  1. Barbour is nice, but they are the ones that have to be treated every season. I have an old one and when treated properly and maintained,is as waterproof as my Air Force Issue Gortex camo. My Barbour seems to breath well enough but for a warmer, wet climate I go for the Gortex every time. Gortex is much lighter even if it does not breath as well. I wore the Gortex during the Invasion of Panama in '89 and it is still in incredible condition, if not a little tighter around the midsection.

  3. This country is full of people who want so desperatlely to feel unique that they will buy or wear anything to cultivate an identity at any cost. I don't for one second entertain the thought of paying 200 bucks for a tshirt, but, I dig the repro denim that is made in the US and I will buy it from time to time. Mostly I get my stuff from thrift stores or vintage and I can't remember when I bought something that was not made in the USA. That being said, we tend to be ethnocentric in our beliefs regarding the garmet industry in foreign countries. In many of the countries mentioned 90 percent of the jobs available are taken by men. That leaves scant little opportunities for women and childen who are not dependents of a man, which leads in many cases to the obvious for means of support. So, twelve hour days sweating over a sewing machine can be a pretty good job verses 12 hour nights in a brothel.

Fair, hell no but life ain't fair.

  4. I got me some early 80s (made in the usa) white 501s from the thrift store and they are cool. I wear them with a blue guayaberra shirt and canvas tennis shoes or a tiki shirt. (in Florida of course) probably would not cut it in Detroit though. Geography is the key for white Levis!!!

  5. My 1901s shrank from a 38 waist to a 36 waist after 1 cold water rinse.. I like em. Remember, fashionable they ain't. The fit is not antifit or shapely. They are work pants...and they look like it. The no belt loop thing is a bitch after you have had them on all day..you will be grabbin at them after about noon. The little belt buckle on the back is a joke. Snapped it the first time I tried to tighten them. Replace it immediately and save the damn thing for posterity because if you try to use it...it will break. Finally, these jeans are thin. I mean like khaki pants thin. They are 11oz I believe and after a wash they are as soft as butter and great for a hot day.

  6. 40 bucks for skivies....ain't gonna happen.

Commando....for hot climates while in a war zone only..."believe me I have been there" things get pretty funky fast...definately not for mixed company...

otherwise, 3 pair for $7.99 at any store not attached to a mall...they even have all the colors of the rainbow.

  7. Guy, please...I got no advise for your hairstyle but for gods sake don't go 6 months without washing yer hair...that is just nasty. Not every body has the hair for the flavor of the month haircut, so find something that is comfortable. If you need to quit washing your hair to get it to look good, in my opinion...you need to try something else. Everybody should use soap on their damn head...it is basic hygeine.

  8. I like the cut of those jeans. I have some Levis LVC 551zxx and I bought them big. The fit is very similar. Plenty of room for the boys. I don't see how anybody can stand to wear denim skin tight. It looks soooo nasty I could gag. Loose fitting denim looks great on people who are slim. Tight denim makes slim and heavy people look terrible. Then again, there are some people who should stay away from jeans all together.
