great progress on those PRPS!

it's been said before, but I'd think that wearing any garment for months at a time without washing is definitely going to affect its durability... I don't see why people are so shcoked that their jeans are getting damaged or are falling apart (especially when they're stretching them and putting all sorts of stress on them)
besides, it presents some interesting repair opportunities... I'd say that as long as you like the color and fit, you can make the rest of them work

LOL, that's kinda fucked up
but it does make you wonder...
probably a faster version of fake-bake

back to curry talk:
I'm a relative noob when it comes to Japanese curry, but I'm a big fan of Katsu-Hama's Katsu curry here in midtown. It's within walking distance of my office so I sneak over there once or twice a week for my fix... anybody else eat there?

last I spoke with Gordon, he had said that no.1s were probably going to be right about $300 if not more and the no 2s were going to be around the $250 range (which is about right given the other price markups that they have for their other jeans)
I wonder if they will still offer the painting service...

^ thanks chicken.
from the brief bit I've read on shoe creams, it sounds like they're more meant to sort of re-dye and maintain a certain color on your shoes... I'm more interested in just moisturizing them, so I think Obenauf's is what I'm looking for. I'd also like to have it around for my other leather goods (like my belt, gf's boots, etc.)

The guy who resoled them for me said that it was mostly due to salt and rapid drying after being trudged through in the snow... he also said the best to prevent it is to let it dry out slowly after it gets really wet and then hitting it with a conditioner (hence my original question)

another small shoe care question:
what types of product do you guys use for moisturizing your shoes? I was looking into using Obenauf's for my dress shoes, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily appropriate. Should I be using some other sort of cream instead?
My beloved cordovan colored hanovers are starting to crack a little bit and I'd like to delay the process if at all possible.

how often do you guys stain the trim of your guys' soles? The sides of mine get eaten up pretty quickly ( far sooner than it would be appropriate for me to re-sole them)

^ lol at repros!
they better be careful, lest ando momofuku press legal charges!
(and yes, I know that he is only the inventor of instant ramen, but I don't think anyone knows who "invented" ramen...)

I love hanovers... how does their shell crodovan compare with some of the other ones you've tried?

Sinestro Corps War is some crazy shit
JSA is a great consistent read
Iron Fist is another solid read
Scott Pilgrim is required reading for anyone of the '00 generation... totally hilarious and awesome
Watchmen and Dark Knight are always my go-tos for mind bendingly awesome GNs
Ult X-men is like junk food in comic book form... it doesn't actually nourish me, but I continue to read it in trades
Want to pick up the Captain America Omnibus... Brubaker and Epting are supposed to be doing an amazing job with this book (it's apparently got more of a spy feel to it, which is awesome)

I haven't gotten a chance to stop by and get mine nice and hemmed so I experimented with a few different ways of wearing the excess.
Stacking looks ok with dunks or bigger shoes, but I think I prefer stacks with a more tapered opening.
Cuffing: didn't look that great. I'm usually like a 31-32 inseam and I had to double cuff these puppies. I ended up with a fat double cuff 3-4inch wide cuff which isn't really my look (maybe if I wore more engineer boots or rockabilly stuff)
Rolling: FINALLY! A really nice look that so far I've been pretty happy with. the roll is nice and tight, it keeps the jeans off the floor, I get to show off the selvage and it's not too wide. I've even contemplated just keeping my jeans at this length and keeping them rolled... but I would like to show off the chainstitched hem, so I'll get them hemmed whenever I get the chance, I guess

I'm personally surprised RRL made a jean so er...not classic looking.
their new shit is cut pretty modern. the styling is vintage but the clothes are quite wearable.
btw, I like the way those fit Cheap.

No to throw more fuel on the inferno of the c.diem / W+H debate, but aren't ALL shoes and garments "hand made"? I don't think there are any machines that have been invented that can just mass produce shirts or shoes... so that's not really a valid argument...

Just finished up my holiday shopping and was curious what the shopping experts are buying for their fam this holiday season?
Me and the GF decided that we would secretly buy everyone cheesy Chirstmas Sweaters and see what their reactions would be

anyone else's jeans kinda baggy in the ass?
they're supposed to be a lower rise repro model, so I think they're cut to preserve the anti-fit... was trying to explain this to my gf last night, who was confused by the fit in the seat.
I would describe them as "nostalgic" rather than straight up repros

- "Paint brush found in possession of a housepainter while on
his way home from work was not the kind of instrument
covered by... this section, prohibiting the carrying of a
dangerous weapon." (1962)
good thing I can still pack my trusty paint brush. that'll keep me safe on the streets of NYC
