have heard of thing that needed a lots of power working slowly (things with a motor, or a desktop). also, plugs in japan don't have a ground (only 2 horizontal plugs),so buying a couple of adapter (they're like 1$ at home depot) can be useful if you're bringing things with a 3 plugs power supply (plugs have the base might have 3 plugs though).

so-so : may i ask what school are you going to study at? i was at Waseda last year and had a few friends from UW...

  12. I live in arguably the coldest big city in the world (up there with moscow), and i've been sporting Burton or Analog down jacket since like 7-8 years and i've always been super satisfied. a technical down jacket made by a snowboard/outerwear company like burton, Arc Teryx, Marmot etc, should allow enough breathing. i also often wore my down jacket with only a t-shirt under when i lived in Tokyo, vancouver and norway (where the climate is very similar to Seatle), and it was really confortable.

this on in suede is really nice

i also really like this one, but no breathing probably

  13. COMPEDE, get em from walking shops, special plasters, gel filled or sumthing.

was about to recommend the same thing. used them a couple time while hiking and they worked magics...

edit: i use to have some band-aid that were gel-filled, don't remember the brand name though, but got them from an REI-type shop. but they were fucking expensive , something like 5 for 8$ or something...
