  1. Try only wearing each pair of shoes you have for 1 day per week and never wear the same pair in the same week. They need time to dry on the inside. No synthetic material in your shoes...that stuff will make your feet rot. Get some lightweight canvas like some old school Tretorns that really breath for hot weather. You can wash them and they only look cooler. Stay away from Chucks...they look cool but they are freaking stink machines.

  2. Frye is a very established bootmaker and are known for their quality. I have a pair I bought last year and a pair of vintage campus boots that are from the early seventies. Both are constucted like tanks with Goodyear welt construction. Fryes are easily resoleable as well. They make not look as cool when you first buy them, but like good denim, they sure look sweet after a little wear. Go for the Fryes!! Most are made in the USA as well if that makes any difference to you.

  3. I really don't think a skinny kid in jeans with a Dress blue marine corp jacket with an ARMED FORCES EXPEDITIONARY MEDAL or PURPLE HEART would ever be mistaken for a vet either. I just think it looks dumb . And I am pretty sure most folks know what a purple heart is. IT's purple and it is shaped like a heart. Currently, the medal is being given out like hotcakes and most of the guys getting them are missing arms and legs. IT IS NOT A FASHION STATEMENT and NOR should it be. Just an old vets opinion.

  4. its how you wear them

i can spend money in a thrift vintage store and look better than those with their little milo hoodies and ugly tees whose screenprinted messages have absolutely no relevance to the wearerits how you wear them

  6. All denim is mass produced, it ain't silk, but as I said some is much better than others while some is crap. Crap is for the masses, the good stuff is for more refined tastes. You pay for the good stuff and the crap is easily recongized. My point is...excellent quality selvage denim will probably not be all over the place anytime soon. The crap might be, but I will know the difference and it will not diminish my desire to wear the good stuff.

I don't care for super tight styles, with crazy pocket stitching and rainbow selvage and all that other nonsense. If there is a beginning of the end it will start with that crap!!!

I like the original, not because I'm an old fart, just because I think it looks the best and is still the most relevant and the least errrr...fruity!

  7. Been to this war....it did not fuck me up...it is still wrong. Every one uses the excuse that Al Queda doesn't care who you are. Let me tell you something. This war was a mistake!!! Period. We have created a situation where no matter how long we stay.. we cannot win. And when we leave...if you think Afghanistan was bad...Iraq is going to be a terrorist dream. Their own country just like Afghanistan, only this time they won't need international funding, because they will have their own personal oil well. Hussein was no angel. But he kept a country with 3 factions fighting for power together for 40 years and there was no religious extremism or terrorist activity. Just a civil war brewing under the surface that he kept quelled, abeit by violence, for many decades. We toppled that leadership and now we have to deal with it. Starting this war was a mistake...leaving now will be a mistake....not leaving now will be a mistake....Thank George Bush. Amen.

  8. Real Selvage denim costs........it is expensive to make if it is quality... we all know that. Quality is quality whether it is "hyped" or not. Everyone will never be wearing selvage denim because everyone can't afford that level of quality. And most don't care to. If they find a way to mass produce selvage, it will be crap and will still be unhip. Fear not denim snobs...you are safe. I wear khaki pants to my office job. Not GAP, not dockers, but 60 year old Cramerton Army Cloth button fly army pants. If they were made the way khaki is made to day, they would not still be here, let alone look as good as they do. That's quality folks...not "hype".

  9. I knew I was right. The only people who wear that nasty shit is college students without a clue. Thank you for clearing this up people. Hopefully, one day I may be able to walk the Halls of the University of North Texas without looking a hairy men's apefeet draggin nasty shredded denim. And that shredded denim thing....that's another one. What the hell...cuff your shit Man!!!!!!!!!!!
