  1. Cool stuff...but damn I know he's charging a grip for everthing in there. Most of that stuff would take years of thrifting to find, so I am sure he is putting a premium for everthing. Take the overalls for instance, I am sure they would be very appealing if you were in the store lusting after them, but when you got home and realized you paid half a k for a wore out pair of overalls you might realize how silly you are. Also, alot of that stuff appears to have been overly customized and seems alittle "revisionist" to me. In the end though, if you got the dough and don't have the time for thrifting...you could probably get what you wanted there.

I do like what he had to say regarding individual style. Regardless of my negative comments I really like his inventory and if I were rich I would have a freaking field day in there. I think he probably is trying to sell most of the pieces as "inspiration" examples for collections like he stated.

  2. I collect vintage(ish) belt buckles. I've got 3 Coca Colas, 1 Pepsi, a Foghat (please someone say they remember this group), a frampton, one The Beatles, a HIRES root beer, and right now I'm wearing a Miller High Life. Am still trying to get an ELO, Queen, maybe KISS and a few others.

Also, some comics, but that's fallen by the wayside for awhile now.

I'm sure I collect other stuff, but I can't think of them at the moment.

  4. my grandpa is that grandpa. guy is rough and tumble. fought the I-talians in WWII and still going strong.

Truth, just because you don't look as pretty as you used to absolutely does not mean you cannot kick some ass. I used to be an officer in an American Legion Post and some of those old dudes in there were some tough s.o.b.'s.

  5. Having worked at a laundry for a couple of years partime I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on this subject. I find that most everyday clothes no matter the color tend to get clean using delicate cycle with cold water. Additionally, it seems to me the that the dryer does more damage to clothes than the washer so, a clothesline to dry will preserve your favorite pieces much better than a dryer. I agree that just not washing everytime helps as well. I wear an undershirt so I don't really have to wash anything everytime I wear it unless I get a stain on it.

  6. They are a one wash. I agree that they are a little too baggy. I wonder if a hot soak + dryer will help it a bit. Some say that one washes have 99% of ths shrinkage done but others say that only 90% of the shrinkage is done. I guess I'll just have to try and see!

I'm thinking I should have sized down to maybe 30 but then it would be really snug around my waist and I don't like that feeling when I sit down... Oh well...

I think the fit is perfect and DO not cut off that pocket, I think it is really cool and different looking. I say keep it.

  7. calfjobs...that's a new one. i was aware of footjobs and even anklejobs, but the calf looks like groundbreaking territory. i think you may have just struck a goldmine my friend.

For Calfjob see the movie: The Cowboy Way, terrible movie with Kieffer S. and Wood H. but definitive as far as the "calfjob" goes.

  8. I don't see how you guys kill a pair of denims in a few months. Jeeze I am active but when I doing sports or really fucking doing something nasty the last thing I am going to wear is 300 dollar jeans. I put on my fucking beaters for that shit. I fully expect my japanese denim should last me at least 3 or 4 years. Now, I don't have any that cost me over 200 but that is $$$$ for me. RRLs, selvage Ateliers, cane 47s and a couple of S501XX and a pair of Nudies. Got them all on the cheap because I wear pretty big sizes (36 waist) so the just seem to come up on ebay cheaper from time to time. But if I am working on my car or painting or feeling like skidding in on the concrete drunk, I do it in some cheap ass shit.
