those sound like the repros from Lee Japan. Look on the Aero website...they have them. If they are originals...you have a gold mine on your hands.

Fake or not that selvage looked wack as hell

They would fit me. Everybody thinks that just because you got a 38 waist you are a fat ass. I am 5'7" and weigh 190 lbs with a 50 inch chest and I assure you, I am no fatass. Definately a shortass, but not a fatass. My real waist is 36 but I hate tight denim so I always buy 38s.

Authentic or not the pocket details are very appealing and the denim looks real nice.

Ebay has the set in 38 waist. They look pretty cool but damn $$$$$$$$$$$ for a little silver.

Those just aren't right! Too much contrast to be natural. Creases are great just too much contrast, or maybe it is just the picture.

Kenneth Howard did not sell jeans!!!!! Nuff said.

Those look fiendishly painful, God I want a pair!!!

Those jeans are cheap because of the waist size...my god man, if you can wear these you need a sandwich more that jeans.

Nice Work...hate the pocket stitching on these jeans though.

If you are going to just throw them in the washer...buy some Levis ($40.00), don't waste your money on good indigo that is going to get flushed into the city sewer.

You can date them by tag or by the zipper fairly roughly.
Hope this helps.
I LOVE vintage LEVIS....

Chucks...played out? Cmon... Chucks never play out. They have had a place in every decade. Granted...I think they are hideous and should never be worn under any circumstances, but played out? I think not good sir!

If somebody else has to wear it first to make it cool, I don't want to wear it at all. That is unless that person defined cool. I.E. McQueen, Dean, Newman,Sinatra. Now these cats could dress and you would not have caught them dead in a neon camo hoody. People wanted to dress like them because they LOOKED GOOD. This streetwear stuff...half of it would end up on the bargain rack at KMART if somebody hot at the moment wasn't wearing it for free.
just my two cents but I am an old fart anyway.

OK, that picture of the hairy foot in the fruity flops just put me completely off my food. I shall never venture into this thread again. TO EACH HIS OWN!

I will try to put up some pics this weekend. I didentified their date by using the details sections on Red Clouds website. Their manufactures label index with photos is really awesome if you are into old workwear and the like.

Most thrift stores know the difference between the good stuff and the crap so, you won't see any pre "71" denim there at all "big E" or bintage selvage denim. That said...there are tons of very well worn 501s that are from the 80s and on and like the last posts said...try them on.

I got a pair of very vintage Lee carpenter jeans that date from the mid 30s. They have the Housemark label on them and they have the most amazing fading to the front of the legs. The denim is lighter weight but it is has the coolest white threads showing though the wear. They are button fly with original brass rivet buttons. I wear them all the time especially in the summer because they are loose and light.
